Dovonex and pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Dovonex and pregnancy

dovonex

Avatar n tn Ive done some research on what it is, and there is no link between Psoriasis(which is what dovonex is used for) and Pytriaisis Versicolor or even Tinea Versicolor, or any other fungal infections for that matter. I know this disease takes time to go away, but i dont want to be using the wrong medicine and still have no results by summer....
Avatar m tn Hello, Daivobet contains Calcipotriol/Betamethasone and may cause skin reddening and even skin color changes. Dovonex contains calcipotriene and may cause skin irritation, Rash, pruritus, dermatitis and worsening of psoriasis. Hence use it only after getting it prescribed from your doctor. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
766574 tn?1238465473 Just like at the Dead Sea spa in Israel I called and asked what there treatment was and then just did it myself at home. Sun, mud, sea salt bath and message. Also, I would think about what foods your eating. Your okay. I healed it- it's your nervous system. Don't be angry, or upset --relaxation.
Avatar m tn There are many treatment options for psoriasis, chief ones being cognitive behavior therapy, creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone, fluocinonide, vitamin D3 analogues and retinoids and phototherapy and photochemotherapy. Psoriasis that is resistant to topical treatment and phototherapy is treated by medications that are taken internally by pill or injection. Apart from Dovonex(Calcipotriene Ointment), these treatment options can also be used.
Avatar n tn Can eczema and/or psoriasis be painless and non-itchy, especially if it is localized? Could eczema cause tingling of the skin? I had small red patches on my penis glans that tingled, but did not itch or burn.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am really really concerned about a burn scar which I have on my left hand. I burned my hand with hot wax in a little area about a size of a quarter about 6 months ago. Now I have a white scar on that area. I've been to a dermatologist and they prescribed me Dovonex and Vectical ointment. I've been using Dovonex and now I'm using Vectical. The dermatologist told me I should keep putting the ointment on before I think of doing something else.
Avatar f tn I have been switched to Dovonex for the treatment of psoriasis, but experienced achey joints and hormonal fluctuations after prolonged use of Desonide (0.05%). I was wondering if this is just a coincidence (that I am just naturally predisposed to having thyroid problems) or if I misused the ointment.
520292 tn?1232035850 Psoriasis is a non-contagious disorder affecting the skin and joints which commonly causes red scaly patches called psoriatic plaques, are areas of inflammation and excessive skin production. Skin rapidly accumulates at these sites and takes on a silvery-white appearance. Plaques frequently occur on the skin of the elbows and knees. There may be many causes which may appear to aggravate psoriasis - stress, alcohol and smoking are some of these.
Avatar n tn Hello, my six month old son was born with ILVEN. It starts on the back of his shoulder and goes down his arm to the crease of his arm. We have been going to a pediatric dermatologist since we first noticed it. They did a biopsy and it came back as ILVEN. His dermatologist prescribed dovonex and a steroid cream I apply twice daily. I have been doing this for 3 months now and I don't see any change at all. Our next appointment is in another 3 months to check it.
Avatar m tn I saw my ENT doc which is very good and he notices I have redness on my face (cheeks), he recommended me to try Elidel. Today I am using Rozex and it helps and prevent Flares but still there is some redness. I am now 6 weeks post EOT, UND and hope to stay UND. Someone has experience with Elidel ? Can it cause any problem to the liver or to the treatement ?
Avatar f tn I have been on betamethasone, desonide, dovonex (for a year) and, now, clobetasol (once a day). I will be undergoing phototherapy in a month. My question is whether or not it is safe to have phototherapy on thinning skin. Also, should I treat thinning skin with moisturizers or is there another solution? I have terrible bruising; but the cream seems to be working.
20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.
Avatar f tn I use to take desonide and betamethasone for the skin, but got switched over to dovonex in the summertime. I have daily nausea and vomit occasionally because of it. Last week, I threw up because of standing up too fast. I'm very lightheaded and occasionally get a numb feeling at the top of my head, my cheeks and my tongue.

Avatar f tn did you tell your doctor you're late?
Avatar n tn Of these, Free T3 is the most important because Free T3 largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. (note that Free T3 and T4 are not the same as Total T3 and T4). From just looking at your lab results in light of my experience, I see nothing there to be alarmed about. Your Free T3 is above the midpoint of its range and Free T4 is also within range, though it is in the lower quarter of the range.
2176548 tn?1340677817 However this does not happen in early pregnancy. Also pregnancy cannot be diagnosed based on symptoms only. If periods are missed then a pregnancy test can be taken. Serum HCG levels and an ultrasound scan will help confirmation of pregnancy. Hope this helps.
2006473 tn?1422033301 I learned I had PCOS at a early age, I was 16 (currently 31 yrs old) I had started my periods when I was 11 and then by the age of 16 I had nothing! was put on the pill to regulate but since I wasn't sexually active at the time I forgot to take them all the time. Got back on the pill at 18, went off the pill at 26 (2006). Continued to have a period that first yr off the pill. Then 3 times a year, and then nothing from 2008 - 2009.
Avatar f tn I'm 7 weeks pregnant and contracted a uterus infection and my doctor prescribed me two cycles of 1000mg of azithromycin and I'd love a second opinion!
Avatar f tn I read online that your cervix is very sensitive during pregnancy and its possible my bf irritated, or (to be blunt) went too deep and made me bleed. Like I said, there was no pain or cramps or anything of that nature. I didnt even know I was bleeding. It wasnt alot, but it wasnt a little. Has anybody else had this problem, should I be worried?
Avatar f tn If you do get pregnant you need to test immeidately and probably increase meds about 20%. Testing during pregnancy is montly, and meds may need to be increased quite a bit.
2050045 tn?1343153733 I forgot to say that my best friend was 3 weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy- she posted the moment she knew around 4 weeks. At 9 weeks she found out there was no heart beat, and had to have a D & C. She was devastated, and even now people post on fb 'how's the pregnancy going?' cuz they dot know she lost the baby... I don't want to have to explain 100x that I lost it if it happens...
1943295 tn?1388239324 My main concern I guess is handling the fish and bait (I love using worms and minnows) was safe or not? I always have sani wipes in the tackel box to keep the bacteria at a minimum!
Avatar f tn Congrats on your pregnancy and tapering down on the pills. When you see your OB make sure you tell them everything you have done. They will be able to set your mind at ease. You quit early in your pregnancy and that is a good thing. As long as you stay off the drugs your baby wont be born with wd's. Have you thought about talking to someone about this? There is always a reason why we use.
