Avatar f tn htm This webpage gives tips for safely disposing (getting rid of) needles and other sharp devices that are used outside of health care settings. Patients and caregivers should keep these tips in mind when at home, at work, and while traveling.
Avatar f tn I am still LMAO about the needles. Yours is just the opposite of my situation with needles. I can not get them to stop sending them to me. I get a pre-filled nuelasta for my husband and I get 30 needles and 30 syringes. OKAAAAY this is a pre filled dose. LOL And on your case you cannot get them to send any. LOL What we put up with regarding our insurance and prescription coverages. Lord what a joke sometimes. Good Luck on getting your syringes and needles.

Avatar m tn My 37 year old son has the same problem. It's so bad that he passes out at the thought of blood or needles. I have suggested therapy to him. I started a post named "anxiety and cardiac arrest" go read that and it will tell you his circumstances.
Avatar f tn No one is going to deliberately infect you at a diagnostic laboratory with HIV. Unless you had a 'real' risk - unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse or shared needles to inject drugs with other users, there is no risk. Testing wasn't needed.
Avatar m tn t work with a professional Basically, you have random thoughts all day long and this is another one of them. It will stick because you are afraid of it if you continue to research, question or engage with the thought. so, the goal is to just have the thought but do nothing with it. I will go ahead and give you the reassurance you are seeking here but do so regretfully as it just feeds your anxiety. the fear of reused needle is just an anxious thought, not reality and would not worry about that.
Avatar f tn Then my RX sends me the 3ml which is cool but the needles are monster size. So they send me 30guage needles that pop off all the time and I waste $100 of medicine cuz of it. I'm very frustrated as my hbc is not going to a good level and staying there. I keep bouncing from 8.5 to 10. But at least I'm not having to get transfusions again so it's doing something...slowly.
Avatar f tn One last question, by sharing needles, what u meant is only IV needle with a barrel or any kind of needles such like sewing needles?? I know I seem to hav OCD and I sometime worries about being pricked by people with sewing needle with infected blood on. I promise this will be my last question and thank u guys so much for your patience!!

Avatar f tn Since my teenage years I have had a HIV anxiety, I never did any risky activities because of fear of becoming infected. Recently I went in for a massage and the massage lady gave me a handjob at the end and nothing else, she was not a escort only offered a handjob. After I started to feel high anxiety that maybe I got infected by the handjob but every website said it is no risk, that made me feel better for a few days now my OCD kicked in.

Avatar f tn The risks for HIV only include having unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles to inject drugs. Air and saliva inactivate the virus. Therefore, having oral sex and kissing are NOT risks. No one gets HIV that way. And as you add what your fears are, it is clear anxiety impacts you. Being infected with a needle on your acne back is an irrational fear. That's really not something that happens. And you can't give someone hiv through touching or poking with a needle.
Avatar m tn Hi there - I'm sure you could combine both drugs or piggy back them and I'm sure it's done but it would be very bad! Just dangerous. 135 mg of methadone is a good size dose to begin with so if he's doing heroin on top of that he's asking for trouble. I don't blame you for being concerned. He could respiratory arrest easily after a dose of heroin. Best call the family together and agree on a plan of approach and then approach!
Avatar n tn First of all calm down, the syringes are never reused netheir in the UK netheir in HAITI so you dont have to worry, since you are pregnant your nerves can be high, so just try to calm down if you cant look for a therapist that can help you to control your irrational hiv fears and out of proportion anxiety, You CANT get hiv from getting tested so please forget about this. Hope it helps, and congratulations on your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn , cups, paper, sticks, trash, etc, but I have fear of it being a needle. The funny thing is, most of the time, I never review the photos; I guess just knowing I have them brings me relief. Before, I was even using a picker to pick things up off the ground, which I would store in the trunk of my car; however, I've pretty much gotten past that. It has come to the point that my condition is impacting my relationship.
Avatar n tn Hi i am 20. I am not sexually active. ( Never sex with anyone , never receive blood transfusion , never share needles ) . I just masturbate and wipe it off with some cloth. I usually reuse it for a month without washing. I had asked this question many times on yahoo answers and even real doctors. Their answer is i am completely safe and no need to fear. But i cannot accept this statement even though i know that i am not infected. I always search for HIV symptoms .
Avatar f tn I live in Thailand. I never had HIV risk from sex or drug injection. However, last month I went to inject for rabies shot and tetanus shot at the hospital. The nurse did not open the new needles in front of me. She already prepared the needles when I entered the room. I asked her the needles are new or not. She said "the syringes are old but needles are new". At first, I am shocked and asked back "the syringes used on somebody before me?
Avatar f tn I must also add I suffer from OCD so this is making me extra anxious and my stress levels are through the roof. I can’t take to my wife about this for fear of how she’d react. I’ve ordered a self-test kit which is arriving in the next few days. Please can somebody give me some accurate information as to the likelihood and risk of infection.
Avatar m tn Could be lots of people infected with all these syringes laying around - maybe dad borrowed it from your uncle or something and got himself a good case of the hep too. Get them all tested and then clean the house that's awful dangerous to think kids could grab a syringe like that.
Avatar n tn I have read in the past of a small electric machine that can actually melt the metal part of the syringes and turn them into small balls of metal that will not be dangerous to anyone. You may also wish to look whether such machine is available.
Avatar m tn Recently I had contacted Flu and went to a local clinic in Delhi. The nurse gave me injection and ever since then i am surrounded with this fear whether he might have given me injection with an used needle as i noticed that the clinic was not clean and several needles were lying there. I did not notice the nurse tearing a fresh needle to give me medicine. So i would like to know that in case the nurse used a dirty needle on me what are the chances of me acquiring HIV?
