Common Questions and Answers about Elisa test results

elisa-test

Avatar m tn I have heard the that the Elisa/Western Blot test provides the best results. Are my results above just as accurate? Last, what can cause a low WBC count? I am currently going to meet with my physician to do some more testing over my WBC, but was wondering. I appreciate any feedback.
Avatar n tn At six weeks, I had a PCR DNA and a PCR RNA both undetectable and elisa negative. Also, at 9 weeks, I had an elisa negative and a PCR RNA negative. For someone who is hiv+ and has not developed antibodies, wouldn't one of the PCR's detect the virus?
Avatar f tn Hello, Grace. I've had contradictory test results for HSV 2 and I was hoping you could shed some light on it. I went to the doctor in February for a routine check up and asked for a STD screening as I do every year. I tested negative for HSV 1 and positive for HSV 2. I tested negative a year prior, but I've had three partners since then. One person tested negative, one chose not to get tested, and the third was not given a type-specific test and tested positive.
Avatar n tn The WB test is used to confirm your sero-status after a reactive ELISA test taken at the three month mark. It is not used to determine your sero status @ 4 weeks. The cut off point from which you can be sure of your HIV status is three months. Tests taken before then cannot be considered reliable.
Avatar m tn a) Antibody to HSV - IgG (ELISA) Observed values Negative (/=16to22Ru/ml Positive ) b) Antibody to HSV IgM (Elisa) Observed Values 4.41 RU/ml -> Negative (/=16to22Ru/ml Positive ) The Doctor told me the results were just fine and I needn't worry. And that there was no need to get tested again. Today I noticed these small white spots around the rim of my penis. Also, I feel a mild pain in the groin area. Does this look like Herpes?
Avatar m tn Hey guys, can i count my 60 days and 80 days negative elisa test results as conclusive? Is 80 days as good as 3 months? Thanks.
Avatar f tn So anyway I had a PCR-test for HIV 1 and 2 THREE weeks after that possible exposure and then again an ELISA-TEST of 4. generation THIRTEEN weeks later. Both test results are negativ. But my doctor is still advising me to let me test again 6 months after the exposure to be sure. Cant I just be sure of that i m definitely negative? Should i still be worried? Or am i possibly one of these exceptional cases by which the antibodies wont show up, even after 13 weeks?
Avatar n tn Is the elisa test conclusive for my relations prior to the latest one? Does the elisa test nvalidates the rapid blood test that appeared undetermine or whatever? Can i rule out my last relation given that use protection for vaginal and girl tested negative? What can cause rapid test to be undetermined? would the elisa test detect the antibodies is rapid test show a barely seen fainted line?
Avatar n tn Dear Doc (and forum readers), About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though. I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
Avatar f tn I Think It Was The ELISA But I'm Not Sure They Took Blood And I Got My Results Back In A Week...
Avatar n tn Everyone, I got my results today, Elisa - NEGATIVE, Western Blot - NEGATIVE, PCR - NEGATIVE. You all have been so wonderful. This was my first time being on the forum and you have made it so easy to understand what was going on and very good advise!!!!!!!
Avatar m tn I got my test results back. Did an antibody ELISA blood test last week, precisely 74 days after my exposure and it came back negative. Should I consider it correct? Thank you in advance!
Avatar m tn Of course ELISA test can be indeterminate. No an ELISA test is not that much different than a Rapid test. One takes a machine to process while the other doesn't.
Avatar f tn s not, because it is now known that the Lyme bacteria can and do *suppress* your immune system, and your immune system activity against a Lyme infection is exactly what the W.blot/ELISA tests look for. The test result of the W.blot/ELISA tests can then wrongly say that you have no antibodies against Lyme, and therefore do not have Lyme, when actually it may be that the Lyme bacteria are just not being located and reported on the test results. More than you ever wanted to know, I'm sure ...
Avatar m tn 3 months is when you can obtain a conclusive negative test result.
Avatar m tn worry about the half week to 12 or week and a half to 13 weeks , generation and manufacturer of the test cause on the paper only says elisa hiv 1 / 2 .i don t know if the generation or manufacter really affect the accuracy or in fact is the same for all elisas...... well ty for ur patience and advises.
Avatar m tn Your elisa is looking for antibodies and it makes no difference to your test results even if you did all those above things.
Avatar m tn ve 30.50.60.70.80.86.92.115 elisa test. it necessary to obtain the test to be negative anymore, all the days of 6 months?
Avatar n tn If you test too early after infection, the screening ELISA test that you had done could pick up early infection where the western blot did not. I would advise that before taking the western blot, you wait at least 4 months for an accurate test. If you are negative by western blot for both, and you have waited 4 months and your first ELISA value was between 1.1 and 3.5, then I would consider the western blot the accurate result here.
Avatar m tn i had hsv blood test by elisa the resultas was : IgM 0.2 IgG herpes type 1 is: 2.6 IgG herpes type 2 is :0.
