Common Questions and Answers about Fainting during urodynamics

fainting

Avatar m tn My kid had his Nephrectomy (right) at his 1 year age and is adviced to undergo Urodynamics for analysing his bladder capacity. Need to know at what age is a urodynamics study suggestable in children. We feel like he is too young to undergo this study. Also, we are now using Oxybutynin - 2.5 mg per day through which he is able to sustain for 3 to 3.5 hours. If we stop using that, the child starts a little drizzling in drops. We are using this medicine since last 1 year.

Avatar f tn So, I just got back from the urologist, and I've been scheduled for urodynamics testing next week. From what I've read here, I know some of you have had experience with this. I'm just curious as to your experiences with this. How was it? Was it painful? Uncomfortable? The doctor explained a bit about it to me, that they insert a catheter and have electrodes and fill your bladder. Apparently, I have to urinate in front of a technician.
1040373 tn?1273687488 So I had my urodynamics testing last week. Boy, what a contraptions they have you sit on! Thankfully the lady who did the testing was SUPER NICE so all of my anxiety went out the window. I might have made a boo-boo though. I had the testing done one week after finishing IV steroids. I was shocked when she declared that all of my muscles seemed to be working fine and that any problems I have would not be MS-related.

Avatar f tn I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and since i was 12 weeks I have the tendancy to faint, i feel fine one minute and then the next im on the ground, but when i snap out of it i feel realllly energetic, its kinda weird. I asked my DOC about this and she said I need to get more snacks in during the day But I eat ALOT at least every 2 hours. I've heard this is normal through many pregnancies, but has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for anyone who can help.
Avatar n tn the first time i faint was on my first day in Gym, which the coach assured me its natural ! then after few weeks i got a feeling that i can't take my breath to the max capacity of my lungs but those symptoms went away after a couple of weeks ..
Avatar f tn I would think that the doctors would repair the bladder, uterus and rectal prolapse during the surgery. Prolapse of the urinary bladder, Cystocele, can cause urinary retention, frequent UTI's, urgency and frequency, and in some cases obstructive voiding resulting in reflux to the kidneys that may damage them. These issues can be evaluated with testing, Urodynamics / Cystometrics.
917177 tn?1243354247 Is it normal for one to experience lightheadedness and fainting during menstruation? It's happened to me so many times before, typically as soon as my period/cramping starts I'll feel lightheaded, sweaty, and I'll fall to the floor and sit with my head on my knees. Occasionally this happens in the shower, or upon standing up if i wake up with my period, or even if it starts while I'm seated during a class.
Avatar f tn My doc sed eat protein nd less Carb customer my body releases tons of insullin nd causes fainting. My friend fainted during pregnancy for being anemic nd iron deficant.
Avatar f tn Has anyone passed out while pregnant? I had a scare the other day at work. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and it's my first pregnancy. I went to the ER and they ran a bunch of tests and made sure the babies heart beat was ok. The conclusion was that I was dehydrated. Drinking more fluids especially water is so important during pregnancy. They said it's really important to listen to your body. If you need to rest than rest. Lesson learned.
Avatar n tn ) I think I pass out mostly due to me having really low blood pressure during pregnancy.. I would talk to your doctor about it of you're worried.
