There is also Elavil a low dose tricyclic antidepressant that takes away pain if you have alot of pain and drugs like ditropan xl which relax the bladder and cut down on frequency/urgency/some discomfort and pain. I think a combination of these drugs usually gives people quite a bit of relief and also following the IC diet which you'll find at that website too. I don't think I have IC but probably overactive bladder and the ditropan xl has helped alot!
The doctor looked the drugs up in a book and said there was little difference in the price, and asked if I would like to go on Effexor XL. I said yes, and also asked for dosage to be increased, so now I am on the original drug again. I do not know if there is any difference, I am told not, and have googled it, but as I know Effexor suited me I am glad to be on it, if only to put my mind at rest.
I don't know about XR and XL though. I have always had XL.
My urologist prescribed Ditropan, which I took for about a year, which helped at first. Flomax was added the following year, which again worked for awhile, but the symptoms returned after 6 months or so. The Flomax caused retrograde ejaculation, which bothered me because in the past, I had always shot a fairly substantial load when I ***.
I have had total bladdure failure and have taken Detrol and Ditropan with no good result. I am seeing the ururologist tomorrow and am worried that he will chalk this up to MS and tell me to live with it. Have any of you experienced this? Are there other remedies out there for this? I dont want to live with this, making me very upset. I appreciate it and thanks.

You can ask your doctor to prescribe some antispasmodics, such as Ditropan, for relieving the bladder spasms. If the spasms are under control even the frequency will decrease to a considerable extent.
Additionally, you can also request prescription for some low-dose sedatives, maybe from the benzodiazepine group, to get you through the first week or so. Do not continue the sedatives longer than 10-12 days as they have the potential to cause dependence.
Tried on a few pants yesterday that said they were a xl but they fit like a medium or large...
I had a sinus infection but did not show any of the usual signs at the time. I was placed on Toprol XL 50mg. I began experiencing very cold feet and hands, had panic attacks and feelings of suicide. I have been very depressed since I started using. I had started walking and had gotten up to 2miles a day. But the exercise left me feeling very tired. I finally convinced my doctor to lower it to 12.5 mg. gradually. Now I want to get off of it completely.
She does take Detrophen XL frequently. I am not sure if it has any effect or she is just not satisfied with me. Any real advice, please? Thanks in advance!
The Hyperhydrosis can be treated with Ditropan or its generic. A colleague took this on an as needed basis during stressful instances and he said it worked well. However, I don't think its related to the three other challenges you face: dandruff, eczema, and tinnitus. Each of these show signs of some underlying allergies.
There are skin allergy tests, blood (RAST) tests, and elimination tests.
I'm as plus size woman (18 before pregnancy, xl or 1x shirts) I'm so irritated with maternity clothes!! I was looking for dinner sheets at Motherhood Maternity and all they have are short, shorts. I am not afraid to admit that i should not wear shorts above the knee, esp short thigh ones. Not only that, i CAN NOT find any swim shorts that are not hoochie looking.you either get the skirt or shorter shorts. Who are there models, seriously!!!!
had a letter earlier in the year saying the drug is being changed from capsule to tablet but is exactly the same. i am taking viepax xl. before i was on effexor modified release. weather its a coinsidence or not but i feel as though i am going down hill and recently hit the bottom of the pit partly i think its due to life circumstances. but I am not convinced plus my doc says your on max dosage when clearly i have been on higher before.
HI, Your problem sounds like overactive bladder. This is a bladder problem that is driven by urgency. The constant urge to void causes you to urinate frequently, usually causes you to get up at night to void, and about a third of patients have urge incontinence. It's not uncommon to see patients complain of this problem happening life long. The other problem that can cause your symptoms is Interstitial Cystitis (IC).
I contacted my cardiologist because I had a couple episodes where it felt like my heart was fluttering. I have been on Toprol XL for a little over a year (25mg) due to having a afib attack last memorial day and having to be converted. I have been fine until lately when last Monday my BP shot up to 170/90. She had me do a holter study for 2 days to see what was happening. She told me that my heart rate was running too high and that I had a 30 second episode of atrial flutter.
Thank you for your cautionary tale. I also spent a period on fairly high dose Venlafaxine XL (225mg) about ten years ago. I vividly remember the awful side-effects that would develop within a few hours of missing a dose and would evaporate rapidly when I took the medication.
On Aug. 16, 08 I took my 3yr old daughter in because she said her pee hurts. After doing a urinalysis it showed that she had an elevated wbc so they put her on amoxicillen she remained on that for 10 days. On the 7th day of the amox. she went back to have a repeat urinalysis when those test results came back it showed that the amox. wasn't working. So the Dr. prescribed Septra on Aug.25th She remained on that for 10 days. On the fourth day off the Septra the "bad pee" was back.
My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
I have been on this combination for 6+ years and doing pretty well with them. In May 2008 I was started on Toprol XL 25 mg. It worked for my blood pressure and lowered it but it also made my depression worse and I finally went to my doctor to get off of them. I am now weaning off of the Toprol XL. I am on the second day of 12.5mg and I can't tell you how bad I have felt all day. Extreme anxiety and jittery. I CANNOT wait for this drug to be out of my system.
I just discovered this after 3 months of total misery, 7 different doctors, multiple tests, 1 hospitalization, 16 pound weight loss, almost lost my job, etc., etc., etc.. I want to know if this will have permanent effects on my body and heart and will I ever be the same again. I still don't feel 100% and have been back on the brand TOPROL XL for 9 days now.
