Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
20922415 tn?1661860103 Progesterone is one of the sexual hormones in the female bodies maintains and regulates sexual well-being. In males, it is produced in a small amount for sperm development. It is the main and vital hormone that plays a significant role in menstrual cycle health preparing the body for conception and development of pregnancy. 1.
126702 tn?1240888250 This then gets the body into menopause and then i start puregon injectables (gonal f) and then ovidrel and then IUI. Avatar n tn guess I am not sure what exactly the estradiol will do? I am on 3rd month of clomid, took 50mg first two months and now 100mg and now dr put me on estradiol (days 10-14) started the estradiol yesterday. Thank you!
546318 tn?1328193635 (the paler they are the higher the estrogen levels) This month the levels have gone slightly darker from day7 past ovulation. I am on day 8dpo today. So this means that my estrogen levels are lower than they were at time of ovulation. If you check my tracker you will see my bbt is higher than ever- 37c (my low cover line is 36.6) so my progesterone levels must be high.
655897 tn?1328018445 Hmmm! I'm not really sure...they usually check your estrogen before ovulation, and then progesterone after. Did your doctor say why he/she wanted to check your estrogen level after ovulation?
Avatar f tn t get pregnant that she was goin g to prescribe me estrogen pills to thicken my uterine walls. I did the clomid cycle and estrogen pills. Today I started my progesterone pills. Saturday I started experience lower back pain. I think I ovulated early also. I usually have ovulation on 16 day of luteal phase. I want to know if these symptoms I am having are side effects of medications? I'm currently taking. I forgot to mention I'm diagnosis with PCOS and currently lost 33 lbs.
1545670 tn?1302258058 Estrogen? Are you sure? Estrogen is usually higher before ovulation and then progesterone is higher after. I've heard that OPKs can pick up on HCG (the pregnancy hormone), though... BUT, my RE did use to say the same thing about stopping after the first positive OPK, as continuing can easily make you confused, since some get several days of positive OPKs, while others only get one.
405855 tn?1217100767 What is the correlation of estrogen and follicles? What should the estrogen number be before ovulation. Can this number be affected if you are taking Femara. On CD11, I had 5 follis - 20, 15, 18, 17, 16, 12 but my estrogen was only 23, is it possible? My lining was so think 4 mm only.
974298 tn?1324833193 I have been using evening primrose oil from menstruation to ovulation and flaxseed after ovulation but they don't seem to help with my cervical mucus as I am not seeing any EWCM.
Avatar n tn So is 4 your estrogen or progesterone level? And when in your cycle was it measured (with day 1 being the first day of your period)?
1027094 tn?1327429732 re on a birth control that does NOT contain BOTH progesterone and estrogen it is a combination pill and DOES ALL THREE. I was on Aviane, which is also known as Alysee and several other names, and bc pills like Yaz and others do the same thing. Look up how your specific one works, but I'm pretty positive that if it's a combination pill it works the same way.
790669 tn?1465189099 i would feel discomfort usually around ovulation time and during my period. i would also get bad migraines right before my period would come down- when i would get migraines i knew my period would come that night or the next day.
Avatar f tn the prolactin level is not soley the test to monitor your ovulation. Did you have other tests - like a thyroid lab test and the FSH levels? w/ estrogen - testosterone and progesterone? If you are not menstrating - for sure those levels need to be done.
Avatar f tn s it declines more rapidly until it ceases. During perimenopause our hormone levels (Estrogen, Progesterone, and Testosterone) decrease, and ovulation slowly begins to come to an end... If you're interested in becoming pregnant, my advice would be to start keeping track of your ovulation and menstrual cycles now. Also consult your Ob/Gyn if you have any concerns. The healthier and better shape you're in will definitely influence any possible pregnancy and transition into menopause...
1402796 tn?1282210284 Hi....I learned that once your breast becomes tender than you have achieved ovulation but I am anot sure....if your cycles are 28th day long than you should be fertile from 10-16 good luck and God bless... I am so sorry about your chemical pregnanncy!
Avatar n tn Your estrogen does continue to increase during the first part of your cycle and hits a peak right before ovulation. The estrogen is needed to help build the lining and it also helps improve the cervical mucus. I'm not sure how much of an impact a low level has on day 3, as the levels are generally much lower then anyway. I guess it all depends on how much it increases as you get closer to ovulation. Good luck to you!
1385769 tn?1279563060 Thanks. I'm taking vitamin E also, and I think it may have helped. It may have just been the timing, but since I started taking it my periods have been a little heavier, still not normal for me, but probably near normal for most women. In March, cd 10, I had a lining thickness of 3, then started the vitamin E. In July, cd 6, the thickness was 4 mm. That sounded better to me since it was thicker earlier. Now I'm on cd 15, took clomid - 50 mg days days 6-10.
691236 tn?1311199974 Sounds like your doctor is on top of things. If your hormone levels are low, it makes perfect sense to use progesterone and estrogen supplements after ovulation. I've only used progesterone in the past, but I'm currently getting ready for IVF and will be on both estrogen and progesterone after retrieval. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn Mid cycle bleeding happens in almost 30% of the women and is thought of as normal. A sudden increase and fall in the estrogen level during the ovulation period weakens the endometrium thus causing the bleeding. This is considered normal and the patients are usually given estrogen supplements. The most common cause for mid cycle bleeding in a healthy woman is attributed to the change in estrogen levels in the body.
1328473 tn?1335874467 m on clomid and my estrogen levels can be as low as 1500 at ovulation and this cycle as high as 3500 at ovulation. I was just told it's indicative of the amount of eggs / follicles sorry don't know where did you hear this? from your RE?
594914 tn?1245263684 Im not too sure either I know during my lap surgery my doc gave me a estrogen shot which have me extra wet and my breast have become larger and sensitive. So from what I researched I think it boost up ur % to become pregnant. Helps the egg plant in your uterus safer. ...........all from research hopes this helps http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/low-estrogen-levels-can-this-affect-ovulation.
Avatar n tn Hi! I have low estrogen and normal FSH (I'm 38, though). My course of action is to wear an estrogen patch from 3 days after ovulation to 12 days after ovulation (since that's when mine is dropping off). I have heard of (and tried it once, but didn't like how I felt) that the patch can also be worn during CD8-12 to help with low estrogen. My acupuncturist told me that the patch is the most similar to actual estrogen (versus pills) so I pushed for that!
Avatar f tn I have read to call your doctor if you cycles are longer than 35 days (even though i have not been trying for a year but only 4 months) and mine seem to be around 37-38. I've been using opks this month and on cd 23 and no sign of the big "O". Also using several different ovulation predictor calendars they say should have been yesterday.
Avatar n tn ve read on plenty of forums of women have outbreaks during ovulation. Estrogen levels are higher during ovulation, and there are studies showing that estrogen is linked to herpes. This is why women seem to have herpes more than men. It is just that women present more than men do because we have more estrogen. If I don't take the Valtrex, the outbreaks progress to oozing and crusting over. I really don't see what else this could be.
1201929 tn?1293708072 I think it's actually both. There seems to be a lot of confliction about it, with some saying it's the elevated Estrogen, and others saying it's the progesterone that causes it. I think I once read something though that says they use progesterone to help treat breast pain as well too though. Lol, sorry this probably wasn't much help at all. I would just say it's both.
