Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
Avatar m tn I was on morphine SR 60mg twice a day for years and my doctor switched me to fentanyl 25 patch. I ended up with severe withdrawal and went back to the morphine for a week until my next appt where he put me on the 50 patch. Still I am going through withdrawals. My pharmacist says I can't be but I know 100% that's what is happening. Anyone else deal with this?
Avatar m tn I was on the patch also, and when I became tolerant, the dosage was rasied (in your case a 150mcg. patch should do it). When the dosage gets to high, a switch to a different opiod is warranted, and around you go!!! Good luck.
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
Avatar f tn And as far as your worry about addiction with the pills, I would think that you should try to stick it out with the patch...wait until you find the right dosage for you with the right BT med, and you may find that combination to be good with your pain. I find that the patch gives a more constant and level pain relief than pills, which can give peaks and valleys of relief depending on which one you take.
2107861 tn?1346470646 The Oxycotin use to work well for me but now they hurt my stomach so the doctor is wanted to take me off the Oxycotin and put me on a patch when I am due for my meds again. My question is does anyone if this is the right thing to do? If anyone has ever used these patches please reply with your pros and cons and any other info you may have. Also I have a 8 year old daughter and and a 2 year old chihuahua I worry about it falling off and them touching it!!!!
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
3222105 tn?1346080471 Since December, I've been taperiNg down my Fentanyl patch, after about 6byears at 100 mcg every 3 days.At that point I went down to a 50mcg every 3 days. I made the move because I had recentlycome across a GREAT supplement that really did what it said, as far as really helping with my pain, called Laminine, which I use faithfully and yes! sell it for 35.95 a bottle or 3 for 107.95, NO S&H! ANYWAY, though pain levels have decreased, I've become increasingly depresseed and SO fatigued.
1360851 tn?1277581906 Right now I am at 25mcg, which my Dr told me is where he normally stops and has his patients jump off at. I told him that I was aware that there is a 12mcg patch (the smallest dosage made) and that I would rather try that one for a few more months and jump from there. As I said, you may have to have something to keep withdrawals at bay (I have percocets for break-through pain). The only real discomfort I have had is the anxiety issue which I take .
17008026 tn?1453000615 Hi! During the last six months my weight has increased from ~135 (60 kg) to almost 175 (80kg) pounds. This happens even though my general level of exercise has increased and I just eat approximately 1300-1500 calories a day. I would have asked my doctor about this but he's not very accessible at the moment, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to get an answer to this type of question.
Avatar f tn I had been taking 20 mg opana 2x day along with 30 mg Oxycodone 4x day. My pain management doctor changed my dosage this last month to 40 mg opana 2x day and 30 mg Oxycodone 3x day. I have been on opiate pain medication for about 6 years, pretty much continuously. My problem is that since the dosage change, it seems like the medication is not lasting long enough. I start getting withdrawal symptoms within 4-6 hours of taking an opana and an Oxycodone.
Avatar f tn Did you experience it when you started on the lower doses of the patch or ONLY with the higher dosage such as the 100 mcg? I hope that this has helped you some and I'm TRULY sorry that you had to quit it as I believe that there is NOTHING better for severe pain. Best of luck to you.......
Avatar f tn For me I had to increase the dosage, I think about ever three years. I am now on the 50 mg patch with meds for break through pain. I do go to a pain management doctor, and it is much better for you to talk to your doctor about the pain not being controlled. Your body becomes tolerant and increased doses are expected. I am surprised your doctor hasn't already increased the dosage after such a long time taking the same pain killer.
Avatar f tn Why is it that some people only keep a patch on for 48 hours instead of 72 or other doctors up your medication?
Avatar n tn Depending on the dosage he most likely should not drive. The patch is good for before surgery to keep him out of pain. It's not great if he needs to function. Try not to mix it with any other pills or alcohol. He should not be taking pills from friends or family at all and especially not while on the patch. Monitor him because he may not be aware of what he is doing and might decide to take a pill.
Avatar n tn They obviously were already taking 200 mcgs of the patch and the question was about the heat, not their dosage. It's not a cookie cutter world, everyone it's different. Tolerance levels, renal test results, etc.
Avatar f tn My mother who has cronic back and shoulder pain is being taken off of fentanyl 100mcg patch and 7.5/500mg and being put on morphine 60mg 2x daily and then morphine sulfate 15mg every 4 hours for breakthough pain. What I'm wondering is there going to be withdrawl or is the morphine going to have enough of the same stuff in it. If not what kind of withdrawl systems will there be to watch for.
Avatar n tn I have been on 25 fentyal patch for 3 weeks and waiting for surgery on my hip. I want to come off of it, I am new to this form so excuse my spelling etc. any one have any tips on healthy withdrawal?
