Avatar f tn The side effects of Incurin (estradiol) are similar to the effects of any other reproductive hormone therapy and include: hair loss, swollen vulva, swollen mammary glands, and vomiting. The most serious effect from high doses is that estrogen (the active ingredient in Incurin) may have a tumour-promoting effect in target organs with estrogen receptors, such as the mammary gland. The most dangerous effect of PPA (phenylpropanolamine) is hypertension.
503702 tn?1276176714 Still bad side effects. My chiropractor suggested having my estrogen blood levels tested, and trying an experiment. Take Aromasin every other day for a few months, and see if it lowers my blood estrogen level enough. My blood estrogen level (estradiol) is now a *negative* 20! No nausea, just some neuropathy, swelling and stiffness, mostly in the morning. I can handle this. I plan on complaining about the side effects for the rest of my long, healthy life!
Avatar n tn However, 11 years ago, I underwent a complete hysterectomy and had been on HRT which I immediately discontinued at the time of diagnosis of breast cancer. My question is , if I am incapable of producing ovarian estrogen and I do not take any form of HRT is it necessary to continue to take tamoxifen? Have there been studies of women who had estrogen positive breast cancer while on HRT due to hysterectomy and stopped their source of estrogen.
Avatar f tn What is estradiol? Estrogen? If it is estrogen, this is used to thicken the lining of the uterus. I don't think this should continue to be taken. My doctor has me stop this on day 15 of my cycle. If it is progesterone, then yes, 12 weeks.... but depending on why it was prescribed. I would be checking with your doctor asap, as he is the best one to answer this.
Avatar m tn m not a doctor and I have no experience with medicine, but from what I have researched online about the hormones that control your menstrual cycle, and from my experience taking birth control, you could be having symptoms of estrogen dominance as withdrawal from taking birth control. It is easy enough from the North American diet for the body to produce more estrogen than it does progesterone. Both of these hormones need to be in your body for you to get your period.
Avatar m tn The fact is that Diphereline is not so well documented when it comes to side effects. Many of those which are known and listed for Lupron are not properly presented by the company selling this particular product. Our gynecologist did not inform us either on the side effects. Now she developed dry and painful eyes, dry mouth and joint pain. Had we known the full list of side effects we would certainly not do it. My question is: can we do anything to get rid of the effects of Lupon sooner.
1219499 tn?1410749730 I was also ovulating but she wanted to put me on Clomid for other reasons. I am also taking Estrogen in the pill form and she also wants to put me on Progesterone suppositories. I might just pass on the suppositories and instead do the weekly Progesterone shot when I get my BFP. My first cycle I had all the side effects - headaches (all day, every day), hot flashes, mood swings, and dry CM. This month my body must have been prepared and I havent had any side effects.
Avatar f tn How many places in your body produce estrogen? Instead of taking an estrogen blocker I asked my oncologist if I could just have my one remaining ovary removed. He said it probably wouldn't make much of a difference. Without breasts and ovaries where else does estrogen come from?
1112541 tn?1286311213 Charliegirl: So glad to hear that your doctor is open to alternative remedies. There are so many that are very closed-minded, and refuse to even consider alternatives to HRT or other prescription meds. Please keep us updated! SassyLassie: You are so right about taking progestins to "oppose" any estrogens that we are taking - especially for those of us who haven't had a hysterectomy.
1002364 tn?1250107254 yeah wanabb is right but I do know that cafinee and diferent things like that can effect pcos which effects the estridol or estrogen hormone. Do you have PCOS? Why were you asking? PCOS tends to have estrogen dominance but only cause you may not ovulate then you never get the progesterone you need becasue you did not ovulate. If you have had an US to show and blood work to show you are ovulating it is usually not an issue of estrogen dominance though.
Avatar n tn Hello, my wife had a full hysterectomy approximately 10 years ago and everything was taken out, EVERYTHING. She had a few cysts and her gynecologist suggested a full hysterectomy due to the fact that the cysts could come back if she were to get a a half hysterectomy. Long story short, she's a strong woman who really keeps it together but she has recently expressed that she's been battling depression.
Avatar m tn I was trying to learn more about if there was dangerous effects of eating to much dairy. Mainly butter and how much hormones like estrogen were in say a pound of butter. I only ask because I did something stupid last week and I ate a pound of butter in one sitting after seeing others do it on youtube.
Avatar f tn So have you had problems with a thin uterine lining in the past? I did several cycles on letrozole (femara), and never had to use estrogen. If the estrogen supplement is just given as a precaution, I would have them check to see if you actually need it...and if it's not necessary, just skip it. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn hello, i would like to know exactly how many days after taking the last pill of clomid would i ovulate. and can i have side effects of estrogen pills. also when i ovulate can i have breast tenderness and have pain on my right side ovaries those are the feeling that i have right know.
Avatar f tn I am personally not a big fan of supplemental estrogen. The information on it also very clearly states to tell your doctor if you are having unusual vaginal bleeding! As in, if it was not time for your period or you are bleeding more than usual, call your doctor back. Depression and anxiety are also side effects for some women who take it. Unless you have unmanageable hot flashes, I'm not sure it is necessary to put yourself through this!
Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
Avatar m tn I would like to take estrogen to help the menopause symptoms still driving me crazy one year after surgery and chemo for ovarian cancer stage 2c - I also had a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy as I have a history of breast cancer in my family - I have heard the HRT can increase the incidence of OC but I am wondering if an estrogen patch would be safe as I have had my ovaries, uterus, tubes, cervix, and breasts removed surgically.
Avatar m tn s muscle, skin, breast and fat), which is used to convert androgens (hormones produced by the adrenal glands) into estrogen. In the absence of estrogen, tumors dependent on this hormone for growth will shrink. For more information regarding this drug and side effects you can check out the website chemocare.com. Avatar n tn Are there any side effects with this disease other than the outbreaks? I'm having an issue with vaginal lubrication and I was diagnosed 3 years ago. And I'm wondering if this virus could be the reason.
Avatar f tn It does act as an anti-estrogen but also acts like estrogen in that it prevents the bone loss that other drugs like Tamoxifen may cause. It actually has the same side effects as Tamoxifen but not every person will experience all of these side effects or to the same degree. I'm not sure what you mean by "it made me ill" ... you may have the same side effects with the other drug but it's worth a try. Regards ....
Avatar f tn t women be allowed to have a small amount of the weak estrogen estriol present in their body to offset problems caused by not having estrogen? Why must ALL the estrogen be destroyed y these drugs - seems like serious overkill in my opinion.
Avatar f tn For patients with functioning ovaries which produces estrogen, the best strategy is to block the estrogen receptor in the tumor. Aromatase inhibitors only block estrogen production in the adrenal glands and these drugs will not be of benefit for patients with still functioning ovaries (since these drugs will not suppress ovarian estrogen production).
