Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.
Avatar f tn Drug Withdrawal/Post-Removal Symptoms: Symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and headache occur following abrupt discontinuation of antimuscarinics. Similar symptoms, including disturbances of equilibrium, have been reported in some patients following discontinuation of use of the Transderm Scōp system. These symptoms usually do not appear until 24 hours or more after the patch has been removed.
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.
Avatar n tn I have been on 25 fentyal patch for 3 weeks and waiting for surgery on my hip. I want to come off of it, I am new to this form so excuse my spelling etc. any one have any tips on healthy withdrawal?

1703515 tn?1350500231 I heard that Klonopin may decrease the effectiveness of the birth control patch. Is this true? Has anyone ever taken the two together?
Avatar n tn I have used 75mcg fentanyl every 48hrs for almost a year and the prescribing md left the office and new md just changed it to every 72hrs. He says that it doesn't make any difference if I use it every 48 or 72. I know that is not okay with my body, but is to change or will I have withdrawl symptoms?
Avatar m tn I have 3 of the patches left and need to know what to do to wean off and then stop them completely. I cut one in half to make a 25 mcg patch and was fine for a day and a half then the withdrawal came on super strong. The one i have on now is 3/4 of a 50 mcg patch and i have felt ok until last nite when i started withdrawing again. Couldnt sit still, could sleep, felt nauseas, so i stuck the other 1/4 patch on.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
847512 tn?1272567062 Possible Side Effects of Morphine For many medications, the prescribing information carefully explains the exact percentage of side effects that were reported in clinical trials. However, the prescribing information for almost all older medications (including many morphine medications) include only vague information on side effects, with no percentages provided. Therefore, it can be difficult to know exactly how common (or how rare) the side effects of such medications may be.
Avatar m tn Dear Thorazineme: I am not sure what you mean when you stated "I am going to replace that for a short time with fentanyl patch". Are you under the care of a prescribing provider/pain specialist? It is extremely important for you to work closely with your provider in optimizing your pain management. Opioid treatment regimens are very complicated, especially with dosing conversion and extended release formulations.
Avatar f tn First, make sure that patch is properly applied and second, acquire the covers for the patch. Information about proper application of tjeeethe patch and the covers is is on the patient information you should have received with the medication. The patch makes dosing easy. Apply it and forget about it for 2-3 days. But if you are not feeing better after a few days, call your doctor's office and report your symptoms. Maybe the patch is not right right for you?
Avatar m tn I am currently taking Opana ER 30mg /2 TID for long term spinal pain due to breaks and fusions. I am going to try replacing that for a short time with a Fentanyl Patch to see if I have any improvement in Pain Mgmt. I am just wondering what regimen I should use to safely do this. For example. Is it as easy as waiting 12 hrs. after my last Opana ER and then apply the patch (it's a 3 day patch) then take another ER once the 3 days has expired?
Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
Avatar m tn Mollyrae has good information and knowledge of the Fentanyl Patch. However one of us have misread your post. She stated that you are back on the morphine. I thought you said you are on the Fentanyl but would prefer to return to the Morphine. Please clarify. And I do not think that once you take Fentanyl (25) and it doesn't work for you that morphine won't work for you again. We all have different systems and what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another.
Avatar n tn Thank you. I notice you are in Cleveland and have a question regarding Mom. She has been treated for the last few years for Alzheimer's with an Exelon patch. I am not sure why she isn't on any other therapy but this is what her family doc has her on. She has not been "formaly" diagnosed however, the stress of the situation with dad has sent her downward very quickly. Unfortunetly without him, her anchor, her condition has become severe.

Avatar f tn Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
1364139 tn?1280791344 From what I understand, from extended research on the fentanyl patch when I was on it a few years ago, the patch can lessen the effects of pain medications, anesthesia, or other medications that you may be given before, during and after surgery, or even have some other interactions...Course I am not a medical professional, but that's what I have read.
5611452 tn?1370971104 Just thought I'd let you all know that I finally fired my PCP. I learned a HUGE lesson through this. Do not trust that your doctor is on top of the medications they are prescribing, read everything before taking it!!!!!!! Most of you know I am awaiting my appointment with the hepatologist and one reason is to get clearance to remove a tumor from the inside of my spinal cord, which causes great pain since it is pressing on all of the nerves. I say that because herein lies the problem.
