Interesting that you had a test for Ureaplasma; most STD experts recommend against such testing, since Ureaplasma is generally considered a normal bacteria in the genital tract and most experts are not certain it ever causes disease. We never test for it in my STD clinic. However, this is a somewhat controversial area. In any case, since your test became negative after treatment, I see no reason for continued concern about it.
i am going back to the gum the next time i can get away from work, but no one has been able to tell me what kind of infection this is or what kind of treatment will work. i would think it was only bv but the doctor said that it was an infection of some kind. so what kind of infection cannot be cured with all these antbiotics?

You are correct when you assume I asked the GUM clinic staff the same questions, however frustratingly, the nurse practitioner refused to answer any questions I had regarding potential interferences between simultaneous (or thereabouts) use of azithromycin and doxycycline. I want to be 100% sure I clear any potential infection so that's why I wanted to use both.

I also took a 150mg pill of Fluconazone. Didn't have much effect. Went again to the GUM clinic, but as I don't have any external symptoms (no thrush, my glans looks fine) they didn't test me for candida.
I agree your original symptoms indeed were due to chlamydia, even though it is atypical for urethitis to cause urinary urgency or frequency. I'm sure the GUM clinic sees many patients with such atypical symptoms, as we do in my STD clinic. But still it is a small minority of men with NGU or chlamydia who have such complains. Generally it's discharge with or without fairly mild discomfort on urination, without frequency or urgency.
had oral sex with an escort 15 months back, but developed gum bleeding afterwards, was treated completely with oral antibiotics (tetracycline). had sex with same person 17 months back,but this time i had urethritis and gum bleeding, again had tetracyclines, but with an initial improvement, it took a protracted and non remitting course with persistent urethritis. it went on with new symptoms like testicular pain, pain during ejaculation, burning during urination, dry cough sometimes.

I have been using doxycycline, I have had trouble urinating still I had oral sex about 3 months ago. First my penis was going numb and then it went away.
Well, I caught something on February 22nd of this year after receiving oral sex. I'm male by the way. I have tested TWICE for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea and came clean and one test for NGU which I came clean. I was first given Zithromax 1.5g over three days which helped the discomfort in my urethra. Why would I still have urethal symptoms after all this time, which are slightly different to my intial chlamydia symptoms as in I have no discharge this time maybe just a wet feeling at end of penis but nothing on underware, And sometimes the sensation can feel more on the gland than in the uretha! I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?
I took single dose of doxycycline everyday for 6 weeks during the summer. Would that have cleared a chamydia infection.

Hi . me and my boyfriend have been together for a year and went to the GUM clinic when we first got together and got checked out , where i was diagnosed with PID i was treated for this twice. i then came out in warts and am still getting treatment for them as they are been stubborn and because i am now pregnant they are more hard to get rid of .
