Do zoloft side effects subside

Common Questions and Answers about Do zoloft side effects subside

zoloft

Avatar f tn If you have tried zoloft a few times without success then you should tell your doctor and he can try another medication that may not have the side effects you experience. Many medications have side effects which seem bad in the beginning but subside in time. Sometimes it's better to start on small doses and build up more gradually. Hopefully you are seeing a psychiatrist for medication management as they are the best equipped in dealing with these medications.
1211508 tn?1343079605 s not like getting a headache and taking something that will work right away you will have side effects that can be troublesome let your doctor know about everything i take 100mg.
Avatar f tn I have mild asthma and allergies as well but I also take Zoloft without those side effects. Sure you could be having a reacation but, it could also be your anxiety so worried about side effects.... That is probably why your doc wants to wait to change your meds, to see if the feelings subside.
Avatar m tn 25 mgs of Zoloft is still a relatively small dose. 5 mgs of Lexapro is a small dose. Both are SSRI's. If you are sensitive to one and suffered serotonin syndrome, the other would probably do the same. I do not believe 25 mgs of Zoloft caused you to suffer from serotonin syndrome. Escitalopram is a good med as is Zoloft. You only took the Zoloft for one day so there will be no problem with changing meds. You should, however expect side-effects.
Avatar f tn He said my head symptoms are NOT side effects from the med because once the side effects subside they DO not come back after 8 months. Like Paxiled explained, the med is metabolized. Therefore, I am now thinking that the pressure and rushing inside my head are from the anxiety itself! As nursinggirl suggested, it could be from extra stressors of late.
324184 tn?1308076203 I think that should subside very soon. I have been on Zoloft for almost a month and I had that feeling in the very beginning. Do you take yours at night or in the morning?
Avatar f tn Plan on giving the new dose about 4 weeks (maybe even a bit longer) to be able to see the full effects. Any side effects (including the headache)...should abate after 2 weeks or so. Keep in contact with your doctor on how you're doing...hang in there!
Avatar f tn When I came off of it, my doc put me on a taper as I came off of it. I did notice some side effects like naseau and increased anxiety, however I kept an open line of communication with the doc. I asked if it would be okay to go on a slower taper as I came off of it. He agreed and the slower taper seemed to help with the side effects. I am glad that you are seeing a psychiatrist to help you with your medication prescriptions and questions.
Avatar f tn I had terrible side effects from Zoloft not pregnant. I would be terrified to take while I was pregnant. It has to be very unsafe for baby. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn You need to give the Zoloft a chance to work if however You have been on it for a number of months and are still worried You are best talking with the person who prescribed it to You. Dizziness is a common sign of Anxiety and if you have not been on the medication long enough it has not had a chance to get into your system and work correctly yet.
10361664 tn?1409609407 Ok now im scared! What do I do?..ive been on Zoloft before about 15 years ago and I liked it I was only on 30 mg of Paxil before I started the taper!
Avatar f tn I believe you can continue to take your Ativan as it is in a different class of drugs from your other meds. BUT.................I am NOT a doctor nor a pharmacist and I will tell you right now that you MUST check this out with someome with real knowledge of the interactions of medications. And that is NOT me! Zoloft, an antidepressant, normally reaches steady state in about a week and in my humble opinion, you should not still be feeling "really anxious and nervous.
Avatar n tn Ringing in the ears is one of the side effects from Zoloft. Just because you didn't experience it doesn't mean others won't. LisaB1234, sometimes it gets better after your body gets used to the meds. If it gets really bothersome, talk to the doctor see if he can switch the antidepressant.
Avatar m tn I was put on Lexapro after trying Zoloft. Zoloft worked well for me but gave me some unfavorable side effects. Lexapro has been great. I feel like it takes it a little longer to kick in than the Zoloft did for me but it has helped my anxiety tremendously. I started seeing results within 1-2 weeks.
Avatar f tn Remember, side effects start before effects. Not saying this is impossible, I would never say anything is impossible with drugs that affect the brain, but is it possible you were on another medication before going on the Zoloft that you might be suffering withdrawal from? You were also on an extremely low dose. Not ruling your theory out, but would suggest looking for an alternative theory so you don't miss anything here.
Avatar f tn I have taken zoloft for a long time. I do not recall having this side effect. However if you can tolerate it, then it will most liley to subside. Remember, it takes zoloft about two weeks to begin to work. Keep taking it as prescribed, and if you have any other side effects that are not tolerable, see your doctor.
Avatar f tn Zoloft has a fairly long half-life of 26 hours. A half-life is the amount of time it will take your body to excrete 1/2 of the amount of Zoloft in your body. I really suck at math, so I'll leave that up to you. Bottom line though is that it's not going to take very long. Couple days at most. Hell, you only took a grand total of 75mg. Drink lots of water and understand that your anxiety about "withdrawing" from that tiny amount of Zoloft IS just that......anxiety.
4981427 tn?1371670469 ve been a lot more tired.. Will the side effects most likely subside as my body adjusts?
20632981 tn?1503687567 My question is, does Prozac have low side effects like Zoloft but does it work better? And should I be taking a SSRI or SNRI for depression and anxiety, what works better with less side effects?
Avatar n tn Dee I think today I am having anxiety because my husband is out of town until tomorrow afternoon. I just want it to stop. I looked up Zoloft and it said that if you experience anxiety then you should tell your doctor right away. But, I am not having panic attacks, so I haven't called the Dr. yet. If it is from the Zoloft, will the side effect subside? I think that I panic because I feel "weird sensations". Does that make sense?
Avatar f tn the side effects (shakiness, nervousness, etc) usually start to subside after about a week for most people (sometimes even a bit sooner). Also, remember that you have to take it for at least 3-4 weeks to really allow it to become effective. I think asking your doc for a psych referral is an awesome idea....they will be able to treat you as a whole...meds, therapy, coping, etc. They also will be able to manage your meds....sometimes people require dosage adjustments...
Avatar f tn Has anyone here ever taken Zoloft? If so wat were your side effects? I started Zoloft on Monday. I only took one pill n within a couple of hours I felt horrible! I had nausea n diarrhea. Today is Thursday and I still feel nauseas. Keep in mind it took one pill on Monday n no more after that. Please give me some input.
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome! While no one can answer your question with any kind of certainty, there are many of us with long histories of anxiety who have responded very well woth SSRI type meds. They are really first line medications used in the treatment of anxiety disorders. I, personally have had great success with Zoloft in the past. It was the first medication I ever tried after being diagnosed with panic disorder at age 18, and it along with therapy) literally gave me my life back.
Avatar f tn I do not think it is withdraw from the Rexulti. I think it is just side effects from Zoloft. I have never been on Zoloft however I have a friend who took it and says it works amazing! However, the side effects at first were terrible. It should subside in a couple weeks! Stay stong.
Avatar m tn I have been on zoloft for two weeks and the side effects are still pretty bad, without any benefits (it seems like it has been two years!). (I have tried lexapro, paxil, and celexa, but zoloft was the first AD I have taken and from my first experience seemed to produce the least side effects for me (although this time seems bad). I know it takes awhile for SSRI's to get working and initial side effects are common. I started taking 25mgs for a week and have been on 50mgs for a week.
