Fainting and incontinence

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting and incontinence

fainting

Avatar m tn With Neurocardiogenic syncope, the fainting occurs due to a vaso response, an inbalance between the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system, which causes a pooling of blood in the lower extremities----a decrease in bp, cardiac output, which results in low oxygen to the brain.
Avatar f tn Neurocardiogenic or vasovagal syncope as it is also called usually has three phases—a prodrome, actual fainting and post episode phase. Urinary and fecal incontinence is also seen in some cases. If you can identify the triggers, you will be able to stop the fainting attacks. Since it does not always happen, go back to the few episodes and see what the trigger was. Try and avoid the trigger which may be as simple as standing up suddenly on an empty stomach.
494976 tn?1302710701 hi there, this is serious, I was told that the main signs of a seizure vs. simple fainting is the jerking and incontinence. PLEASE tell a neurologist ASAP!!! I have possible seizures too but am undiagnosed right now.
Avatar n tn I've had taxotere adriamycin and cytoxin for breast cancer. I am now having some incontinence and think it may be part of the nerve damage I've experienced in my hands and feet (numbness). I feel like it's not a very common side effect (if that's what it is). I also have a weak voice for about a month. I go back to the Oncologist next month for some answers.
Avatar f tn Therefore, if vague nerve damage, this can cause bradycardia( decreases heart rate) ,arrhythmia, voice changes, difficulty in swallowing, gag reflex, constipation and incontinence but its damage does not cause dehydration. However, vagus nerve effect can be amplified by dehydration (though dehydration may originate due to any gastrointestinal illness through vomiting or diarrhea etc.).
132752 tn?1273342273 In addition to the incontinence, I have severe dizziness and balance problems, a feeling of buzzing (like your phone when it is on vibrate) in my legs), intermitting numbness and burning-tingling in my feet and hands, blurry and double vision, and fatigue. I can usually stay ahead of the incontinence, but lately it has gotten to the point that passing gas means leaking, and then there was yesterday. Both fecal and urinary incontinence while I was at school.
Avatar f tn These symptoms have persisted for years (some longer than others) and have begun to deeply affect my life the past 2 years (I have failed 2 college classes for being kicked out due to absences for doctors’ appointments, oversleeping, and lethargy in class, as well as recently racked up medical bills after fainting episodes began). I have seen 2 Cardiologist, Neurologist, and Endocrinologist.
Avatar m tn You could ask your Dr for a referal to see a Urogynecologist to see if you have prolapse or not and they could look at incontinence issues for you as well.
Avatar f tn My chiropractor is concerned about this new development in my condition, and I understand incontinence is a pretty bad sign. The incontinence went away when I got a cortisone shot but came back worse when the shot wore off. I am very freaked out. Can anyone comment on this? Similar experiences or other thoughts? Thank you in advance for your help.
Avatar m tn what would cause a dog to consistently lose weight even though it is eating constantly, the dog has started to lose vision in both eyes (cloudy appearance to corneas) and has had problems with incontinence. The dog was recently on prednisone but was taken off due to incontinence issue. Please help.
Avatar m tn I think i have UTI and stress incontinence. I have seen a doctor and was prescribed citralka syrup (2-3 times daily) and some tablets (2-3 times daily) for 10 days. Would this be enough to cure these problems?

Avatar m tn A stent was left for 3 days and removed due to discomfort/pain and incontinence. There continues to be substantial blood when urinating and urination cannot be controlled. What's going on?! I can't seem to get an answer that provides me any path to hope.
Avatar f tn Symptoms include headaches, pain in his side, passing out (possibly seizures or vaso vagal syncope), vagueness when coming to and general weakness, pale, sweaty/clammy. Sometimes disoriented (doesn't know day, time etc). Incontinence is becoming more frequent (2 - 3 times a day) without being aware that it has or is happening. Often becomes agitated after episodes and then sleeps for approximately 1-2 hours. EEG is normal.
Avatar m tn Is it common to have urinary urgency and sometimes incontinence with Anxiety Attacks. It's real embarassing and then afterwards I feel guilty for not controlling my feelings.
359574 tn?1328360424 s really hard to go on a schedule at work, since every time I leave or return to my desk I log in and out of my computer, and that activity is part of a report I turn in with time sheets. I don't want to have to explain it.
Avatar f tn I am 3 weeks post-op for a partial hysterectomy and suddenly developed incontinence. I had bladder spasms within the first 7 days of surgery, but they went away. This just came on suddenly, and I don't see my doctor till Monday. This is horrible. I have never birthed children, only pushed to eliminate my colon in the past. Sometimes I have waited too long to go and have leaked prior to surgery, but it was from being too busy. The minute I stand I leak. I have to wear maxi pads.
1259599 tn?1294985827 If it is sweet smelling it's apparently amnio fluid otherwise it's probably CM and or urine. When I sneeze I have to try hard not to pee myself which is totally normal at this point in pregnancy. Same with laughing. Also some days we will have more CM than others and it's common to have to wear a panty liner and have to change it at least once a day from CM.
4943237 tn?1428991095 There are some good medications that may help in this area. They will likely also send you for urodynamic testing and a cystoscopy because incontinence can be associated with retention, which can cause an increase in bladder infections, plus there a few other non-neurological things to rule out. The stress incontinence is the initial leak. The bladder emptying (which I've also experienced but thankfully not for a while) will require a medical professional to evaluate.
Avatar f tn I have a question regarding urinary and fecal incontinence as a consequence of MS. I was wondering if any of you had experienced this, if it is treated and how? Thank you very much.
246236 tn?1275478902 30am and I had wet myself. Nota little, but my whole bladder. Even typing those words brings tears to my eyes. I'm 30 years old and I seemed to have lost control of a very basic function that I've been in control of for 27+ years. Is this part of the exacerbation I'm in? What causes it? I'm very sad by this right now. I'm off to get ready for work...my first day back in 2 weeks since the vertigo first struck. Thanks for being a shoulder for me to lean on right now.
9101689 tn?1401720149 So the past 2 weeks if I sneeze or cough hard a lil urine comes out, now I have been drinking a lot of water ( 1 bottle every hour) this past week bc I have a cold and I'm tryna keep my fever down. Also my baby boy kicks and lays on my bladder all the time...
Avatar f tn t see how having surgery a year ago and then having incontinence 6 months after surgery can happen. I was not sure if it's possible that this is a separate issue then my back or not. I am only fifteen and I don't know what treatment options are available if this is a nerve issue, rather than a bladder issue itself. I am not sure what to do. Any help?
1436598 tn?1332896533 Just bumping this up one more time. Today we have completely lost control. Floods of urine about every two hours, while sleeping, while moving, you name it. Gonna call the vet back Monday, but would appreciate any input. My house is up for sale, and pee-soaked everything is *not* helping! At this point I have a human incontinence pad down on the sofa and am trying to confine her to it (she's not happy).
Avatar f tn I have started having little leaks over the past few days where I have little mini accidents - and not necessarily when I am doing something. Along with that, I have the constant feeling like I have to pee even if I just went (though often it seems there is a little bit showing up every time so apparently I am not doing a good job the first time around?) I thought that perhaps it was a UTI (even though there is no pain) because of the pressure. Should I be concerned?
