Avatar m tn My voice is hoarse, and in the hollow of my throat, right between my collar bones, there is a burning sensation. My voice cracks occasionally, and I noticed a loss of one octave spanning across the past five months, and it gets tired really easily. I have put myself on vocal rest, and have been keeping the talking to a minimum. I also noticed that when I sing, my larynx goes up really high. What could this be? Will it go away? I know I strained my voice, but does it sound serious?
20050727 tn?1489133390 d get along just great with everyone if I could simply TALK TO THEM! My voice even goes up an entire octave in that class, and my throat is always conveniently parched during it as well. So when my crush walks up to me to ask me something (oh yeah i forgot to mention that my crush is also in my band class), and I attempt to answer, my vocal cords just spit out a mousy, scratchy noise that makes me die a little more every, single, time that I hear it.
Avatar m tn m not sure if i sing well or not....but i do. when i quit smoking 3 years ago, an entire octave and a half of my voice went missing for about 2 months. i've never found any info that can explain why that happened. it came back on its own eventually.....but i thought it was gone for good. weird things happen when you quit. just stick it out! your body WILL thank you for it.
Avatar f tn Hi! I have three nodules (i've named them) and they've leveled off growing I believe. I've had them for...about 5 years. I just had a biopsy done too, and it does hurt, but they're not cancerous, yay! Now, I've had hypothyroidism since I was 8, and I'm almost 22. When they test your hormones, they may put you on synthroid, which does help with the fatigue and necessary but oh so inconvenient afternoon naps. I've recently begun taking cytomel, which is T3.
1216899 tn?1288570325 Ok, pretend my voice is another octave lower and I'll give this one a shot until some other guys come along.... This really is not a neuro problem, even if it is neurological in nature. This is a problem that will get you a referral to a urologist, so you might want to go ahead and give a call. At least I didn't suggest a urogynecologist! LOL The description you give here sounds like a type of spasm - yep, those muscles aren't excluded from the fun with this MiSerable disease.
Avatar n tn t particularly, I have congenital scoliosis and octave spinabifida and worry about other possible complications plus this will not fix the leak or the bad heads. Anyone have any advice ? should this not be fixed ?
Avatar f tn In the 1980s I slowly grew a thyroid cyst which was not detected for quite a time, until I started seeing a bulge on the left side of my neck accompanied by a feeling of pressure in my esophagus and a significant loss of a whole octave of my upper soprano singing range. The presence of a tumor was confirmed by ultrasound and surgery was scheduled in 1986.
1153642 tn?1266253989 t hurt at all, and when I first start talking, my voice can sound normal. By the end of the first sentence or so I start going down by the octave and sounds raspy. It is better than it was, and it may be getting better very slowly. It's better than thyroid cancer though, which was my alternative!
Avatar f tn I could ABSOLUTELY not make the decision to put him down when i stepped away for a momement and heard his 8 octave range calling for me- i knew it was him and i knew not today. I have been on sites reading a lot of clinical info when i stumbled on this site and found that i was not the only member of this unwanted club called grief. To each of you my heart yearns knowing your journeys and now my own. I have decided to accept whatever emotions that surfaces because i can not hide my pain.
Avatar f tn The hoarseness in my speaking voice went away fairly rapidly once I was on T3 as well as T4, but where I once had perfect pitch and was told I had a lovely singing voice, now I have a rasp at the high and low ends, lack of octave range, and my pitch is off. I thought once I got my FREE levels up where they needed to be, this would go away but sadly it has not. I feel like I'm missing a limb, as singing is something I've done since I was old enough to speak. I miss it.
867582 tn?1311627397 When driving back to Portland from the beach I noticed my voice was about an octave lower than usual - I almost sounded like a man it was so low. That voice-lowering usually only happens for me after a great massage when I am super-relaxed. So that's what my trip did for me: Major relaxation with reduction in symptoms, a fascinating learning experience interfacing with the sea life we found at that beach - puffins and starfish!!!!
Avatar m tn As project Manger, it is quite embarrassing , i am in a meeting talking at an octave and the my voice changes all of a sudden and i have to clear my throat to get it back to normal ..
