Avatar f tn ” With “never drainage/congestion/fever” and “never gets congestion, sneezing, post-nasal drip, etc” and a borderline normal CT scan, the evidence for chronic sinusitis is scant. The American Academy of Otolaryngology (ENT) classifies sinus symptoms as follows: Major: Facial pressure, congestion, nasal obstruction, a runny nose and a reduced sense of smell. And, Minor: Headache, fever, halitosis, fatigue, dental pain, cough and ear pain.
1070570 tn?1283436213 Hello! I am a 23 yr old female with hypothyroidism, CFS, chronic EBV, and chronic sinusitis. I've been feeling really badly for the past 3 months and my doctor has just decided to treat me for possible yeast overgrowth based on the recurring sinusitis, vaginal infections, white tongue, etc that I have.
Avatar m tn Because I just tried it, and it burns so bad! I have chronic sinusitis for two years with a lot of polyps. No medication helps, except corticosteroids but infection gets back immediately after stopping using them.
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with Chronic Sinusitis and I had a few questions that I didn't think about until I left the dr office. 1. Is it really "chronic", like a chronic disease? 2. Does it go away or is it constant? 3. Is it seasonal? I'm going on my 3rd round of antibiotics and 2nd round of steroids. What happens next if these meds don't work?
Avatar m tn never been on pumps/inhalers never used inhaled corticosteroids but have used antibiotics almost consistently every time i have a chest infection doctors prescribed antibiotics this time as well as well as a corticosteroid nasal spray which i used for the first time but only once and discontinued as it improved my symptoms with a single dose also fexofenadine and montelukast, unicontin e (a methyl xanthine drug bronchodilator) after the pollen season peaked symptoms usually subside and i am vir
Avatar f tn I have been struggling with chronic sinusitis for years. I think this infection is bacterial, as I've had it for months. I'm starting to get vertigo occasionally, when I get up in the morning. I'll be going to my doctor in the next few weeks (for a routine checkup) and thought I'd get her input. She has prescribed antibiotics in the past. The problem is that every type I take causes me severe gastic problems (stomach ache, esophageal spasms, etc.
Avatar n tn hello I was just diagnosed with chronic sinusitis thru a CT scan. The only symptom that is driving me crazy is constant thick white mucus in my throat or chest ? it is impairing my breathing and making me wheeze. I have been to the pulmonologist and had lung function test and those numbers were good . I look up sinusitis symptoms, but rarely do I find anyone who has issue with mucus and breathing unless its thru their nose . The Dr thinks I may have chronic sinusitis from a deviated septum ..
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with epididymitis quite a while ago, and prescribed antibiotics for it. Even after finishing this treatment, the symptoms always come back after a few days of not ejaculating. This seems to be the opposite of what I see in other posts on the internet, where people say that ejaculating makes their symptoms worse - in fact, it's the only thing that helps me. My main symptoms are pain and swelling of the epididymis.
Avatar f tn Hello, What you are having can be due to sinus congestion especially chronic sinusitis. It can be due to allergic nasal polyps or tumors, allergic reactions, deviated nasal septum, trauma to the face, respiratory tract infections, allergies such as hay fever, immune system cells or cystic fibrosis. It is important to find out the cause of chronic sinusitis as then specific treatment can be started. Treatment varies from saline and steroid nasal sprays to decongestants and antibiotics.
Avatar m tn I have suffered from chronic sinusitis for years. My ENT said I have under developed sinuses that are about the width of a pencil. I suffered a really bad sinus infection back in 2007, I couldn't breathe or swallow right. My sinuses felt like cement. I didn't want to take any of the steroid nasal sprays because they can dry your nose & I take bad nose bleeds. I went to a health food store nearby & the person who owned it said she too had chronic sinusitis.
Avatar f tn Pls check out with an ENT specialist if you are having chronic rhinitis or sinusitis. If you have chronic sinusitis then it can lead to continuous production of mucus and less drainage leading to post nasal drip.Transillumination test and X-Ray or CT sinuses can help in diagnosing it. If allergic rhinitis is the cause of PND then it can be diagnosed by skin ***** tests or blood tests like RAST. Take plenty of fluids throughout the day and inhale steam as many times as possible. .
Avatar n tn Hi, This type of sinusitis is also known as chronic hyperplastic eaosinophilic sinusitis with nasal polyposis (CHES/NP) as it is usually associated with small polyps/swellings in the nose. It is the prominent accumulation of eosinophils that is the diagnostic feature of this condition.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the info. Do you recognize the antibiotic prescribed for me (FACTIVE gemifloxacin-mesylate 320mg)? Which antibiotic do you recommend? From some reading about Sinusitis it appears that 5 days is not enough time to cure the disease with antibiotics. I am also inhaling a saline solution to relieve the mucus buildup.
Avatar n tn Aside from chronic headaches, you can also have sinusitis especially if you have been having runny nose a lot and you have pain if you bend over. You are right in saying that you do not have the same symptoms as brain tumor. Try to relax and drink plenty of fluids. You may benefit from seeing your ENT doctor as well. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Or sinusitis? Often sinusitis can be helped with using a humidifier. We usually carry some bacteria in the nose and it is okay. What type of bacteria is the problem? what are your symptoms? Is it headache and sinus pressure?
Avatar n tn I was wondering where the best place for me would be to find a complete list of medicines I should stay away from with Long QT syndrome. I have a list but it is over 5 years old, and I am in need of a new one! Thank You!
Avatar m tn Eventually I went to a homeopath who suggested that my immune system was down because of chronic low zinc levels. She treated me for both the chronic sinus problem as well as the low immune system with excellent results. It appears that it is quite common for people to have low immune systems and consequently have difficulties fighting disease. Give a homeopath a try. Taffyn.
