s this pregnancy, therefore I have been put on macrobid for the remaining of my pregnancy. I have to take 1 every night until I deliver. Started @32 weeks am now 35+5. No problems from it yet. I haven't had any syptoms of uti so I would never known if it weren't for the urine soles at Dr. Office.

3rd UTI Oct positive for ecoli over 100000 was resistant to alot of meds so puton macrobid 7 days. Within 48 hours of stopping macrobid symptoms came back culture showed ecoli again and same macrobid for 7 days. Then symptoms returned and again ecoli put inpt on imipenem for 10 IV doses and dc with macrobid for 7 days. Then culture positive for ecoli again now ESBL. No UA has ever shown WBCs but cultures grow bacteria and frequency, urgency, nocturia and burning present.

I was given macrobid at 20 weeks for a uti my dr said it was safe to take while pregnant. Im now almost 32 weeks and baby is fine. Although i think she said yeast infections were common with it I never got one. These sites online may not be the most reputable so I wouldn't listen much. Plus if you dont take meds you could end up with bladder or kidney infection.

The macrobid is for a uti but I was told when I had to take the bactrium that it is a different type of antibiotic for a bacteriol ( i cant spell sorry) infection, not a uti that you can more commonly get durring preg in your lady parts. So you might want to ask, thats why they told me it had to be the bactrium and not the macrobid that time.

do you know if it is still safe to take my other medication while taking this , im on diclectin for my morrning sickness and now the macrobid , i cant get ahold of a doctor or pharmacist at this time ( past midnight) ?

I am 23 years old. I have relapsing-remitting MS and was given Macrobid for a UTI. After my first day of Macrobid, my entire left side has gone numb and i have lost function in it. I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this?

C procedure to have intercourse and within 2 days I had symptoms of a UTI, so I self-treated (based on past doctor discussions) taking 2 macrobid daily for 3 days. ve had costovertebral angle tenderness since all of this started, which IS NOT a sign or symptom of a UTI, its a s/sx of pyelonephritis. The medicine that the doctor changed me to yesterday, ovet a week after I was initially in the ER is Keflex, commonly used to treat pyelonephritis, not a UTI. I'm livid.

s like 2 patients being looked at in one study and 20 out of 7,500 patients in another for .27 percent (well below 1 percent) of patients on macrobid. So, that doesn't mean it's NOT happening to you but just that you are a rare person. And because it is so uncommon, there's not a lot of data on it. There is another theory as well. Our hormones are touchy.

UTIs are common during pregnancy but can cause serious problems if not treated immediately. I had UTI during my first trimester, was prescribed Macrobid, and it was gone in a couple days. Best wishes!

Urologist said sometimes after a UTI the infection can be gone but inflammation remains and will go away with time and that the inflammation can cause UTI like symptoms. I was then placed on a low dose of Macrobid for 3 months. So now another month after cystoscope and 3 weeks on antibiotic and bladder control medication I have had good and bad days. Some days I feel good and normal then other days I feel like my symptoms are back.

I was on macrobid for a UTI at the time of collection (started on macrobid Saturday, had 4 doses by the time of collection on Monday morning, blood work as fasting so last dose taken before blood collection was over 12 hours previously). I got a uti January 31st I did a 10 day round of macrobid then went back to the doc still had it when I went back Feb 22nd so did another 7 days of macrobid still didn't get rid of it finally March 25th I got a shot of rocephin which cleared it up.

I have just gotten off of meds for a horrible uti. I finished the meds yesterday. They are not to be taken during pregnancy. They are macrobid and metronidazole. Just found out I'm pregnant today and I'm super worried.
