Avatar f tn This happens due to impaired CSF absorption. A generalized throbbing headache worst felt in the morning and last thing at night. This headache is generally relieved on standing (consistent with raised intracranial pressure). It is aggravated by straining, coughing or a change in position. This headache is accompanied by various neurological symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, loss of vision, loss of hearing etc, all of which are temporary.

Avatar f tn The mainstay of the migraine treatment is always to identify the triggering factors and to avoid them. Triggering factors that may induce your migraine attack may be contraceptive pills, stress or depression, bright lights, loud noise and traveling. Other factors could be different foods such as cheese, chocolate, alcohol and even few fruits. Few women experience headache more commonly during the time of their menstrual periods & at the time of hormonal imbalance.
Avatar f tn I fainted at a train station, did my usual throwing up thing but I didn’t really come round from the fainting for a good hour. So an ambulance was called and after not being able to wake me and my blood pressure being ‘in my boots’ as they called it, they rushed me to hospital. Though of course by the time I was seen (4 hour wait) I was absolutely fine desperate for something to eat. The only thing they could advise was when I got home I should see a gynaecologist.
Avatar f tn I have migraine headaches with an awful sensation of pressure in my head, throbbing and ringing in my ears. I also have nearly fainted several times and my bloodpressure has been unusually high when this happens and my heart is pounding. An ER doctor suggested autonomic instability. Anyone out there have anything similar?
Avatar f tn Headaches, blurry vision and fainting are common symptoms of a pituitary lesion. An MRI should be able to detect this. Unknown food allergies can contribute to severe migraines. A registered nutritionist can do testing to find a cause.

Avatar n tn Chronic migraine, if left untreated, can last weeks, months, or even years. I have so much pressure in my ears and in my head that I can hear my blood swooshing and hear my heartbeating. And my vertigo is off the charts. I've had just about all these symptoms for a very long time, years, and I have a headache daily, but only got severe headaches 1 or 2 times a month, so I didn't even consider that I had migraine. I thought it was sinus pressure.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend was really worried (as was I) so we went to the doctor and he said this is common in migraine patients and its nothing to be worried about. But i am worried and scared and I dont know what to do. This anxiety and stress is horrible and im afraid this might happen again just because of the anxiety and stress this is causing. Can somebody suggest anything that might help? Thanks.
Avatar f tn This could be due to primary headaches such as migraine, tension or cluster headache. It is important that the trigger is identified and avoided to prevent recurrence. However, if it persists or the severity increases, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Dizziness, facial swelling, visual symptoms like kaleidoscopic vision, bright flashes, nausea, auditory symptoms like ringing in the ears and fainting are features of VertebroBasilar migraine. This requires further evaluation, please try and get a consultation with a headache specialist as you may need prescription migraine meds. Let us know if you want any other information.
1100598 tn?1413127426 Morphine is usually something I personally suggest migraineurs avoid just because it can cause nausea and vomiting, and why add more nausea and vomiting to our migraine symptoms... although everyone is unique and some people do find that this medication works for them.
621465 tn?1221537588 Several days ago I was trying to rest off a migraine headache. I had not taken any medicine for it since most pain killers upset my stomach, and it was already mighty upset. I guess I got up to go the bathroom and fainted on the way. My sister found me face down in the hallway, and she said I was non-responsive for about 5-7 minutes after she found me. At first I refused to go to the ER because the ER is bright and noisy, but eventually I let someone talk me into going.
Avatar f tn They did send her back home after the fluids and the meds. Now she has had a non stop headache and dizziness and nausea since Oct 26. Her family doctor took her off the Nadolol because she felt the dose was too high and with Tori's blood pressure dropping it was dangerous. She felt some better yesterday but woke up this morning with a very upset stomach and diaraaha again and she said her head is pounding. I need advise on what I should be doing.
Avatar f tn Today, I had PE right in the morning (around 9 am). I ran, and jumped up and down, as told, and all of a sudden I got a severe headache and nauseous. The headache ended up going away but I just kept getting sicker, so I asked my teacher if I could sit down. I felt like throwing up and, in the end, colours started fading away and everything went white. I couldnt see a thing. Not even shapes. Everything was just plain white.
Avatar n tn Woke up after 5 hrs of sleep with a horrible headache. I got up and took Advil and drank a cold coffee drink and layed back down with an ice pack. About an hour later I felt much better but have had a slight headache all day. I read the comments above and was shocked that anyone who has had this side effect continued on the med so long. I was a pharmaceutical rep and would advice to contact your Dr. to report side effects. They will work you through solutions or change the med.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your kind reply, His diagnosis by paediatric neurolgist is chronic daily headache which is the cause of all symptoms, however no medication has worked so far, and this is a child who has this headache every day and every night, noise sensitivity is awful, he is constantly nauseated or being sick, any form of physical exertion or concentration makes it even worse, he has had this headache for 10 months.
Avatar f tn Limit stress through regular exercise and relaxation techniques, Avoid bright or flashing lights and wearing sunglasses if sunlight is a trigger, Identify and avoid foods that trigger headaches by keeping a headache and food diary and Limit caffeine consumption to less than two caffeine-containing beverages a day. You can also try OTC pain killers. If still the symptoms persist, then please consult a physician for specific anti-migraine therapy. Hope it helps.
1051752 tn?1253833456 Imitrex on the other hand is migraine medication and will stop a migraine. Advil is not migraine medication and can cause problems by making headaches worse. Imitrex is migraine medication that is specifically for migraine and it will stop a migraine. Most migraines do not come with aura. Take that into consideration when you get a headache that feels exactly like your regular migraine just without an aura. That means you are having a migraine. You don't need an aura to have a migraine.
410281 tn?1254229064 A third study found that 20% of a sample group of people with MS had a family history of migraine, compared to 10% of controls, suggesting that there may be a common predisposing factor to both MS and migraine. Vascular or migraine type headaches have even been reported as the first symptom of MS." The question remains: If these Neurologists have gone through YEARS of schooling and spent hundreds of thousands on their educations, then why can't they get past the headache dx??????
Avatar f tn This is why a close collaboration with your doctor is important since much medications for migraine is trial and error for each person. Take care always.
Avatar f tn I have been having dizzy spells along with migraine headaches and weakness that just hits me out of no where. This has been going on since May 2010. 494976 tn?1302710701 anyway I had MRI and diagnosed with migraine, no epilepsy. I thought migraine was a pounding headache but mine is constant, not throbbing. I do feel sick sometimes but my eyes always look 'heavy' when I have the headache.
Avatar f tn I am glad your daughter's EEG turned out to be normal, and as the medhelp doctor suggested, it's good that a tilt-table test has been scheduled. However, if the tilt-table test is negative, before concentrating on anxiety as the sole cause of the fainting, please follow up on the advice of the doctor here and google terms like 'syncopal migraine' and 'migraine with syncope.
