I was dumb enough to try ear candling even though studies show it doesn't do what is intended. People swear it helps them and I had been having congested ears. Long story short hot wax from the candle dripped into my ear and now I am in pain. This morning a piece of "candle" wax came out of my ear but I am almost certain there is more in there. My hearing is muffled and when i move my head while sleeping the crackling wakes me up. Any advice or solutions?
Ear candles have no proven benefit in the removal of earwax or other objects in the ear and can cause serious injury. Gently rinse the ear using a bulb syringe and warm saline solution. To ease ear pain, apply a warm washcloth or a heating pad set on low. Follow the instructions for ear drops and complete your antibiotic course. You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain.
However, if symptoms worsen, consult your doctor.

t start the ear wax removal kit on the left ear today but I did take the other drugs and some advil in hopes of getting some good sleep. I just woke up a bit ago with my left ear now ringing extremely loud (this was supposed to be the non-infected ear). This is 16 hours after I saw the doc so I'm just a little surprised if this ear happens to be infected as well.
No need to worry, you are mostly alright but I am questioning the professionalism of the doc who did the test for you. Because here in Singapore, whenever anyone does the rapid test, they are shown their kit to confirm their results and clear any doubts they have. It would be better for you to actually redo the test at another place, hope this clears your doubts and worries. Cheers!
My husband is a doctor so we have exhausted the medical community, ENT, neurologist, internal medicine, chiropractic and all tests, MRI, CAT scan and the official vertigo test at the ENT. Nothing found anything. I finally heard about ear candling. I used 5 in one ear and 6 candles in the other and had INSTANT relief and these candles were full of wax and yeast. Hi, i had an exposure in 2008 and i have now plucked up enough courage to learn of my status. I have come across an HIV testing kit online (from singapore) i would like to know are they accurate? or would it be a waste of my money? During the 40 sexual encounters I had a total of 5 HIV Alere Determine HIV 1/2 Rapid test, I tested until May 2012 and it all came back non reactive, I abstained from sex in 2014 and tested for HIV rapid test on 18 March and 26th March 2015 and it also came back non reactive.
I bought a rapid test off the Internet. I did this because I am working in South East Asia in a country where HIV positive people are reported and then deported.
