Common Questions and Answers about Eczema under eyelids

eczema

Avatar f tn The skin below my eyebrows and under the corners of my eyes is red and itchy and sort of scaly. My dermatologist said it was exima but nothing they gave me has helped. I use tanning beds and the 50 cent eye covers so I don't know if the adhesive on those is causing it but I would love for it to go away because my eyelids are super red.
Avatar f tn I now have a patch of eczema under one eye. I tried special products, control creams, cortisone (in small amounts-I have to be careful since it is around my eye), vaseline...the list goes on. If anyone has any ideas, I'd welcome them!

Avatar m tn Hello, Sometimes eczema is localized and present on 1-2 areas. Commonly adults have persistent localised eczema, possibly confined to the hands, eyelids, flexures, nipples or all of these areas. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn I've had a rash around my groin for 6+ months emcompassing my scrotum, the area between my scrotum and anus, around the anus, a little on the shaft on the penis, and on the pubic bone. It's very itchy more so at night. I've been diagnosed with jock itch and have went through tube after tube of OTC jock itch cream to no avail. i've also got a rash on my eyelids that is raised and flakey, not really itchy or sore.
Avatar n tn Hi, For 2 years I have had dry skin on my eyelids. The eyes get dry, sting a little an then get flaky skin or sometimes the skin will crack. Along with this my ears ooze a yellow substance from inside the ridge at the top of my ears, it then gets very dry around the ear. After the first year I started to get lesions/dry skin on my elbows and belly button.
Avatar n tn I'm a 24 yr. old female with a history of eczema. Within the past 3-4 months, the sclera of both of my eyes has darkened significantly. It looks almost like they are dirty. The darkening is limited to only where there is sun exposure (meaning that the sclera beneath my eyelids is completely white). No change in vision. No itchying or dryness. I do have a medical history of having recurrent inflamed and infected left eye since August of 2010.
Avatar f tn I quickly realised that the skin around my eye started to become red, itchy and scaly, reminiscent of eczema or some other dermatological condition, and this red scaliness was particularly bad on the eyelid. In fact, it gave the skin around my eye a badly wrinkled, slightly swollen appearance. I would wake up in the mornings and find my left eye “glued together” with this crusty, faintly yellow stuff and I would have to pry it open. After about a week of this, I visited a doctor.
Avatar f tn I do not infer anything more than a mild 'Asteatotic eczema' (relating to old age) .Application of coconut oil should be fine(not in to the eye but outer skin). Do consult your doc.
Avatar m tn My 1.5 year old has mild eczema, with some small patches around the eyes and eyelids. My doctor prescribed Locoid ointment (Hydrocortisone Butyrate 0.1%). I have since learned that there are serious side effects associated with topical steroid use around the eyes and eyelids, including cataracts and glaucoma. Without understanding the risks, I applied the Locoid to my child's eye area and eyelids daily for one week. I stopped immediately upon learning of the danger.
Avatar n tn for the past couple months my eyelids have had really dry flakey patches and i've tried everything to get rid of this from deep penetrating lotion to the expensive brands of corrective cosmetics and nothing has helped.also i noticed that when i wake up some mornings my eyelids have been swollen.thinking this is from the stuff i've been trying i had stopped and used nothing for a week and they still swell.some mornings worse then others and some mornings not at all.
Avatar f tn Hello, Although it sounds like eczema but eczema presents with dry itchy skin. There is no itchiness in your case. So firstly seborrheic dermatitis has to be ruled out. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how your son is doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar m tn I have had these red spots on both of my eyelids for at least six months now. They never itch or hurt, never any puss or leaking and they never get any bigger, they just seem to dry over and peel about once every couple of days but never go away. They seem to fade once in a while but never completely go away. I read that it could be a fungal infection from to much yeast so I stopped eating bread of any kind for a week and a half but no change.
Avatar f tn It does seem to help a little inside the eye (very little). I got some Benedryl cream (pharmacist recommendation) and put lightly on my eyelids but it burned so badly when I put it on due to the eyelid being raw, that I quickly took it back off. I then tried corticosteroid cream (second pharmacist recommendation) lightly.
Avatar f tn I posted this in the dermatology forum and didn't get any replies so I thought maybe this was a better forum to ask about this. Over the past few weeks I have developed itchy, red, burning, flaky, puffy eyelids. I thought that maybe it was my make-up (which I don't often use) so I haven't put any on in several days. However, the problem seems to be getting worse. Worst of all is my upper eyelids have become wrinkly and droopy (which I imagine is due to the puffiness?).
Avatar m tn I have been suffering from eczema on my eyelids for years and, recently, I have discovered that the application of a small amount of Gold Bond Body Lotion (http://****.com/largeimage/GoldBondMedicatedExtraStrengthBodyLotion14OunceBottleKqL.jpg) heals the problem if I use it daily. I do not get it in my eyes, but it does cause the tingling sensation associated with Menthol on my eyelids (sometimes my eyes water, but it does not get into my eye). The lotion contains 0.

I tried putting a thin coat of benedryl cream on them and it helped a tiny bit with the itching.
Avatar f tn I have eczema all over my body and withing the past year i have swollen eyelids, with extra wrinkles. my eyes are also itchy. What can i do so that my eyes aren't disgusting and itchy?
Avatar n tn I am a 22 y/o male that about 3 weeks ago had unprotected sex with a girl I know and started developing dry skin on my eyelids/ near eyes as well as hands and under the shaft of my penis, which popped up about a week ago. It itches really bad. There is a small bump under the shaft. Do I have an STD, and what should I do to treat all of this?
Avatar f tn I have had this red area on my eyelids for 2yrs + now that flares up when I do not use the hydrocortisone cream prescribed for it. I was told it was eczema but it looks more like psoriasis to me, which I currently have on my scalp. I do have diabetes and hypothyroidism, both autoimmune. Link to photo: https://postimg.org/image/ve18etp09/ or https://s27.postimg.org/nmwk34yo3/2017_01_16_09_53_01.jpg . I have also developed dry flaking inside my ears. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I have gone to my dermatologist who diagnosed it as eczema and gave me a steroid cream. I do not have this any other place other than near my eye. The first round seemed to work some, it lessened on my left eye, but then started appearing some on my right eye. Long story short, I went back a few more times, got different creams, and same-ish result. My sister had an eyelash mite infestation and it got me thinking I could have a similar issue.
Avatar n tn Hi For the past 2 years my eye lids will peel. They will be fine and then they are all red and peel. Sometimes it is so bad that I look like I have "sleep" on my eyelids and it's the skin peeling. I have been to 2 eye doctors and 2 dermatologists. I keep getting different ointments Propotic (burned my eyes), told to use Cetaphil products, given nystatin and triamcinolone ointment and desonide....Nothing works....
Avatar f tn cheeks, upper eyelids n under eyes (redness) n under my neck. It did leave some darkenin of skin from scratchin. Cold compresses does relieve it some what. I just have to resist from scratchin (so i rub it) as this eventually calms it down. i m goin to dr. soon. I do take benadryl but only at nite as it does put me to sleep. I don't think its psoriasis. Nothin is there till i scratch. What do you think?
