I am currently 11 weeks pregnant with twins from a FET after a failed fresh cycle. I was put on estrace on day 8 (I think) of the cycle and I am STILL on it. How I understand the use of estrace in a FET is because your body doesn’t ovulate and so your body doesn’t produce progesterone and estrogen so you supplement with the progesterone shots/suppositories and the estrace until week 12 when the placenta takes over. :-) Good luck!! I started taking Clomid on November 6th through the 10th (days 3-7). I then took estrogen pills for five days. I was told to have intercourse every other day from the 13th through the 19th. I took an OPK several times during that period, but I never had an LH surge. Does this mean there is no way I am pregnant? I am now taking progesterone until I can test on the 30th. Also, should we still keep having intercourse in case I ovulate late? I thank you for your response?
Your estrogen does continue to increase during the first part of your cycle and hits a peak right before ovulation. The estrogen is needed to help build the lining and it also helps improve the cervical mucus. I'm not sure how much of an impact a low level has on day 3, as the levels are generally much lower then anyway. I guess it all depends on how much it increases as you get closer to ovulation. When I did IVF and they took me off my highest estrogen dose when the cycle failed, I not only had the sadness of the cycle failure to deal with, but also the crash - crash - crash of one hot flash after another, all night when I couldn't sleep. Extremely unpleasant. Hope real menopause is not like that.
Or on how estrogen impacts B6 levels? Has anyone had any experience with the use of natural progesterone or estrogen with B6 toxicity? Prior to this, I frequently used natural progesterone during the last part of my cycle (day #12 thru day #26). I hadn't touched the stuff though still dealing w/ this B6 problem.
Well, in general, estrogen is always low on day 3, since you're just starting a new cycle. Once the follicle starts to grow, estrogen starts to increase as well; and by the time you're ready to ovulate, estrogen levels are generally 200 or more. That's why I'm not sure how big of a problem it is to have a low number on day 3. It might not be an issue at all. Best of luck to the two of you!
Hello Hood, I had increase in my pain level when I had a menstral cycle. That is due to the Estrogen. With the incrase of estrogen in your system the pain goes up.That is how the system works.Why? I do not know. But There is definitly a corralation there.I kept a pain journal for years.I tracked the temp,the humidity,thedew point, barometric pressure,my menstral cycle and such and difinitly pain rose considerably during that time.So you are not alone.You are not imagining it.It is real ...
But either way, since this is an IVF cycle, you will be on estrogen supplements anyway to help thicken the lining and get it ready for implantation. And just FYI, I wouldn't try any natural remedies to alter your hormone levels. Certain herbs, for example, can actually interfere with the medication you will be taking....so always ask your doctor first! Best of luck!!!
clomid is known to thin the lining.. it depends when in your cycle you had those measurements.. also sometimes your utuerus can contract from the ultrasound and cause your lining to appear thinner than it is.....I know that sometimes people go on estrogen patches ( i think its to help the lining, but not 100%) but your dr has to measure your estrogen to check that first.. also progesterone in the 2ww helps as well! I imagine just switching to femara should do the trick in itself though!
