Avatar m tn Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
Avatar n tn Well what's the cause of milia and what do you do to stop and clear it? I wish my face regularly and I find these white, hard, dots on my face continue to pop up. It' on the higher portion of my cheek and around my eyes. Been getting them for years now. So how do you clear the current bunch and what measures do I take to stop them?
Avatar f tn I have heard of white ones that are called milia which are keratin build up into little cysts. A chemical peel or retinoid gets rid of them usually. Now red ones, could be the same thing. Do you have access to a board certified dermatologist? Would be best to check but it could be a variation of milia.
Avatar f tn Hello, Milia are white pimples that occur mostly on the upper cheeks, nose and chin. The best way to prevent milia is to avoid treating your skin with excessively harsh chemicals and to limit sun exposure. Also use good quality cosmetics and exfoliate your skin regularly. If still the symptoms persist then chemical peeling or laser removal can be done.
Avatar f tn You don't say how old you are. Keratin milia usually don't go away as the keratin dead skin debris is trapped inside the milia. I'm a female in my 50's and six years ago had a keratin cyst on my back near my spine. Normally these larger cysts usually these have a thick wall that unless you remove the wall, they can refill over time. My general physician excised mine with a tool that looked like a mini-box cutter.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me cetrizine hydrochloride 10mg for milia...is this enough for getting rid of milia under my eyes?
2114766 tn?1334496749 They are usually found around the nose and eyes. In children milia often disappears within two to four weeks. In adults it may require removal by a physician or a cosmetologist. Milia can sometimes be a result of harsh face washes or from repeated heat stress from hot showering on people with sensitive skins.[citation needed] Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.

Avatar n tn Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take? By the way, I stopped applying the Differin when I got the reaction. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I recently had a visit to the dermatologist where a spotted a small growth near inner thigh and diagonised it with it being probably Milia. However the medicine he subscribed to me (Flonida 5% cream (Fluorouracil IP) ) seems to be listed as used with Genital warts. Can someone clear out the confusion. Is Milia treated with such creams?
Avatar n tn Hi, This could be milia which are common benign skin findings. These are formed when skin remains trapped in a pocket on the surface of the skin. It can develop on the sun-damaged skin of middle-aged and older people. Primary milia found in infants tend to heal on their own within several weeks, though the secondary milia found in adults tend to persist. It is best that you have this evaluated by your dermatologist for proper management.
Avatar n tn They are benign, keratin-filled cysts seen in people of all ages. Milia are formed directly from sloughed-off skin and usually found on the faces of infants and adults. They can result from use of harsh cosmetics or heat stress from sunlight or hot showers. You should consult a doctor (or a cosmetologist) for diagnosis and treatment.
Avatar n tn i just looked at some cases of milia in adullts and his bumps are much much smaller and lie flat on his skin
Avatar f tn Im not a doctor, however i have taken Differin and i would advise taking it constantly until the prescription runs out. Once it runs out, assess your skin- do you really need to keep taking it?? If this answer is a yes, refill the prescription and keep taking the Differin(In relation to taking it "permanently", i recommend doing this self- assessment everytime you fill the prescription, no matter how long you have been using it).
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Avatar n tn It sounds like you have milia bumps sir. It's not an STD they just sometimes form for no reason, if the problem worsens see your doctor me he will most likely give you a retinoid cream that will get rid of the milia.
Avatar n tn Hi, Milia are benign, keratin-filled cysts that can appear just under the epidermis, around the nose and eyes, and sometimes on the genitalia. In children milia often disappears within two to four weeks. In adults it may require removal by a physician. Are there other signs or symptoms present? Can you elaborate more on the rash? If it still persists, it would be best to have it evaluated by your dermatologist. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn s very small more lik 1mm after a lot of googling it looks like ingrown hair or milia, I could be mistaken, but could it be syphilis? Any big difference between ingrown hair and milia and STDs? I am not that active and usually protected but there's always the chance..
Avatar n tn I am wondering if somebody can tell me what it is and if it appears to be something I should see a dermatologist for.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar f tn Impetigo is something that also occurs especially around the mouth and nose but that is not visually as you describe. Based on your description, milia sounds the most likely. Can you take the child to a dermatologist?
