does flexeril go bad

Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.

I take flexeril very occasionally....it does make me sleep...like 10-12 hours if i take it so i know i could never take it during the daytime...i have a low resistence to muscle relaxers i think after reading on here...zanaflax really knocks me out...when i do take a flexeril...i take 5 mg if i can 10 only if i feel i am really hurting...it gives me a hang over a little bit in the morning and that is why i rarely take it ..

Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?

It seems like Bacofen is the go-to drug for MS related spasicity. The wanted me to start out on 1/2 does for 7 days and go to the full dose after that. I made it three days on the 1/2 dose and couldn't take it anymore. Since it takes a while to get to therapeutic levels I was kept awake all night with TERRIBLE spasms, worse than usual, I had muscle weakness and I was puking my brains out. They wanted to try another drug, I said for the time being I would rather live in pain.

Looking for members thoughts on these and the difference. I have been on both after a MVA and I have a very bad neck/back injury. Started w/ Flexeril (liked it, but couldn't take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!

Not sure you're right about taking two or more of these can cause it. Two of the drugs affect serotonin, but only trazadone does this primarily. However, any of these drugs by themselves (not including melatonin, which is not a drug and is one of the safest supplements ever studied) could cause all of your side effects and the combination wouldn't be appealing to me.

Flexeril is not addictive if you use it only when needed I took it for years for a bad back but you dont get hi on it so for the most part if taken as directed your ok just stay away from soma that is a different story...................................Gnarly.....................................

Flexeril causes sleepyness, feeling drowsy, cloudyness... It usually is not one to be abused. Generally with spinal injuries, or neurosurgery, if a patient is looking at back surgery Flexeril (muscle relaxers) and Vicodin (pain killers) are the main medications used to help with the pain. If he has chopped the pills up, then he's most likely NOT abusing them. The reason I say this is because he would be taking several pills WHOLE.

I have been taking 3/4 of a 10mg Flexerit once a day before bed Pain Management Dr put me on 4-1/2 yrs ago while detoxing from Valium (horrible). I'm sure God brought me here getting off Valium. People here helped me so much like Cricket, AtThebeach and many others. I couldn't have done it without them and our Heavenly Father. Was on Gabapentin (for me is a horrible drug). He offered that again, maybe won't be as bad now, not withdrawing from Valium.

Hi bbxx, Yes, well I just got back from the doctor and he said Flexeril is known to cause arythmias as a bad side effect so I have to go off cold turkey tonight. Lucy that I am only on 5 mg/day. I figure I'll get insomnia for a few days, don't know what other withdrawal symptoms but hopefully it won't be too bad. Not all PVC's show up on an EKG as like you said they come and go. So at the time you get a EKG you may not be having a PVC.

I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?

Are you sure the flexeril dose is 100mg?That is high..flexeril comes in 10mg tabs and 100 mg is 10 tabs a day?Is this right?

Hey all, Hope everyones holiday weekend was fab:) My pain doc prescribed some Flexeril for me today. I'm excited because it's non-narcotic and I'd rather just keep away from the any narcs. But my little(yeah, right)fear of medication is getting to me. I relaized the muscle relaxants might help because as soon as I started ambien my pain decreased some.

has anyone ever had pvcs/pacs while on the muscle relaxant flexeril? for the last couple of months my constant pvcs have been actually somewhat manageable, or at least tolerable. then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.

atleast its not so slimy- feel bad tho hubby missed another day of work, but i really needed to go to the doctor, there was no two ways about it,. it was either my doc or my hospital.....

there is flexeril but that didnt realy work for me, zanaflex however worked really good.

Hi ladies I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant...and all I CAn say is "ouch"" and a few other selective words..I've Ben having horrible hip and lower back pains its so unbearable it brings tears to my eyes..if I sit to long it worsens if I stand to long same damn thing I can't maneuver like I want and its aggrivating...I don't go back to Dr.

I experienced withdrawals for around 10 days. In my opinion its not important knowing when they will go away but that THEY WILL eventually go away. So hang in there!

Flexeril and soma are both muscle relaxers....doesn't seem as if teking both each day would be of any benefit...flexeril is the safer of the two as far as addiction....there are some warnings posted as far as anti-depressents and some of the aminos...I was on lexapro (anti-depressent) during detox...nuerontin, I also take flexeril rarely but it can help you sleep..I followed the recipe without difficulty...

Hi Tuckamore, FYI, I went to the doctor yesterday and he said Flexeril is known to cause skipping heart beats and other problems like that and I have to go off of it tonight. So, I went off the Flexeril last night and has some trouble sleeping but took an antihistamine and I seem to be doing ok today. So, far my heartbeat is better. I hope that does the trick. I looked up the side effects of Flexeril and <1% get the arhythimias and so I guess I'm in the 1% as usual.

But I am also having this pain around my right shoulder blade, and has been going on for 6 days. On top of that I have really bad sinuses, humidifier doesn't help me. Also my wrist bones on both of my hands hurt a lot. So went to see the doctor yesterday, the place was so busy, had to wait for 2 hours till I talked to the doc. When I finally saw him. He checked for my sinuses and prescribed me 2 medicines.

You can ask your dr about some flexeril. Its a muscle relaxers and it will make your back feel so much better. My pain was so bad i didn't even want to move but with flexeril and my hubby giving me daily massages, i feel better.

the Flexeril or Naproxen, just hides it (from himself) so needless to say, he sleeps alot, is totally unambitious and needs medical help. Long story short, how does he successfully go from one dr. to another and get strictly Tramadol? It works best and makes him not a crazy, angry guy! He needs help! And if I say one thing, he says "stay out of my pills", "it's between me and my doctor" - but he never told Doctor #2 he was on Tramadol! HELP!
