Differin and scars

Common Questions and Answers about Differin and scars

differin

Avatar n tn I know, but as you say this is leaving you with scars. A synthetic topical retinoid like Differin will turn the skin over and completely remove the blemish. Or see a beautician or a nurse at a skin center who could extract the lesion without scarring, or carry out a chemical skin peel. Eloise.
Avatar m tn If untreated, acne can cause physical and psychological scars. It should be treated quickly and robustly and not refered to as "just acne". Best Wishes, Eloise.
Avatar f tn =/ i feel the same thing with you... bieleve me... i heard many good thing for snail cream espesially for acne and scars and i will try it for my scars and me... you can try it... you can also try a microdermabrasion,,, i suggest you epidermx II from internet. i went to dermatologist many times... the same and the same... i will try this 2 i said to you...
Avatar n tn Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take? By the way, I stopped applying the Differin when I got the reaction. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I got scars like Brad Pitt even though I am healthy, fit, active, lean, low body fat, full abs 6pack. It saddens me to go through this. Basically, I lost family in a accident about a year ago. No doctors will prescribe accutane for me. I tried organics, diets name it, Atkins, low gymcemic, no bread, no dairy or sugar or flour, low glycemic, anti inflammatory, even a natural pathic doctor priced at $125/hr. Little to no help. Temporary relief.
Avatar f tn Im not a doctor, however i have taken Differin and i would advise taking it constantly until the prescription runs out. Once it runs out, assess your skin- do you really need to keep taking it?? If this answer is a yes, refill the prescription and keep taking the Differin(In relation to taking it "permanently", i recommend doing this self- assessment everytime you fill the prescription, no matter how long you have been using it).
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Avatar n tn I get normal pimples tho but these come once in a while and theyre different and they start out as a small bruise and i can kind of feel a lump underneath but they stay there and manifest for longer and when they finally do pop theres alot of dark blood and pus and it always leaves a worse scar than my normal pimples. Shot in the dark if you reply but did you ever find out what it was or a solution for you?
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar f tn He provided me with some antibiotics and a gel called Differin.. Which is supposed to dry out your pimples and anything else concerning the " acne".. As I used the differin I did not notice any changes in the rash.. I went back after a while and my doctor decided to give me prednison for a week.. Which did ok.. the rash disappeared only to come back less than a week after finishing the prednison treatment..
Avatar n tn Eryacne to apply in the morning which I think is a topical antibiotic and Differin at night. Since finding out that my androgen levels are high, my GP has put me on a contraceptive pill that contains anti-androgens. This has worked wonders! But I suspected that the pill causing some nasty mood swings and PMS so I switch to another contraceptive pill that contains a similar level of estrogene but surprise surprise, I acne has returned.
Avatar n tn I am experiencing similar situatio after enjoying years of acne free face. I have tried everything humanly possible but I guess once its severe acne one has to limit expectations. Anyway,i am currently on Tab Azithromycin and topical benzoyl peroxide switched occasionally with topical retinoid at night. I use sebamed clear face gel as moisturizer cause it's oil free and irritant free, the last and most important thing is i avoid sun like it's a plague.
1632818 tn?1299941302 She told me to buy some cetaphil cleanser and gave me a sample, and then she prescribed me differin which she said was for my "acne". I found this strange since I only had one pimple on my chin, and that's about as bad as it ever gets (and I wasn't bothered by having a pimple). I clarified that my problem was that my skin was sensitive, sore and feels like its burning after washing, and asked if differin would dry out my skin.
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar f tn Acne scars and scars in general will fade over time. Many times we worry about marks on our skin and think everyone notices them or looks at them, when it is only us who pay attention to these "imperfections" we have. Truthfully, no one else really cares about the small scars everyone has, as no one has perfect skin. Plus, if the picture you have up is you, you can't notice a thing and you look pretty. I am being honest.
Avatar m tn Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
Avatar m tn I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
Avatar f tn Hi ~ I also have terrible scars from some unidentifiable insect maybe either fleas or chiggers but I don’t know. Some are even looking blackish instead of purple which concerns me. I too want to know how to get rid of these scars.
Avatar m tn hi, there was a study done in 2006 where they used low dose enalapril (10mgs) and over a 4 month period, it made 20 year old hypertrophic surgery scars completely disappear and reduced the keloid scars. more recently, a cream containing 5% captopril has been shown to reduce keloid scars. they are not hard to find if you type them into google.
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
20910642 tn?1627445346 Nothing else worked for me, as a result, scars have already formed. 95% of my scars are located on my cheeks and temples. 99% of the scars are "rolling" scars. I'm currently 25 years old and male, and I've been 1.5 years off Accutane and any oral medication for treating acne. My acne is now under control.
Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
