Furthermore, low progesterone levels increase the risk of miscarriage in early pregnancy. Experts, therefore, recommend that in these cases progesterone should be given to support the pregnancy.
Avatar m tn Are they referring to people with active eating disorders who are in a compromised medical state and more prone to seizing, or will anyone who has ever had an eating disorder be denied this med? Or would they have to recommend it?

Avatar n tn Hi there, There may be delay in periods sometimes due to pregnancy, stress, hormonal fluctuations, thyroid disorders, ovulation dysfunction, eating disorders etc.If you are not on any contraception pregnancy is a possibility. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn m probably beginning to sound like a broken record to some on this board, but there are a couple of things that you can try. You can try eating an apple prior to sitting down to a meal - that will help you fill up some so you won't eat so much. A large glass of water can do the same thing. Try using a smaller plate and you can have a plate full, but it just won't be as much food.

Avatar f tn If pregnancy tests are negative other common causes of missed periods are stress, anxiety, eating disorders, too much of exercise etc.Hormonal imbalances, ovulation dysfunction and thyroid disorders are other conditions causing irregular delayed periods. Visiting a gynecologist and a clinical examination will be useful in determining the cause of your symptoms. Treatment will depend on the cause. Keep me posted. Best wishes and regards!

Avatar n tn A progesterone deficiency can cause a miscarriage in the early weeks of a pregnancy which is what happened to me. Also a progesterone defiiency can cause autoimmune diseases, so you may want to look into having your hormones checked. I have learned that blood tests may not reveal progesterone deficiency (as in my case), however I went to a natural/homeopathic specialist who tests hormones using your saliva.
