ditropan

Avatar f tn I have started Ditropan XL 5mg HS without any change in the droplets. Any ideas as to what I should or could try next? My urologist thinks my sxs are overactive bladder. How can this be resolved?
3193162 tn?1346761970 If the nerves or brain receptors fail to work precisely, it may ask the brain to sweat due to wrong stimuli leading to hyperhidrosis. Certain spinal cord problems like syringomyelia can cause hyperhidrosis. Lesions and tumors in the spinal cord may also trigger it. Hypothalamus controls body’s thermostat particularly infections can lead to wrong signaling by brain to body to perspire more. Emotional factors, anxiety and stress are other causes.
Avatar f tn There is also Elavil a low dose tricyclic antidepressant that takes away pain if you have alot of pain and drugs like ditropan xl which relax the bladder and cut down on frequency/urgency/some discomfort and pain. I think a combination of these drugs usually gives people quite a bit of relief and also following the IC diet which you'll find at that website too. I don't think I have IC but probably overactive bladder and the ditropan xl has helped alot!
Avatar n tn I just can't do this anymore. I am 17 years old with OCD and severe hyperhidrosis on my hands and feet. I have tried everything: botox, drysol, robinol, ditropan for the HH and god knows how many things I've tried with the OCD. I've had both of these conditions since 10 years old; I've never done anything social. Never had fun or friends. I have no one that wants to understand and the only advice i get is to "get out more", Like it's that simple.
Avatar m tn My urologist prescribed Ditropan, which I took for about a year, which helped at first. Flomax was added the following year, which again worked for awhile, but the symptoms returned after 6 months or so. The Flomax caused retrograde ejaculation, which bothered me because in the past, I had always shot a fairly substantial load when I ***.
1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar f tn I have had total bladdure failure and have taken Detrol and Ditropan with no good result. I am seeing the ururologist tomorrow and am worried that he will chalk this up to MS and tell me to live with it. Have any of you experienced this? Are there other remedies out there for this? I dont want to live with this, making me very upset. I appreciate it and thanks.
Avatar n tn Hi, You can ask your doctor to prescribe some antispasmodics, such as Ditropan, for relieving the bladder spasms. If the spasms are under control even the frequency will decrease to a considerable extent. Additionally, you can also request prescription for some low-dose sedatives, maybe from the benzodiazepine group, to get you through the first week or so. Do not continue the sedatives longer than 10-12 days as they have the potential to cause dependence.
578589 tn?1217724049 Many times I started to think it was a condition of Hyperhidrosis, but there has also been other reasons explaining why my hands excessively sweat. The other reason why I might have sweaty hands, not Hyperhidrosis, could be due to my personality. Sometimes I get a little nervous when I have to meet new people or just in a unsafe situation. In other words, during a tense situation in my mind. Is it normal to excessively sweat in the hands like that? Could this be a psychological problem?
Avatar f tn I'm looking for an answer to my dilemma. I have an AV fistula or AVM in femoral artery/vein. Probably congenital. 2 weeks ago I had 3 stents placed, but unfortunately that didn't provide lasting results. I did get 3 days relief from severe pelvic pain (due to vasculature congestion?) and the hyperhidrosis stopped as well. The pain and hyperhidrosis have returned and I'm awaiting another surgery.
Avatar m tn Is there anything more I can do to treat my hyperhidrosis more thoroughly? Do you know if botox injections for hyperhidrosis are limited to forheads/hands/feet/armpits? Or could I receive them in other places such as my nose or back? Are there any more comprehensive solutions (ie. surgery) for hyperhidrosis? I'm willing to do almost anythign at this point - it really is paralyzing my life.

Avatar f tn 65f inside and I felt light sweat for no discernible reason. I read the description of Hyperhidrosis but it seems the sweat described in that far exceeds the sweat I am experiencing. Is this normal? Could if be diet related? How?
Avatar f tn Ok, just wanted to provide an update on my daughter's condition. We went to the dermatologist and she was diagnosed with Hyperhidrosis and Bromhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by abnormally increased perspiration. The abnormal increase of perspiration opened the door for bromhidrosis. Bromhidrosis is an abnormal condition in which the apocrine sweat has an unpleasant odor caused by bacterial decomposition of perspiration on the skin.
Avatar n tn She does take Detrophen XL frequently. I am not sure if it has any effect or she is just not satisfied with me. Any real advice, please? Thanks in advance!
Avatar n tn No sir, this is physiological. Most hyperhydrosis patients have palmo plantar sweating, apart from axillary areas.
149184 tn?1235618905 I was watching discovery health channel tonight and the topic was hyperhidrosis & hyohidrosis. i didnt know there's a medical diagnosis for it. i have noticed that i dont sweat a lot like normal people do, but i thought its nothing serious. now im concerned, and scared. can anyone tell me more about the condition? i know its something to do with the hypothalamus but i couldnt find good information online. seem like most people experience hyperhidrosis instead of hypohidrosis.
Avatar m tn My Merck manual says "hyperhidrosis warrants medical attention because it can be a sign of an overactive thyroid, a low blood sugar level, or an abnormality in the part of the nervous system that controls sweating.
Avatar n tn could this be some kind of fluid buildup due to the swelling because of my injury i caused myself? I thought Hyperhidrosis might be a cause, however no one in my family has this disease. And I've never had this problem until this injury. Help?
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition in which a person sweats excessively even when the temperature is cool or when they are at rest. This may be attributed to overactive sweat glands. If the sweating occurs as a result of another medical condition, it is called secondary hyperhidrosis.
