fear

Avatar f tn , cups, paper, sticks, trash, etc, but I have fear of it being a needle. The funny thing is, most of the time, I never review the photos; I guess just knowing I have them brings me relief. Before, I was even using a picker to pick things up off the ground, which I would store in the trunk of my car; however, I've pretty much gotten past that. It has come to the point that my condition is impacting my relationship.
Avatar n tn All I can tell you is that most of us here were scared at first to give ourselves injections. But the needle is really tiny and you can hardly feel it. I would say that plucking eyebrows hurts more. He'll do fine. I would definitely suggest doing the first one with the nurse if you guys still feel anxious.
Avatar f tn I myself have a fear of needles, this is my second pregnancy.
Avatar m tn There has never been anyone contract HIV from a tattoo. Tattoo needles are solid needles.
Avatar n tn Doctors dont re used needles why would they? They cost nothing not to mention they are trained not to do so. Its all in your head quite frankley. Even if they did, as zam said, HIV once exposed to air then its very unlikley to pose any risk, but the risk is nothing more than in your vivid imagination than reality.

Avatar m tn However during the course of sex (I had a condom but before I could use it), she started rubbing my penis on her vagina and ***oris. There was definite presence of vaginal fluid on the head of the penis. I freaked out, but was assured by her that she is not HIV positive and I have nothing to worry about. I later looked up symptoms of HIV on the net and one of the symptoms mentioned was rashes. about a week later I found red bumps on the arm. -https://ibb.

Avatar m tn For the past 5 years I have been dodging doctors to the best of my ability due to a fear of needles / medical procedures. In addition there is a deep fear of simply finding out "somethings wrong". I already know I have high blood pressure which I do my best to control with diet and exercise but I still need help. I had a doctor for 10 years that I called my primary care physician but really only saw him a handful of times.
Avatar f tn You said you are intelligent. I do believe you. You have only one question to answer, as Jesus asked I will ask also. Why? The answer for that only you have. Go back in time in your head and remember. You might have bad experiences, clear those for yourself, and then heal yourself. For you to do that is important maybe more important than your cholesterol standing right now.Until you make it to the doctor eat cholesterol friendly as you can. Good luck.
Avatar f tn No one has ever gotten herpes or HPV from dental tools. People have gotten hepatitis C and HIV from dental tools, but those are from the use of needles for anesthesia or numbing. You didn't get either of those. No one has gotten anything from normal cleanings. Really, there's no risk here. I hope you consider getting help for your anxiety.
Avatar m tn Yes dude. You need to understand that HIV is a very very fragile virus, it can't survive in the external environment. Go ahead with the treatment, there is no risk involved.
Avatar f tn Hi, this morning I went to the hospital for the rabies vaccine, I was sitting on the chair waiting for the nurse to give me 2 dose shot, then I noticed there was a container on the floor with used needles in it, and at the last dose, I saw the nurse accidentally slightly contact the container with some sound, and I can't stop thinking what if the needles come out of the container and get in touch with me, if there a risk?
Avatar m tn s forum, you have to pay for that one, nonetheless you have NO RISK OF HIV, HIV is an extremely fragile virus which spreads through bodily fluids in acts of unprotected sex (vaginal/anal), or the sharing of needles, you need to see your Doctor about those symptoms as they are not indicative of HIV but I think it's stress and anxiety, try not to worry!
Avatar f tn Again, IV drug needles are different than blood draws. That you had a blood draw, then an HIV test because of fear of the blood draw and then renewed needle fear from the hiv test? Sounds like classic anxiety. I'd work on the anxiety. Have you posted about this on the site before now?
595125 tn?1219834270 What you descrive is a panic attack when you have this intense fear, then you become afraid of the fear and so on until it becomes a vicious circle. You came to the right place! You should browze a lot of these threads as you will quickly see that you are not alone in your fear and anxiety and you will perhaps learn from how others have coped with it.
Avatar f tn if you have unprotected penetrative vaginal or anal sex or sharing of drug needles. Hiv is inactivated by air and saliva. Every time you have a fear of HIV, remember that. It should alleviate the worry. If you didn't do these things, you aren't going to get HIV.
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with diabetes, but have been afraid of needles for my whole life. Can anyone suggest any alternatives to injecting insulin, or ways to overcome this fear?
Avatar m tn This sounds to me like a response to someone who wants help with a fear of needles, and not like a question that begs for a response? Right?
Avatar n tn Aside from some adversion therapy, I suppose some talk therapy could help you out, but I think it would be a waste of money. You said you also have a fear of bloodwork. Most of us with anxiety issues have fears when we go for any kind of test, be it bloodwork or an X-ray or CT......so this is also very common. You said you just had some blood work done and you obviously survived, but now you have a fear that they used a dirty needle.
Avatar f tn I would encourage you not to get tested and tested unless you have had an exposure such as unprotected vaginal or anal sex, sharing of needles with a drug user or mother to child via breast milk. Other than that, you can relax, you are not going to get HIV. Believe me I have had every fear about it just like you. I don't get tested. It only brings temporary - or sometimes no relief- and then you will feel like you want it again the next time you are triggered.
