Avatar m tn My daughter (15) has been taking asthma medication since she was 12 yrs. She is a normal 15 yr. old tom boy - loves being outside. She has recently had "attacks" where she says she doesn't feel well and ends up loosing consciousness. The first time it happened she was out for a good 20 minutes. This can happen at school, at home or, most recently, at the skating rink. She is sometimes light sensitive before the "attack".
Avatar m tn With Neurocardiogenic syncope, the fainting occurs due to a vaso response, an inbalance between the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system, which causes a pooling of blood in the lower extremities----a decrease in bp, cardiac output, which results in low oxygen to the brain.

Avatar f tn Recently her ENT noticed a second lower stenosis in her trachea. She has wheezing, trouble swallowing and coughing up flem, coughing, stridor and fainting. They were so sure they were going to do the cardiac surgery. We even had the cardioligist tell us that the surgery schedular will be calling us. He then called a week later and said that they decided they do not need to do the procedure after looking at her MRI angiogram again.
Avatar f tn I will be seeing an allergist again on Thurs. It is in the morning so hopefully I will have them to show him. I will arm myself with all my tests/results and photos. I have trouble breathing at times due to weather and whatnot and it isn't a dier need for help rather than it is just hard to breath. I do not have hives in my mouth. What are good questions to ask or tests to even ask for?
Avatar n tn m leaning towards a really terrible upper respiratory infection to cause the sinus problems, the bronch (or at least the symptoms), the awesome yellow mucus and the wheezing, etc. Allergies are common in asthmatics, but just because you're developing some doesn't mean, "Hey, you have allergies? Oh, yeah, it's totally asthma.
Avatar n tn Some of the most common symptoms are shortness of breath/wheezing, general weakness, lightheaded, feeling tired, fainting and these are only a few of the physical symptoms. I think its hard to determine the shelf life so to speak of a pacemaker because alot depends of the usage of the unit and how frequently it does its job...
Avatar f tn What you have is probably postural hypotension. The blood pressure falls when you stand and causes all the symptoms that you are suffering. Dehydration, certain medications, heart problems, untreated diabetes, and nervous system disorders can all cause this. TIAs or transient ischemic attacks can also be the cause. Certain epilepsies too behave this way with temporary blackouts.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if it can be totally unrelated to cardiomyopathy and more related to hormones? I am being treated by a cardiologist and we are trying the diuretic to see if it helps but so far it doesn't seem to. I am only taking the diuretic around the times that I expect to wheeze. I also am having a stopped up nose. Could it be allergies? But if so why only during hormonal changes?

Avatar m tn For the last five months, I've been with congestion, chest pain and shortness of breath. I've been wheezing a lot and I can't run a lap without wheezing for breath. I don't have asthma, or any health problem. Should I be worrried, and how could I relieve this?
Avatar n tn • Tell the doctor what happened, the date and time it happened, and when the vaccination was given. • Ask your provider to report the reaction by filing a Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) form. Or you can file this report through the VAERS website at http://www.vaers.hhs.gov, or by calling 1-800-822-7967.
4544453 tn?1356217645 I have been done with the antibiotics for two days now and I still have the same symptoms. Avatar f tn Also, you have symptoms of being dehydrated, and with the loose stools and diarrhea I can see this happening. Keep yourself well hydrated not only with water but orange juice, Gatorade (low sugar type) and eat bananas. We lose electrolytes when we have diarrhea and the above will replenish these for you. Also, you've probably lost all the good bacteria in your intestine that aides in proper digestion of our food, so eat yogurt every day enriched with probiotics to replenish this as well.

She began coughing and wheezing this past winter (Nov. through Jan.), was diagnoised with pnemonuia and put a azithromyican for 5 days and prednesone for 5 days. Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 28yr old girl and I've noticed that I get a lot of wheezing - but it's only present when I laugh. No chest pain or shortness of breath but I also get a cough. I've had this for quite a while and thought it would just go away. Just to clarify a few things: I don't smoke/drink/take drugs I weigh 7.13 stone/50.5kg/99lbs with a BMI of 19.7 (healthy weight) and I'm 5'3" tall.
Avatar f tn It is likely that you have a bacterial or viral infection that is causing the wheezing and congestion in your sinuses, ears and/or Eustachian tube that is pressing on the ear drum. Although the dizziness may also be due to that, you should get your blood pressure checked as high blood pressure or too low blood pressure can cause dizziness too. As you have wide spread osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, I presume that you take some form of pain relief or anti-inflammatory drugs.

This allergic response can take several forms, from rashes to wheezing, hives, swelling and redness. Cold urticaria is diagnosed by holding an ice cube against the skin of the forearm for 1 to 5 minutes. A distinct hive should develop if a patient has cold urticaria. Patients with cold urticaria should learn to protect themselves from a rapid drop in body temperature.
