I have had acne red marks, not scars, that just won't go away. I've had them for about 2 years now and have tried products such as Differin & Atralin with no avail. Is there any other solution? Thank you, Doctors!

I know, but as you say this is leaving you with scars. A synthetic topical retinoid like Differin will turn the skin over and completely remove the blemish. Or see a beautician or a nurse at a skin center who could extract the lesion without scarring, or carry out a chemical skin peel. Eloise.

I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...

1% i was on and minocycline 100 mg daily to 40 mg a day oracea for only redness and not pimples would help ?seems like it would make it worse..please explain...

I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time. I decided to google differin, and on their website it clearly said that differin should not be used on skin with eczma. Then I googled eczma, where it said that it is important to moisturise skin with eczma... So this contradicted the dermatologist telling me to not use my moisturiser and prescribing me differin.

Eryacne to apply in the morning which I think is a topical antibiotic and Differin at night. Since finding out that my androgen levels are high, my GP has put me on a contraceptive pill that contains anti-androgens. This has worked wonders! But I suspected that the pill causing some nasty mood swings and PMS so I switch to another contraceptive pill that contains a similar level of estrogene but surprise surprise, I acne has returned.

i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production,which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.

t mind using Differin by itself if it comes down to it. But, if these ointments do help with redness and scarring and is safe to use without making my skin worse, I will use it.

I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. Rubbing vitamin E into the scars 2-3 times a day with help. There is also a cream you can buy that is supposed to help fade the scars and I believe it's over-the-counter. Until they're gone, let them remind you of how far you've come and be proud...not ashamed. Don't allow them to make you feel ugly...they are your battle scars and you've won the battle! I am 20 years old. I have scars that come from chicken pox as a child, and bug bite scars. Hi there, my daughter has scars in her eyes due to toxoplasmosis. She is 29 years old before one year the doctor tell us about these inactive scars (maybe congenotal). She didn't know anything about them and she never had any problem (vision problem or reactivation). Now she wants to become pregnant but she is scared.
