t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon.
My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.

Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.

Never had a problem until now. He started with temp memory loss and the doctor put him on 2 Exelon Patches per day to help him with the memory loss and also he now on Oxcarbazepine 300 mg. My question is with him taking these two type of medications he is still having seizure and cant sleep. Me as a mother do know what to think and do to help him. Can someone help me with this.
I had great results w/ the patch, and was on it for 6 yrs until I had the choice of adding another patch to the 100 mcg one, or going back to pills (oxy,etc). The patch is EXTEMELY POWERFUL, and while it stinks that feeling you had when you up'ed your dosage it's uncommon- at least not the way I remember it. I didn't start at 100 I started at 75, then 100. Because of it's power there a few things I learned that may help you, at least I hope so.
Thank you. I notice you are in Cleveland and have a question regarding Mom. She has been treated for the last few years for Alzheimer's with an Exelon patch. I am not sure why she isn't on any other therapy but this is what her family doc has her on. She has not been "formaly" diagnosed however, the stress of the situation with dad has sent her downward very quickly. Unfortunetly without him, her anchor, her condition has become severe.
My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimers about 3 years ago, she is now 84 years old. She was diagnosed from mental tests and not from medical tests. Since my gut feeling telling me that there was something wrong I started attending clinic with her & my father, this was Feb 2008 when I asked what medical tests had been done, I was told they had been overlooked. The physciatrist duly did some basic blood tests & the results were OK.
Hi, I had a igg blood test done at 6 & 9 weeks and the results came back as type 1 < 0.01 and type 2 <0.5. Would I need to take another test at all? At 12 weeks to be safe?
my boyfriend has a white patch on his groin, on the left, just below the penis, he has had it for over three month. i was worried when i saw it. we decided to go for an STD test and we both tested positive for herpes 1or 2 ( wasn't specified). it took me by surprise because i had no symptoms and the results did not say it was a recent exposure. so i talked to my doctor he assured me that there's nothing to worry about.
I was telling her that effectiveness was failing after 48 hrs. She had do the urine test and it showed no narcotics in my system. I was wearing a patch that I had put on the previous morning, replacing the patch I had worn for 72 hrs. Any ideas or has anyone else had a similar experience?
biopsy and cytology was done. waiting on results. recently started excersing hard ie running and weights. my question is what are the chances this could be PRIMARY carcinoma in situ (cis). doc said" looked like a bruise". "area of inflammation" Q1- how often do you see red spots with cystoscopy and what percentage of red spots that you see on cytoscopy's performed that turn out to be PRIMARY CIS. Please don't sugar coat. give it to me straight.
