Common Questions and Answers about Exelon patch patient information

exelon

Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn Thank you. I notice you are in Cleveland and have a question regarding Mom. She has been treated for the last few years for Alzheimer's with an Exelon patch. I am not sure why she isn't on any other therapy but this is what her family doc has her on. She has not been "formaly" diagnosed however, the stress of the situation with dad has sent her downward very quickly. Unfortunetly without him, her anchor, her condition has become severe.
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

Avatar m tn Is it matter of concern. Its a red patch very faint one. Am in 6th week of exposure (protected oral and protected vaginal).
Avatar f tn i have ben on the fentanyl patch quite awhile 100mg and have gone down to 50 mg, my health ended and my last patch ends in 4 days and im scared.
Avatar m tn Hello Berry. It's a unique situation. I live in Canada, she lives in Alabama. She was about to move here, but the night before her flight, was the car accident so I wasn't with her when they took her to the hospital. I am unable to fly to her, and she doesn't want me to see her in her current condition. Her friends took her to the hospital, but she doesn't want to release too much information to me, for fear of making me worry.
Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
Avatar n tn Medicine would be great if things happened so predictably that physicians could tell patients what is going to happen. We can't do that. Often we say "this is what usually happens" and the patient hears "this is what will happen. Example someone with metastatic cancer asks doctor "how long do I have to live", the doctor says "no one can tell for sure but most people with this degree of cancer live one year but there are exceptions longer or shorter.
Avatar m tn Or maybe check out the needymeds.org website... it has patient assistance program information and coupons for some medications... hope this information helps....
Avatar f tn Hi julie1224, I'm so glad that your Doctor took the x-rays but I know that you are frustrated that they didn't find an answer to your problems. :( I don't have any information about a "new" patch that is similar to Vicodin that is out. I couldn't find anything when I googled it. You might call your Pharmacist and ask him/her about it as they are up-to-date on every new med that is coming out. Did your doctor tell you what the name of the "new" patch is?
Avatar f tn Information about proper application of tjeeethe patch and the covers is is on the patient information you should have received with the medication. The patch makes dosing easy. Apply it and forget about it for 2-3 days. But if you are not feeing better after a few days, call your doctor's office and report your symptoms. Maybe the patch is not right right for you?
Avatar m tn She suggested that I use the gel patch but I need to know who makes a 12mcg with the gel. Does Sandoz still make this patch? I called a major chain pharmacy and asked but they acted like I was a drug seeker so I thought if I could find out the mfg. company's name first then I could ask them to order it.
Avatar f tn Then whatever they say something is going on and you need to seek more answers for him, ask for another opinion, ,as he has had a diagnosis of early Alzheimers maybe this is part of it, there is a new med coming up called Rember', it should help a lot of people Google it to get the latest information, it is on the 3rd year of Trials , hopefully be on the market in a couple and passed by the FDA ..
Avatar f tn ve heard horror stories from people who put it on the same place every time and seriously damaged their skin. Their docs never thought to mention it, and most people rarely read the patient information from the pharmacy so they end up with a royal mess of blistered and burned skin. I think the biggest complaints I've heard about the patches are that they don't stay on. As others mentioned, you can use any kind of medical tape to help keep the patch on.
