This has never happened to me before and I am upset and scared that since Doryx has a delayed-release formula, it will take days for my system to get rid of the drug! I'm waiting to hear from that dermatologist about this horrible side effect. But in the meantime, I'm warning everyone about Doryx. The hair loss won't happen until after a few days so there's no way to tell if you'll suffer the same consequence... until the inevitable occurs.

My scalp has also been very dry and itchy with dandruff. I never had any of these problems before Doryx and so of course I stopped about a week ago. My hair is at least half of what it was last year. Please help someone if you know anything? How devastating as a woman to have to go through this. If losing hair was listed as a side effect (like it should be), I would not have taken this. Clearly it's no coincidence.

I started taking Doryx 250 mg as prescribed by me derm around oct 16...the first week was fine but then I noticed the 2nd week I was losing double the amount of hair in the shower. These weren't even new hairs, but complete long strands were falling off and i've never experience that before. I nearly had a heart attack! I've currently been off the medication for almost a month now and the im still losing more hair than I used to.

If you lie down the doxy can reflux and irritate the esophagus. This happened to me one time when I took it before bed. I had severe pain from it and could barely function for a week it was so bad. I generally have a cast iron stomache.

I also read that Mono makes it to the small colon before breaking down, which would explain the double coating and decreased stomach issues. If all of this is true then it would harmonize with my experience, as Mono was MUCH more tolerable. the redness around my nose comes and goes, sometimes it will crust up and go away other times when it comes i try to wash my face or anything i do to it just makes it worse, its also spread out through my mustache sometimes and i finally got the courage to ask a derm spec and they said it was an infection around my nose and mouth so she prescribed a topical cream called PROMISEH, and some antibiotics called DORYX. i take them and they do nothing .

I've been prescribed Keflex, Bactrim, and now Doryx. Still won't go away. I don't go out anymore because of this condition. I don't know what I would do if I met a really cool girl. Oh wait, I'd probably just walk right past her and look the other way, even if she tried to talk to me. This condition is so embarrassing. I've taken about 16/30 of the Doryx medication (Qty. is 30) The marks don't seem to be going away.

i only go to the pharmacy and ask for the best medicine and they give me a generic medicine name doxylag. after 3 days the intense itching is lost. i take doryx for 1month now. and now i feel a little itching in the skin of my pubic hair. my question are.. 1) What are the long term side effects of doxycycline? 2) Do the bacteria are wash out? 2) After my 1month cycle of doxycycline im now free in any disease? 3) When can is the best time to notice the "white stuff"?

Hello, I planned on getting STD tested in a few weeks but just completed a ZPACK (azithromycin) for a sinus infection and my dermatologist has put me on 100 mg doryx (doxycycline) for acne. Other then the HIV test should I go ahead and get tested for gono, syph, chla? I'm not sure why, but lately my penis has been having a fishy odor. I am not sexually active, I'm 19 years old, and I clean it regularly. About 2 months ago I also experienced horrible headaches and left eye blur. I had the ct scan, the mri with contrast dye and 2 weeks ago had a pet scan. I have something, but its really unknown what it is. A tumor is what the dr. is calling it. I had pre-op tests takes this afternoon for my surgery scheduled for Sept 9th 2008. I am having a crainotomy but I am very unaware of what will happen before, during and after the surgery. It measures about the size and shape of a half flattened egg.
