eczema

Avatar f tn It does seem to help a little inside the eye (very little). I got some Benedryl cream (pharmacist recommendation) and put lightly on my eyelids but it burned so badly when I put it on due to the eyelid being raw, that I quickly took it back off. I then tried corticosteroid cream (second pharmacist recommendation) lightly.
Avatar n tn Itchy, flaky, red (and puffy) skin in patches around my eyelids, on/in my ears and on my nipples and even at the corner of my mouth that, at the most severe, was very painful and would crack and bleed (did not notice anything around the groin). I became incredibly frustrated, with my eyes looking so bad and hurting so much it was a mission just to leave the house. I went to a doctor who prescribed a Betnesol cream. Within a day the condition was markedly better.
Avatar m tn I have had these red spots on both of my eyelids for at least six months now. They never itch or hurt, never any puss or leaking and they never get any bigger, they just seem to dry over and peel about once every couple of days but never go away. They seem to fade once in a while but never completely go away. I read that it could be a fungal infection from to much yeast so I stopped eating bread of any kind for a week and a half but no change.
Avatar m tn My 1.5 year old has mild eczema, with some small patches around the eyes and eyelids. My doctor prescribed Locoid ointment (Hydrocortisone Butyrate 0.1%). I have since learned that there are serious side effects associated with topical steroid use around the eyes and eyelids, including cataracts and glaucoma. Without understanding the risks, I applied the Locoid to my child's eye area and eyelids daily for one week. I stopped immediately upon learning of the danger.
Avatar m tn No Justin it could not. If this continues to be a problem or upset you see an oculoplastic surgeon. Find one near you at www.aao.
Avatar n tn Hi, For 2 years I have had dry skin on my eyelids. The eyes get dry, sting a little an then get flaky skin or sometimes the skin will crack. Along with this my ears ooze a yellow substance from inside the ridge at the top of my ears, it then gets very dry around the ear. After the first year I started to get lesions/dry skin on my elbows and belly button.
Avatar m tn I am a 29 y/o male, have a history of red, itchy, flaky eyelids. Recently the redness and flakiness have progressed to cover my cheeks, eyebrows, middle of forehead. The itchiness is now subsided and I am left with very noticeable hypopigmentation in these affected areas. There is a sharp line on both cheeks demarcating the normal area from the affected area. I wash with cetaphil face wash and afterwards the areas are extremely dry and flaky.
Avatar f tn The skin below my eyebrows and under the corners of my eyes is red and itchy and sort of scaly. My dermatologist said it was exima but nothing they gave me has helped. I use tanning beds and the 50 cent eye covers so I don't know if the adhesive on those is causing it but I would love for it to go away because my eyelids are super red.
Avatar f tn I have had this red area on my eyelids for 2yrs + now that flares up when I do not use the hydrocortisone cream prescribed for it. I was told it was eczema but it looks more like psoriasis to me, which I currently have on my scalp. I do have diabetes and hypothyroidism, both autoimmune. Avatar m tn Hello, Sometimes eczema is localized and present on 1-2 areas. Commonly adults have persistent localised eczema, possibly confined to the hands, eyelids, flexures, nipples or all of these areas. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I do not infer anything more than a mild 'Asteatotic eczema' (relating to old age) .Application of coconut oil should be fine(not in to the eye but outer skin). Do consult your doc.
Avatar f tn I posted this in the dermatology forum and didn't get any replies so I thought maybe this was a better forum to ask about this. Over the past few weeks I have developed itchy, red, burning, flaky, puffy eyelids. I thought that maybe it was my make-up (which I don't often use) so I haven't put any on in several days. However, the problem seems to be getting worse. Worst of all is my upper eyelids have become wrinkly and droopy (which I imagine is due to the puffiness?).
Avatar m tn I have been suffering from eczema on my eyelids for years and, recently, I have discovered that the application of a small amount of Gold Bond Body Lotion (http://****.com/largeimage/GoldBondMedicatedExtraStrengthBodyLotion14OunceBottleKqL.jpg) heals the problem if I use it daily. I do not get it in my eyes, but it does cause the tingling sensation associated with Menthol on my eyelids (sometimes my eyes water, but it does not get into my eye). The lotion contains 0.
Avatar m tn So I have a dry patchy skin behind my right ear and a spot about the size of a penny above my left ear. My eyelids are dry enough I have to rub cream on them or they look flaky. This is not typical of me. I also have same type of spots on my scrotum (two of them) same thing size of a penny. Also have on below my penis head that is more oval like but same type of patchy skin.

I tried putting a thin coat of benedryl cream on them and it helped a tiny bit with the itching.
Avatar m tn Looking at pictures, I do not have any lesions or white pimple looking bumps that a lot of the pictures have. But I do have red areas on my penis though. I went to the doctor 3 weeks ago and he said it is not Herpes, but he is just a general practitioner doctor. Any more insight?
Avatar f tn Hi. Since May of this year (2011) I've suddenly got this persistent itchiness on both my eyelids. It started out itchy then it swelled the next day which lasted for a couple of days with the help of hydrocortisone. Then when the swelling died down, both my eyelids became flaky. The itchiness remained and travelled all over my face. Only my eyelids showed visible flakes while the rest of my face just turned blushed from the scratching. It really feels inflammed.
Avatar f tn I have eczema all over my body and withing the past year i have swollen eyelids, with extra wrinkles. my eyes are also itchy. What can i do so that my eyes aren't disgusting and itchy?
Avatar f tn The relationship this to your surgery is asurely coincidental. There is a discussion on puffy swollen eyelids with over 600 posts that has been gone on for over 2 years. Or see an ophthalmologist find one near you at www.aao.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the pictures it looke like eczema. . It is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, certain foods, plants, metals, cosmetics, dust mites etc. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin.
Avatar m tn At first i thought i was allergic to the new colorful wrap they put around when they draw blood, untill it developed on the other arm too. I never associated it with my eczema, as thats always on my hands. Did you ever find out what it is??? If so what was it, because im dying to get it treated. Its been super warm, and it honestly looks like someone was shooting up and had a reaction. I get lots of stares. Sometimes i wish theyd stare at my baby bump instead because its not *as* awkward!
Avatar n tn Hi For the past 2 years my eye lids will peel. They will be fine and then they are all red and peel. Sometimes it is so bad that I look like I have "sleep" on my eyelids and it's the skin peeling. I have been to 2 eye doctors and 2 dermatologists. I keep getting different ointments Propotic (burned my eyes), told to use Cetaphil products, given nystatin and triamcinolone ointment and desonide....Nothing works....
