I planned on telling my boss at 12 weeks (now 16 wks 3 days). Then one day she was talking to me and my coworker about how she thinks people under 23 (I'm 21) shouldn't have kids bc we do it for selfish reasons or we are just stupid and don't use protection. After hearing that I double thought about telling her but I know my job needs to know....what should I say or do?

Hi all, still smiling about my positive test and looking forward to my scan next thurs but I'm having an issue with my boss. I work with x ray and asked through occ health if I could not go into the lab for a while( hopefully9 months) said I wasnt ready to talk about my private life as I am way to early and don't want that pity face people give you if things go wrong!!! Please god they won't! He has GIVEN me 4 weeks before he asks again......
I recently Relapsed on Herion& Anyways it has been a couple of weeks& I have No red mark where I shot up at but I have some Swelling & it feels really weird& it hurts to straighten out my arm& pain is even starting to hurt up to my shoulder& on the outside does not look like a normal abcess& believe me I have had many& it's really starting to scare me if I had not shot up there then I would think that maybe this was a cyst growing like on nerve& im so Scar
My parents would have us take maybe a hydrocodone during a cold for coughs since it does suppress the respiratory system or a sports injury. So it really was like Dime tap or Benedryl in my house growing up. When I hit high school I realized I got a high on it. So of course my brother and I would ask our parents for pills here and there maybe a weekend or two a month and it was always given to us. We liked it too much. It started more and more.
I told my boss last week and all she said was "oh no" ya needless to say made me cry and regret telling her.
So I scheduled a time to meet with my boss next week to tell her I am pregnant. I realized after that the day I am telling her, is on her birthday. Should I cancel the meeting to tell her? Or does it not matter that its her birthday?
I mean he deliberately stepped back and launched the three ******* pennies AT me like he was pitching a baseball to a batter or something. The change bounced off the glass wall that is between us and the customers and one penny landed hard enough in the tray/opening at the counter where we pass money through. I lit up into him like Ive NEVER done before just straight cussing him out, etc.
When did everyone decide to tell their boss/employer they were pregnant? im still early n havent even told my family so im definitely going to wait a few more weeks but with me constantly going to the bathroom and pretty much not looking my best in the mornings i feel like it might be obvious...
I just went from temporary to full time at my job and I have to tell my boss I'm pregnant. I'm 4 weeks along and since I'm on probation, I don't accrue time off yet. How do I approach my, not exactly everyone's favorite person, boss about my pregnancy?
I agree with others here.
Many of us have made the same mistake of telling inappropriate people of our medical condition. Every company of any size has people that have conditions and medical treatment needs of one form or another. Does your boss tell you about their family's medical conditions? I doubt it. It is personal and you have a legal right to keep your medical status private.
Don't quit!!! Let them make the move. Let them hang themselves.
Thanks everyone for advice from both sides. I decided to just wait it out and trust that everything will work out. My doctor also assured me that he'll likely have time to make it. I guess I just need a solid backup plan for how to get to the hospital in case he's still out of state when my labor starts. Thanks again!
I kicked off my career in July 2013 after 8months of job searching after graduating from college. I've been at my job for 6months now and I'm 8wks pregnant. I know normally people would wait until they are out of their first trimester to inform there boss but my situation is a little unique. My department director is making some departmental changes and I'm getting a new boss on the 18th of February.
WE RAN INTO A PERSON HE HAD AN EMOTIONAL AFFAIR ON ME WITH THIS PAST SATURDAY ( THE EMOTIONAL AFFAIR WAS 2 YEARS AGO) AND TODAY I FIND MYSELF CRYING AT THE DROP OF A DIME. I CAN BE WRITING AN EMAIL TO MY SISTER ABOUT IT AND JUST START BALLING; MY BOSS ASKED WHATS WRONG - I COULD NOT TALK. THEN I CAN SUCK IT UP AND STOP CRYING RIGHT AWAY, BUT ITS LIKE THE TEARS ARE ALWAYS THERE READY TO FLOW.
I also told my boss right away when I was working. I was on my feet all day too,you really do just have to tough it out. She wouldn't let me lift anything or do anything that could put a strain on baby but I still worked just as hard.
I wouldn't Tell my boss until I started showing a lot.. Especially if the job isn't physical.. I would sit down and tell them how far along I was and In a private setting because it's no one else's business..
