It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.".
Avatar n tn These side effects are most likely to be seen at the beginning of treatment, following a dose increase, or when treatment is restarted after an interruption......
1701678 tn?1307165109 By the time I had him fixed at six months he was at stage two. Chandler Bing has had fainting spells since he was very young. I noticed them when he was around three months. On 5-19-2011 I took him in for a large belly. At first I thought it might be worms or blockage. After listening to his heart the vet told me he now was at a stage five heart murmur. He was given an x-ray and his belly was full of fluid and he had a round heart with the windpipe raised.
Avatar f tn It has been going on for over 1 year. Lately I have been fainting and falling alot (very embarrising since I am in High School). Just recently I have also been getting severe leg and back cramps/spasms. I am having a hard time sleeping at night getting only about 3 to 4 hours of sleep. This has also been going on for over 1 year. I have seen several doctors, who have run MRI's, CAT scans and they all have done blood work. Everything always comes up normal.
Avatar f tn Im wondering why when all I have been reading from this forum is the 2 treatment solvadi and ribafarin . Now im really scared and upset. I have to wait until feb 10 to actually see my doctor to discuss. Im hoping he will not do the 3 treatments. all my labs have low counts and no scarring on the liver does anyone out there have any suggestions for me on what to expect at this point. Im not rich I have to work and now im faced with possibly losing my job if my doctor wont put me on disability.
Avatar n tn In this condition blood vessels tend to expand, which leads to pooling of blood in the lower parts of the body. As a result, less blood reaches the brain and this causes fainting. The usual stimulus for this action resides in the nerves of the heart-hence the term neurocardiogenic. A head-up tilt test can uncover the underlying cause of the fainting in this syndrome.
Avatar f tn Hey, I just found this community. I've been fainting since I was 14 from Neurocardiogenic Syncope. I'm 24 now and living off SSI. I moved back in with my parents after failing college. I've tried salt tablets, gatorade, proamitine, florinef, atenolol, klonopin, paxil, ritalin, etc. Right now I'm on ritalin and florinef. The first 5 years were rough, but managable. The next 2 years I began to think I was growing out of it.
Avatar f tn Please have someone drive you the emergency room now! What's happening to you is extremely serious. I had a cousin with a leaky heart valve & a tooth infection. The infection went to his heart and he had a massive stroke. Please don't drive yourself & if no one is there to take you right now to the emergency room, call 9-1-1!
1725558 tn?1309737496 Four years ago I started seeing a new doc who started prescribing opiates for the treatment of my bipolar. I suffer mostly with the depressive side of the condition, is this an unusual med to be on for bipolar? Has anyone else been treated with or heard of this treatment??
Avatar f tn He had a mechanical heart valve put in August 2005. He has been having recurring dizziness, weakness, tremors and fainting spells the last few years and they are getting more frequent. In 2014, he was diagnosed with Sinus bradycardia w/intermittent 1st degree AV block, mild plaque in his carotid arteries and grade 1 diastolic dysfunction. Our GP says he is on all the medications to treat this problem and doesn't seem to want to do anything else.
Avatar n tn (uses 4 times a day with the albeuterol) , also has proventil rescue inhaler, and a ton of different medications. Avatar n tn I don't know if I am in the right place for this or not, but I have been fainting since I was 13 (now 30). It used to happen for no apparent reason (not from stress) & I went through many tests (EEG, EKG, etc) before they did the tilt-table test & figured out it was when adreneline was released into my system that heart rate went up/blood pressure down. I was on nadalol (sp)?
Avatar m tn Your symptoms are very likely caused by hypotension and you must discuss with your doctor if your medications are correct (PS! do NOT change without asking him!) 60/40 is a far too low blood pressure and can cause fainting. 110/70 is perfect. I would also recommend asking for a 24 hour monitoring to see if your blood pressure is fluctuating wildly during the day (which is not that uncommon) and if so, other treatment is possible.
Avatar n tn the first time i faint was on my first day in Gym, which the coach assured me its natural ! then after few weeks i got a feeling that i can't take my breath to the max capacity of my lungs but those symptoms went away after a couple of weeks ..
Avatar f tn Usually medical treatment is only begun after the third episode. In certain individuals even small amounts of alcohol can precipitate a seizure. Even though some time has passed, a physician's examination and input would be in order.

511019 tn?1214337323 The new cardiologist said that she might be able to try an SSRI for treatment. Can someone tell me how this helps with autonomic dysfunction?
Avatar n tn It could be postprandial hypotension, a drop in blood pressure that occurs after eating which can result in presyncope (dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, almost fainting) or syncope (fainting) in some patients. A holter monitor does not measure blood pressure, so it would not rule out postprandial hypotension as a cause for syncope.
Avatar f tn Long QT Syndrome can be scary at first but once you are on treatment life does go on. Betablockers are the best treatment in most cases except for LQT3 so that is why it is very important to see an Electrophysiologist who can determine this by your T wave pattern and possibly get genetic testing started. There is a QT Drug List available on the internet that lists all the medications known to prolong the QT interval and all these drugs should be avoided.
Avatar n tn wanted to put me on a Reveal LINQ and since I have had no fainting or other problems and feel fine why would I want to be on a loop device when a pacemaker would correct any AF problems ?

Avatar m tn I'm a 54 yo female who needed a pacemaker 10 years ago due to idiopathic 3rd degree heart block, I take no medications for my heart. My battery (now 10 years old) needs replacing. I've had 4 episodes of 5 second or less V-tach (according to the pacemakers computer) in the last 18 months and the doctors are wanting to do an Electrophysiology study to see if they can find out why I've had these episodes, since the echo and nuclear stress test preformed last week, were all normal.
501792 tn?1261111106 Since I have tried many IC treatments and medications. I have tried Installments, a distention and IC mediactions OTC and prescribed. I have always prefered an all natural approach to medicine but my pain has not responded to those options enough to stop taking the narcotic pain meds. I eat as naturally and organically as possible and follow an IC diet. I have SVT which interferes with alot of the options I've tried like Lupron and being able to consitantly use NSAIDS.
