Avatar f tn ” With “never drainage/congestion/fever” and “never gets congestion, sneezing, post-nasal drip, etc” and a borderline normal CT scan, the evidence for chronic sinusitis is scant. The American Academy of Otolaryngology (ENT) classifies sinus symptoms as follows: Major: Facial pressure, congestion, nasal obstruction, a runny nose and a reduced sense of smell. And, Minor: Headache, fever, halitosis, fatigue, dental pain, cough and ear pain.

Avatar f tn was found during my annual) and my dr (who is new and i do not normally see) prescribed me diflucan for 12 weeks, one pill, once a week. I have never heard of this or treated a yeast infection with diflucan like this before and am starting to think this doctor I saw was a quack/slave to drug company kind of doctor. Has anyone ever been prescribed diflucan this way?
Avatar n tn I was wondering where the best place for me would be to find a complete list of medicines I should stay away from with Long QT syndrome. I have a list but it is over 5 years old, and I am in need of a new one! Thank You!
Avatar n tn I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem. I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days. This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again. Questions: Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs? Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated. I should note that I take enzymes with each meal (Digest Gold and Fenol) Thanks for any help, Sam.
Avatar m tn What is the usual dosage for treatment of toenail fungus with Diflucan? My doctor prescribed it to me and it just seems to be different than normal. He said to take 100 mg/daily for the first 10 days of each month until it's gone. Is that a normal regimen?
Avatar f tn You really should be using a steroid nasal spray for you excessive mucous production for your sinuses. Antibiotics help acute sinusitis infections. I often do saline irrigations of my sinuses, that helps remove the excess mucous that is in the sinuses. Also gets rid of infected material. These irrigations should be done twice a day. I've also noticed that when you have excess lung mucous you will feel it rattling around deep in your lungs before it makes it's way up.
Avatar m tn Because I just tried it, and it burns so bad! I have chronic sinusitis for two years with a lot of polyps. No medication helps, except corticosteroids but infection gets back immediately after stopping using them.
475187 tn?1208154768 ve search on the internet and i found out about the Diflucan, that according to them will get rid of the yeast infection for just one dose, so we bought it and me and my husband took it, but it's been 3 days now and i still have the white discharge, does anybody tried Diflucan before? and how long it will take effect? or does it mean that it will not work on me? i don't want to try creams because it's messy.
Avatar m tn I've had a persistent yeast infection almost every month for nearly 3 years. I've had it tested over 5 times so I know it's candida with certainty. Diflucan sometimes helps for a short while, most of the time not at all. I'm trying it once more and thought maybe trying the miconazole suppositories a few days after the Diflucan may help. What's your opinion on this idea? Does anyone have any advice on recurrent yeast infections?
Avatar f tn All three times I, as well as my female partner have tested negative for all STDs. The urologist said to try diflucan first to see if it is a yeast infection, then  if the symptoms persisted, take medication for possible trichomoniasis infection. If that didn't work then he would have to do a visual inspection with a camera scope. I took a test for trichomoniasis (urine NAA test) and that came back negative as well.

Avatar m tn i have this some sort of colds for about 2 months now and now sometimes i feel weak and fatigue, i have this cold mucus that doesnt come out and i feel sometimes stumbling or out of balance, and some dizziness and nausea.. is this sinusitis infection or ear infection.i have no fever...
Avatar f tn I have had sinusitis for one month (out of work) and have been on antibiotics, netipot, steroid spray from ENT which did not help at all.. . Last week, through a throat culture from my G.P., I came up positive for strep. I am currently taking sulfamthoxazole-tmp (am allergic to penicillan) for ten days and seem to be doing better.
Avatar m tn It is the last resort before surgery. Try it for 2 weeks, then stop for 3 weeks. If your problem has not begun to subside, then indeed consider surgery. http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/2322 The Flip-Turn Sinus Flush is mildly risky, because you have to bend over to do it, preferably in a shower, but you can also do it outside on soft ground, or you can kneel down and lean over a bathtub, or perhaps a plastic basin or tub, with the shower running for steam.
Avatar n tn Did you find any relief for this case? I have similar symptoms with my sinusitis.
1369218 tn?1282423884 I was on nystatin for 6 weeks and then took diflucan for a week and even did an oral nystatin for 7 days. I have just been to my regular doc and wondering if a dentist would be more helpful with this. Are there any over the counter remedies I can do too? Thanks!!
511654 tn?1211172151 Had oral sex with a guy unprotected no fluid exchange however the person heavily thrust ed twice during the act. one week later I developed tonsillitis, with nausea and headaches, and what felt like achy lymphnoids all over the body. Two weeks later I got a flu shot, and immediately following I developed meningitis symptoms that lasted four days, a week and a half after that I had a fever that lasted for 12 hours, still feeling sore all over body.
Avatar m tn I had cold 5 years ago and it laster for a month later on the ENT doctor told me it is sinusitis and then sinusitis is gone and i was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. The mistery is that since I had the cold for 3 weeks until I ha've had the the allergy I ha've had brain fog. I think the main cause is the congestion/inflammation, i've been feeling nasal congested 24/7 for 5 years.
