diflucan and thrush

I have been prescribed Nystatin rinse with little or no effect, and Diflucan 200mg first day and 100mg for six following days. All no resolution. I have had three HIV tests August 11, 2008, August 29, 2008 and October 10, 2008 all negative. I did take a course of antibiotics for three weeks in mid-August to early September including Doxycycline. Two questions, is it typical for oral candidiasis to be tough to clear up?

I took the Diflucan. Day 5 i got my period. What do i do now?? And can i re-fill my Diflucan to take when i am thru with the antibiotic?? And really no tampons?? at all??

You can try some saltwater gargles and probiotics. If your thrush persists, call your doctor for some Diflucan.

Did they give u DIFLUCAN for the thrush?...I get a reaction every time I take an antibiotic and need DIFLUCAN to help avoid a yeast infection.

t know so I guess the risk is always there. My fears come from the fact that I have been given two mouth washes and taken Diflucan for 10 days and nothing seems to be working on the Trush. It has never spread from my toungue, I have never had any ulcers, sores, or lesions. It is just white and feels dry. More white at the back. What can cause none of these medication to really work much. I believe they help a bit but they aren't curing it.

a little over a year ago I was drunk and me and a buddy of mine messed around, he said he used something but he could be lieing and it only lasted a couple of minutes if that because I passed out, then I freaked out and 22 days later got tested for everything and all came back good, now I took some antibiotics and got a yeast infection in my mouth and down below and it just seems to get worse even while taking the diflucan.

5 weeks ago I had sex with a csw, condom broke and a few days later had a night sweat and I developed a candida infection in my tongue and about 7 days later also in my penis foreskin, a few days later the candida on my penis went away but Istill have some thrush, is that possible to be ars? now I have fungus infection on my penis too and Im on diflucan but that's not working at all, is that a early hiv symptom?

If you can't wipe it off, it most likely isn't thrush. Especially since all the antifungals don't work. I would recommend seeing a dentist to find out what it is. Does the white patches changes in size and shape? It may be geographic tongue. Any symptoms?

What else can I take for resistant thrush if that is what it is? I take a high probiotic count, and I am suspicious i am allergic to diary ever since I had C. Diff (I get blotchy skin on my stomach when i consume dairy now) otherwise I would down Kefir like no tomorrow. Please help! I want this yeast to stay away, but it appears to be extremely resistant.

Got eight days until my baby is due and I have thrush :( already tried cream and vaginal tablet and it's not worked. Waiting for out of hours doc to ring me back to get more antibiotics.

I have tried to nystatin a couple of times plus difulcan 150mg for 7 days over and over since the end of September and I am currently on diflucan 100mg for 30 days since January 29, 2015. I am about done with that and it is still there..I can't get it to clear up. Just to let you know, I have lupus (sle), sjogren's syndrome, raynaunds, fibromyalgia, interstital cystitis, ibs, reflux, possible adrenal fatigue which I see my kidney dr.

Call ur Dr and they will most likely RX DIFLUCAN.....u can get Thrush from being intubated and getting a scratch in ur throat....... I had it after ankle surgery....and got on the meds right away and it took care of it... But if not treated it can make ur tongue swell and make talking difficult....not to say that it could not affect ur breathing....so call ur Dr.

No bacteria have been found before but Ureaplasma was cultured 2 weeks ago and he has prescribed Erithromycin 500mg qid for 7 days (a dose I understand to be very high and will undoubtedly spark off my thrush!). I have had blood tests last week: all within normal limits (blood glucose (fasting); full blood count; and autoimmune profile and I have no other health problems. My husband is circumcised and we have always used condoms.

Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. It is very common to get thrush after antibiotics as they kill off all the good bacteria and allow there to be an overgrowth of Candida (the yeast that causes thrush).

My primary care physician treated it with Diflucan to no avail and then with nystatin, again to no avail. I then went on to see the ear,nose and throat specialist. He stuck a scope up my nostrils and stated that I did not have oral thrush. He stated that I was dehydrated??? He then prescribed me 30mg of evoxac for 90 days. I am on day Two with the med and I see no improvement. What may you think this could be?

Antibiotics are one of the main causes of thrush and it important to take diflucan as soon as you take your last antibiotic to prevent geting thrush. But you also said you have taken diflucan many times so this may be of no help to you. Anyway you need to go back to your doctor and demand more investigation into this. what an awful time you are going through. Maybe you have become immune to diflucan? Say it to your doctor and see if there is anything else he could give you.

Hello, I had sex with a csw with preservative for about 3 minutes, didnt eyaculate or anything and about 6 days later I got trush and sore throad with lots of dry cough, I got tested at day 25 with duo test negative and now waiting for the 3 months mark, but Im having recurring balanitis and trush on my tongue wont go away, already took mycostatin, diflucan and dactarin and they always come back, Isnt it a bit early for these opportunistic infections to come?

I had had it for a while confusing it with all sorts of other things but I went to the docs and they gave me a tablet for it and cream and it all cleared up. Now it is 3 months later and I have developed Thrush again. Is this normal? I had the white discharge and itchy/red labia. No pain when urinating though. I also have shivers up and down my legs and goose pimples which I had the first time around. Does anyone else suffer from this?

Does this sound like thyroid to you and do you know why i would keep getting oral thrush? I have been treated many times with diflucan for vaginal yeast but the oral didn't devlop until after 7 months of flagyl, 2 steroid shots, ashtama inhlaer and bactrium treatment. Now it won't go away with diflucan treatment.
