Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft side effects appetite

zoloft

Avatar f tn When I came off of it, my doc put me on a taper as I came off of it. I did notice some side effects like naseau and increased anxiety, however I kept an open line of communication with the doc. I asked if it would be okay to go on a slower taper as I came off of it. He agreed and the slower taper seemed to help with the side effects. I am glad that you are seeing a psychiatrist to help you with your medication prescriptions and questions.
Avatar n tn Any of them can have those side effects, any of them might not -- it depends on the person. They are all common side effects, they may go away, they may not. Many of these are not associated with wellbutrin, but if the problem is anxiety wellbutrin is very stimulating and isn't recommended for anxiety.
Avatar f tn Did you guys experience lots of side effects when starting the zoloft?? I have been prescribed it But too nervousto takeit!
Avatar f tn I am very shaky but that was how I felt when I started it so not sure if that could be from the Zoloft or not. The side effects have not been as bad this time (accept for the possible shakes) but I am not so sure it is working like it did last time and may try something else or nothing. Be careful what you hear here, everyone is very different. These meds are intense but can work wonders. The docs say to give it a month, so the two times I have tried it I was commited to that.
Avatar m tn you should switch doctor because yes that could be anxiety too but also can be the med too because your body is not used to it and also some people had very bad side effects to antidepressant What dosage are you taking?
Avatar m tn Did these symptoms start after the dose increase? I know you said the first week was really bad. That is not uncommon when you first start any of these meds. Usually any side effects while gradually get better after a few days to a few weeks. I really do recommend that you give your Dr a call. I'll look up possible side effects of Zoloft to see if breathing problems is on the list.
Avatar f tn Some people have a rougher time adjusting to Zoloft than others, and what you describe is pretty par for the course as far as start up side effects go. The most common side effects are an increase in anxiety and feeling very "jittery", as if you drank WAY too much coffee. Other common side effects include GI disturbances (nausea, lack of appetite, heartburn), sleep disturbances, headaches.
Avatar f tn I have tried many antidepression medication with severe side effects; gastritis and weight gain. I am presently on 20mg Prozac which is ok on my stomach but is ineffective with the depression and of course weight gain. I'm thinking of trying Zoloft. Does it bother your stomach. I've pretty much accepted the weight gain, but can't handle the stomach pain & depression. Ialso take 0.5mgof Ativan daily. Any advise?
Avatar f tn •drowsiness, dizziness, tired feeling; •mild nausea, stomach pain, upset stomach, constipation; •dry mouth; •changes in appetite or weight; •sleep problems (insomnia); or •decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.

I stop and after 2 weeks i felt better for like almost 2 weeks. Now im back to loss of appetite dry mouth and muscle pain.
Avatar n tn m on 10 mg right now and am finally through the side effects (still no appetite though), just waiting for the meds to kick in a little more.
Avatar m tn That makes sense about the Zoloft. We never know what possible side effects we may get from any medication. You could have irritation from excessive urination. How long have you been off the Zoloft? It can take awhile to get completely out of your system.
Avatar f tn I took about 4 days for the Zoloft side-effects to go away, in my case. My only side-effects were EXTREME hyperactivity (which lead to lack of sleep) and a slightly diminished appetite.
Avatar f tn They just put me on zoloft?? Anyone have bad side effects? I never in my life have had anxiety anda I have the worst:( please help??
Avatar f tn ve never heard of any of my acquaintances who take it complain of insomnia either. My side effects were low libido, weight gain, decreased appetite, and apathy, but nothing I couldn't manage. Take care.
Avatar f tn I had terrible side effects from Zoloft not pregnant. I would be terrified to take while I was pregnant. It has to be very unsafe for baby. Hope you feel better.
Avatar m tn I have been on zoloft for two weeks and the side effects are still pretty bad, without any benefits (it seems like it has been two years!). (I have tried lexapro, paxil, and celexa, but zoloft was the first AD I have taken and from my first experience seemed to produce the least side effects for me (although this time seems bad). I know it takes awhile for SSRI's to get working and initial side effects are common. I started taking 25mgs for a week and have been on 50mgs for a week.
Avatar f tn ), sleep disturbances, GI upset, increase or decrease in appetite, headaches. Try not to get overly focused on worrying about side effects...you may have a few mild ones, or none at all. Try to be as patient as you can while waiting for the Lexapro to work. Also, if you haven't already, seek out some therapy. Meds are great for reducing symptoms, but therapy is invaluable for learning coping techniques and getting support. Good luck, hope the Lexapro works for you...
10361664 tn?1409609407 thats why my anxiety got bad...so he wants to up the paxil and take me off the zoloft cause of the side effects. I cant even work im sleeping til 2 in the afternoon and stomach is so upset! Thank you for your input I really appreciate it!
Avatar f tn I believe you can continue to take your Ativan as it is in a different class of drugs from your other meds. BUT.................I am NOT a doctor nor a pharmacist and I will tell you right now that you MUST check this out with someome with real knowledge of the interactions of medications. And that is NOT me! Zoloft, an antidepressant, normally reaches steady state in about a week and in my humble opinion, you should not still be feeling "really anxious and nervous.
Avatar n tn Yes wellbutrin is stimulating and zoloft has insomnia as a potential side effect as well. Do discuss with your doctor. Trazodone is helpful with insomnia but adding it to your current mix may not be the best approach. Let your doctor decide what's best.
Avatar f tn Has anyone here ever taken Zoloft? If so wat were your side effects? I started Zoloft on Monday. I only took one pill n within a couple of hours I felt horrible! I had nausea n diarrhea. Today is Thursday and I still feel nauseas. Keep in mind it took one pill on Monday n no more after that. Please give me some input.
1330182 tn?1279815900 Hello! I was on Zoloft for approx 5 years..It did wonders in the beginning for my anxiety but as my dosage was increased to 50mg, I noticed weight gain and break thru anxiety.. I switched to prozac which over time made my anxiety worse.. I went off prozac in March 2010 and my anxiety came back hard! I lost a lot of weight and couldn't eat :( I started Celexa 3 weeks ago @2.5mg. I know that is a low dose, but I am very med sensitive..
Avatar f tn Zoloft has a fairly long half-life of 26 hours. A half-life is the amount of time it will take your body to excrete 1/2 of the amount of Zoloft in your body. I really suck at math, so I'll leave that up to you. Bottom line though is that it's not going to take very long. Couple days at most. Hell, you only took a grand total of 75mg. Drink lots of water and understand that your anxiety about "withdrawing" from that tiny amount of Zoloft IS just that......anxiety.
