268911 tn?1213744781 Guitar hero update. I beat "Same old song and dance" now I'm on "Welcome to the jungle" I LOVE THAT SONG! By the way...I'm on the "difficult" level....next is expert.
518031 tn?1295575374 I'm not a lead guitar fan and can't stand guitar solos or jam sessions...I love the bass and rhythm guitar the best....so my vote is for Paul McCartney for bass.....
Avatar n tn I'm not sure pinched nerves are caused by guitar playing. I've also been playing guitar for about that long, but I have no pinched nerves from it. I am, however, wracked with pain from other things, and if you do have pinched nerves it's likely the posture we assume when we play the guitar, with too much neck bending.
Avatar f tn ve had the worse anxiety ever this past week and have posted on this forum a few times. (wanted to jump out a window yesterday) Played Guitar Hero for about an hour in the morning and I must say it helped the symptoms some...couldn't focus on the chest pain as much while trying to beat my husband at this stupid game! I AM going to make an appt with my dr. for sometime this week hopefully to discuss this severe increase in anxiety.
738075 tn?1330575844 I played between sets last Saturday night after practicing my 3 songs during the day a couple of times.Well, I played like s#!t! My fingers just weren't keeping up with my brain, and I was making just one R hand mistake after another. Spastic, fatigued, numbed. I learned when I was a little kid to keep the tempo the same, even through mistakes, and many people won't even notice. But _I_ noticed! I hate this feeling of loosing my guitar ability.
Avatar f tn This evening a relative used my guitar right before me. My guitar strings press extremely hard into the skin and I think I may have some tiny cuts on my fingers(still hurt hours later) and I suspect that my relative may have done the same. If he has HIV wouldn't this warrant Post exposure prophylaxis?
Avatar m tn I'm a musician. I play guitar and cello. Now, I've played guitar long enough where I over time developed calluses on my finger tips. However, now for cello I need a callus on the side of my thumb for a certain technique but I don't have time to develop it for weeks or months. If I regularly cut away at my thumb with a razor or something will a callus still build by means of artificial friction ?
Avatar m tn i went to her studio and we decided to jam together a little bit, i played her guitar during the entire time. (an electric guitar / metal strings) and later day performed with the same guitar at a gig. today i was told that the girl is a drug addict for a long time and is hiv+ what i'm afraid of is that the tips of my fingers have wounds from heavy playing. bleeding little bit from time to time, the skin is broken in all 4 fingers.
Avatar m tn My main hobby is piano and guitar, so the lack of coordination and overall slowness in my right hand is pretty demotivating. It's worse with guitar, which is why the first movement in the video is mimicking a vibrato motion with wrist. Anyone know what this is and what I can do about it? Any help appreciated.
Avatar n tn After playing guitar flash (a similar game to guitar hero), 3 minutes of gameplay I look at the walls and everything I saw showers of particles ( or noise) falling, is this normal? The effect last 5 minutes. I was totally panicked I thought I was having retinal detachment. Now everytime I play this game I see these things.
Avatar m tn I expected it to go away after a few minutes, but lingered for almost a day. I did not think much of it, but I have began to pick up the guitar this summer, and a certain chord calls for me to put a little more pressure into the back of the neck of the guitar with this same thumb. I noticed maybe a half an hour of practice that this same super sensitivity returned and again has continued to linger.
Avatar f tn I was at a concert last month that was very loud. It took a while for my hearing to recover completely but now that it has I noticed this screeching type overtone I hear when ever I play high notes on my guitar. It's on my acoustic and electric and its super loud. I was hoping it was just me overthinking this but I'm positive that it has to do with the concert. I just hope that there's a way to fix it. It's not tinnitus because it's not a ringing and it's not constant.
15711361 tn?1442435208 I am a guitar player and the last month month or two when playing my guitars, especially those with highly resonate bodies, I start sweating, coughing sometimes and experiencing heart palpitations. I've had thyroid issues for years but blood test shows levels are normal. I've also had a sporadic palpitation episodes for years but never anything like this. My regular doctor said the erratic heartbeats are pac's - he just doesn't know why they are happening.
268911 tn?1213744781 Does anyone realize how frustrating it is to play guitar hero without drugs in your system? My son and I play each night after his homework is done and I really SUCK at it now. I realize this is way off base for this forum but I am now stuck on Aerosmiths song "Same old song and dance" and cant even get 50% of the song finished. When I was stoned I could cruise right through those songs just like Keith Richards.
959691 tn?1259410214 My nerves seem to be going crazy too. My right middle finger twitches sometimes then it takes several days off from twitching. Then my left arm (on the in side near my eldow) begain to twitch also. sometimes I think it's from playing the basss guitar because a play so hard I get blood blisters on my right index and my twicthing finger quite often. I get restless and some anxiety at night.
455167 tn?1259257871 hi all. i was just given a probable diagnosis of dupuytrens contracture, as a guitar player i am incredibly concerned now that i have researched it some. i went to unc orthopaedics in chapel hill to address a node on my left index finger (see photo) today, and they tried to aspirate it with a syringe with no success. then they shot cortisone into it. now it hurts so bad that i can't play the guitar at all now.
Avatar f tn I am pretty worried about losing mobility in this finger due to the fact that I am a guitar/bass player and it plays a pretty necessary role in that. Do I need to try and make another appoinment with a doctor? Could this be tendon or ligament damage? Or am I just freaking out because I haven’t played music in over a week? I refuse to believe the medical info I’ve read that says a dislocated finger may never regain full mobility. I need it! Thanks for your advice.

683664 tn?1330966324 Yep that was Diana Ross in 1980 with the band members from the band Chic ("Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)" (1977), "Everybody Dance" (1977), "Le Freak" (1978), "I Want Your Love" (1978), "Good Times" (1979)) writing, playing and producing that great dance hit. Nile Rogers the guitarist of Chic also produced "Like a Virgin" for Madonna.

My hubby plays guitar and sings at small venues, my 4 y.o. loves her guitar, my 15 y.o. plays drums, I play violin and sing, and my soon to be 19 y.o. plays guitar too. After typing that out, "By George", I'm gonna break out my violin! Havens touched it in nearly 2 yrs!!!
