exelon

Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

Avatar m tn You need to follow all storage instructions. While, the drug in the patch is still available if not used at a stretch for 72 hours, there will be fluctuations in the dose if you remove and re-use. So if you find pain relief after a particular duration of time with the first application, you may not find the same relief after the same duration after re-application. However, it may work also. You can try doing it 2-3 times and see if you get adequate pain relief.
Avatar f tn I have heard other ppl say that their physician also told them to leave the old one on for a few hours. However when I was on the Fentanyl Patch the instructions from my physician were the same as on the insert. Remove the old patch just before you apply the new one. A small amount of medication may remain on the "old patch" which would most likely explain your higher than expected fentanyl levels. I would certainly discuss this with your new PMP.
Avatar n tn Each stay I would get 2-3 mg IV for about 24 hrs than would start by mouth day b4 discharge. Gave tapering instructions on discharge. I have 50mcg fentanyl patch. Have appt with pain doc nearby but not till next Wednesday. I am tired all the time, no interest to do anything, restless sleep at night. I am 3 days off. What more can I expect?
Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
1301089 tn?1290666571 When I was using the patch, at first I did flush them according to the package instructions, however, one time when I did that, I was at a friend's house - he has a septic system, not public sewer - and I ended up causing a MAJOR overflow.
Avatar m tn Plenty of oral fluids, rehydration, strict bed rest, NSAIDs over the counter, epidural blood patch to seal the dural puncture. Follow these instructions religiously for few days and you will find improvement. This headache is due to cerebrospinal fluid leakage and pulls on dural structures and membranes. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
767538 tn?1276575320 Ok everybody, I know I've posted some questions already about the patch but here I go again. I have filled my prescription but have some reservations about taking it. I'm looking for everyones experiences in your first week of using it both good and bad. How many of you continued to use it and how many switched to other meds for whatever reason and what did you change to?
Avatar m tn I am not sure if you got instructions after your patch to lay flat for a few days and keep hydrated....even once you are up I would not lift the children for a while....if the patch works you should know as you will no longer have the headaches when you are upright.... I am not sure also what you mean by pain...or sore ...so you mean where the patch was injected?
Avatar f tn If you are just starting on the patches it will take about month to get the full effects of the patch. Hopefully your doctor gave you instructions if you are switching over from a different narcotic. You should follow the directions carefully. If your having a lot of pain you should communicate this to your doctor as well. There may be something else you can take or he can adjust your doseage if he's aware of how you are doing. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
1542945 tn?1293356309 pain clinic doc said 50mg for 3 patches worth (changing as per instructions on box), next comes a 12mg+25mg patch (both at same time) for 3 patches worth, then comes 25mg (3 patches worth), then finally 12mg. First 2 w/ds weren't too bad.....I know what a full one feels like- I ripped a 50mg off and went cold turkey for 27 hours ----- thought I was dying! NOT RECOMMENDED!. Bad 6 day w/d when I started the 12mg patches.
Avatar n tn My scheduled delivery date for my Fentanyl Patch did not arrive until 4 days later. Where/When should I re-apply?
Avatar n tn Probably not. If you still have the insert that comes with each pill pack, it should have instructions about what to do if you forget pills, and will tell you whether you're protected based on how many you forgot and which week it was. But your absolute best choice is to use a backup method (like condoms) until you start your next pill pack. Your ob/gyn can also advise you on the matter.
Avatar m tn I'm wearing the patch, and it's helping me. My instructions are to put the patch on a hairless area of the upper chest. I'm a male so I needed to shave the chest prior to using it. I'm instructed to shower in the am, rinse and dry completely, and wait about ten minutes before setting the patch and drying the chest again with a dry cloth. The patch will have a slit through it. Bend it twice, remove the plastic and set on the chest.
Avatar f tn I would like to suggest though that you continue to follow your doctors instructions to the letter with the scopamine patches unless or until you feel you need to consider going to see a pharmacudical specalist. I say this because of a little knowlege about the origins of scopamine. Scopamine is in larger doses than your taking now, a deliriant,, and deliriants are not fun medicines when taken at higher doses causing everything from hallucinations, dissasociation, up to full blow psycosis.
Avatar n tn Never had a problem until now. He started with temp memory loss and the doctor put him on 2 Exelon Patches per day to help him with the memory loss and also he now on Oxcarbazepine 300 mg. My question is with him taking these two type of medications he is still having seizure and cant sleep. Me as a mother do know what to think and do to help him. Can someone help me with this.
Avatar m tn I believe in following the directions and instruction by the dr and what comes with the patch, the instructions clearly tell you the only places to put the patch, down there is not one of them! This is a powerful drug people don't believe so cause its a patch! Highly addictive and withdrawal *****! I'm on my 2 nd go around after being off two years!
