m very worried about the fact that I used an unapproved DIY test kit a couple of months back.. I tested again at 11 weeks after i took that test with a proper test in a lab and the result was negative too but I'm concerned that this home test kit may have been dangerous. Would it be possible to contract any kind of blood to blood illness from a test kit like this? It looked fairly clean but I have no idea where it came from really (apart from China) and that's what concerns me.
thank you sooooo much,cuz i dont know if u guys can buy the home-test kit for personel use in US or not,in china we can totally do that,but as u know my country's medical situation is way behind the others developed country,as I said,like we even have to go to another city to do "DUO" test or RNA or some other tests what really requires professional technics,it really bothers me.but as I mentioned my question about the needle?do you think am i in the risk of getting infected tho??

I had a potential exposure to HIV while traveling through Russia and became very scared. Upon arrival in China, where I was living at the time, I took the HIV test three times - 5, 7, and 15 weeks post exposure. All negative. Is there any reason that I should not trust those results. Are you aware of what techniques are now being used in China?
I am a 29 year old female, my possible exposure was over 18 months ago, i recently tested myself using a home self testing kit called EZ Trust Rapid HIV Test Kit (manufacturer is CS Innovations Singapore, product commonly sold by Labpro and Nexus Laboratories). I live in Sydney Australia so i do not have access to the FDA approved Home Access.
I am HSV 1 negative and HSV2 positive from a "specific blood test". I have never had any symptoms, but got a blood test because I believe ex husband may have had HSV2 Genital but he was never sure. If I did contract HSV2, it was MANY years ago. Test was done through LabCorp, who says the manufacturer was Trinity Biotech, and my score was 1.99 (they say >1.10 is positive).
I've taken my 2nd test from the test kit from www.hivkit.co.uk and the result turned out to be negative again. Altough from the website and the consultant says that its quite accurate i still have slight doubt. In the end i went to a lab test and get tested. the result came out to be negative! after 2 rapid screen test and 1 lab test, i finally have peace of mind!. take care , play safe and get tested!

Therefore, the official information provided by the manufacturer, and used by many laboratories, is that any ELISA ratio over 1.1 is positive. But experts in STD and infectious disease in general, and herpes in particular, know that only values 3.5 and greater are definitely positive.
As far as your own results are concerned, you are smack in the middle of the gray zone. One research study suggests that the HSV-1 result also should be taken into consideration.
worry about the half week to 12 or week and a half to 13 weeks , generation and manufacturer of the test cause on the paper only says elisa hiv 1 / 2 .i don t know if the generation or manufacter really affect the accuracy or in fact is the same for all elisas......

i had unprotected one night stand sex with some Chinese woman, i was in a bad anxiety later, as the City where i live in has no 4th generation tests for HIV, so i went to Shanghai and donated blood in the 4th week mark ( 30 days after ) and they said that my blood was qualified, at the 37 day mark i had 3rd generation test in the hospital which was negative, and at the 6th week mark i had 3rd generation ELISA test in the hospital and came back negative, please i want to know how accuracy are my

Just did the test for me so quick and he gave me the kit when the C line showed dark red, and he told me it is negative I put the kit in pocket and then I took the test kit to my car, the kit was wet because of the blood and to dry it I put it under the sun in the care ( it is very sunny in my country) after 1 hour I looked at the kit again and it did show a faint line in the T .
line at T area. hardly visible. (Home Test). facts is that ACON Rapid test kit is not approved in USA. Heard about it..
2month after Results are Test Value: 0.022 ; Cut off Value: 0.300 ; Test Result: Negative
My few Questions:
1) What result I need to consider as a final result.
2) Why this ACON test kit showed me a very very faint line.
3) Do u have any info regardin this ACON test kit are they approved by FDA etc.
I want to know how important is to know the TEST kit manufacturer while testing in Africa ( Guiney concreay). I am worried about standard followed in Gunia.
How can I be sure that I am not infected? Do I require to RETEST ?
