exelon

Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn The Novartis patch, called Exelon, was previously approved for patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s and it remains the only federally approved patch for the disease.
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn These dreams were very real to her and she would then argue with her husband about why he said he wanted to do these things to her. He, of course, knew nothing of these "conversations and situations" she thought were so real. Additionally, when she focused on a subject she could not let it go until someone helped her make sense of it. Often she has had angry outbursts over the past few years also, has been afraid of descending stairways, falling, and dark places.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
Avatar f tn I have been seeing a pain Dr who says I need to reduce abstral use or increase fentanyl patch which I do not want to do. This drug is highly addictive and I want a life without opiates.
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
424675 tn?1260541350 does anyone know if it is dangerous for me to use the patch after a week of withdrawal... you are only supposed to use the patch if you have an opiate tolerance which I normally do... so I guess my question is has my tolerance decreased to the poiint that this patch will hurt or kill me?? I know it was stupid of me to take them too fast and I know its not too bright to take a med that wasnt prescribed to me... I am in withdrawal and I cannot take the pain...
Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
1502015 tn?1289362434 I'm sorry you're having trouble with your patches. Some people do have trouble with them sticking (or not sticking). I'm not sure which type of patch you are on (gel or non-gel) - when I was on the patches, I was on the gel kind and, on the advice of my doctor and pharmacist, I purchased clear surgical type tape at Walmart and ONLY placed it around the edges of the patch to help it adhere.
Avatar f tn Congratulations! you are doing this. Question: how long did you use the patch? I am a non smoker for 9 days. I have to take the patch off on my way home from work since I start getting a slight headache which is gone by the time I get home. I do fine in the evening. I just eat a small bowl of fish crackers throughout the evening, one at a time - hand to mouth habit. This quit is like my 100th time and I don't remember what it is like coming off the patch.
Avatar m tn Unless you know the background of ALL the Drs it can be difficult to know how to compare them and which one to listen to. You may want to investigate those other possible reasons for your sons symptoms as they can cause issues with post op recovery.
650738 tn?1247126008 I want to be able to ask my doc to shift to these meds without sounding like some kind of drug seeker, I never use meds in a way not given by the doc, and even call him from time to time to get permission to take more OXY from time to time. How should I go through with me asking to shift to these meds without allerting him, he has been seeing me for over a year and knows I dont abuse the meds gives, its just at the age of 42 im net ready to lie around the house all day and have zero life.
Avatar f tn My husband has been on 75mg of fenadyl patches for about 5 years and when he forgets to put patch on the night he is suppose to he is sooooo sleepy. But he can only put it on at night on the way to bed because otherwise it keeps him awake. Tricky. It seems like he has to be so careful. I was just wondering if others have similar issues to these?
Avatar m tn He lives a few hundred miles from me but was in to see us yesterday when he mentioned that he takes a pill once/day instead of wearing the nitro-patch. They had him on the patch at first but he was allergic to it and his Cardiologist had to make the change. My friend is happy with the change. I have a bit of a problem with the patch. The skin gets red and a bit sore where I wear the patch and sometimes I think I might run out of places to apply the patch.
Avatar f tn I know i must quit smoking and for the last 2 weeks iv only smoked about half as much as i use to but i want to put them down for good so my health will get better because i want to live i have to much to live for and both my parents died from smoking related causes so i know what will happen to me if i dont get serious and quit.Im going to look into the patch and chantix tomorrow and thanks again.I hope im making sense but iv had so little sleep im allmost a zombie today.
Avatar f tn Alternatives may include semi-permanent hair dyes but 10% of individuals who are allergic to PPD also react to these. Patch testing to confirm sensitivity should also be performed prior to their use. Metallic hair dyes, henna, vegetable rinse hair dyes, and hypoallergenic hair dyes may be used but these do not provide permanent colouring. Currently there are no permanent oxidation type hair dyes that can be safely used by PPD allergic individuals.
1507560 tn?1294774077 t I have to want to quit more than I want to use? I find myself not wanting to answer this question. How do all of you get to the point of not wanting to use anymore, more than wanting to use. What is it going to take. ?
1934087 tn?1360475007 t have to rush it, I am thinking perhaps taking 3 months to get off of the 75mcg patch, down to no patch. I am now on 50mcg patches, but I have to take morphine to make up for the missing drug. I simply cannot handle the severely pounding heart, migraines and nausea from the withdrawals. Can someone please help? If anyone is in the Boston area, are there any docs that will manage the w/d for me? I literally can't even get any doc to talk to me, because I am on the fentanyl.
Avatar f tn Sandoz is another company that makes generic gel-filled patches. Call around to different pharmacies to see what brands they carry. I've found grocery store pharmacies to be the best in my area about special ordering for their customers if an item isn't in regular stock. The employees also don't play DEA cop like most of the national chain pharmacies do. Before you change pharmacies, make sure that won't be a problem with your doctor.
Avatar f tn The only way to taper off that patch would be for your doctor to go down to a 50mg patch for a while and then down to a 25mg patch. Best thing to do is talk with your doctor.
Avatar f tn And if you will notice even at 72 hrs all the medicine is still not out of the patch. And if you have to pay for these you definitly want to use every bit of it cause they are very expensive when insurance doesnt cover them.
Avatar f tn Me personally I like the morphine pump better than the fentanyl patch, I was on the patch for over 7 years and went to the pump. You don't need as much medication with the pump and your body feels much better. I had a pump for 13 years, the last one I had malfunctioned after 4 years and I had to have it replaced. I got an infection after the new pump was put in and they had to remove it, it's been out for almost a year now and I hate taking the oral morphine and diladid 24/7.
