233622 tn?1279338505 We both lost weight ~ she had a very drastic weight loss, I didn't. I believe the difference was that on the WW program, they teach you more "how" to eat and learning good choices along with portion control. I didn't really have my daily menus planned out ~ I don't like using a menu. I really want to do it on my own. In the Jenny Craig program, my sister bought her food from them. It was already made ~ all she had to do was heat it up.
Avatar m tn Since you didn't tell us what this plan consist of, I suggest you go back to your doctor and discuss making necessary adjustments to the plan to halt the weight loss. Also consider opening YOUR OWN new post on the Weight Loss forums.
Avatar n tn Everyone in my family is diabetic. I am 5'7, 260 lbs. I know if i lose weight and take better care of myself i can keep from being diabetic, but i am already getting the symptoms. Does anyone know of a web site or anyone i can talk to about the right diet or meal plans to get my health back in tune. I do have a membership to a gym and go every morning but have not seen any results yet other than my weight is now at a stable 260 instead of gaining.
Avatar n tn Doc says I'am borderline diabetic and need to lose weight. The drug was prescribed to help with the weight loss. However she stressed that you still need to watch your diet and exercise. I have been doing this for a long time but kept going up and down with my weight. I am 5 4" and currently weigh 235.5. I weigh in every Tuesday and after 4 days I lost 3 pounds. I am now starting to take the meds 2 xs a day so it will be interesting to see what happens next week.
Avatar n tn It should take about 2 months to get to that dosage but I'm getting kinda excited hearing about the benefit of weight loss especially since it was weight loss pills (metabolife and xenedrine) that caused me to find out that I was epileptic in the first place! The doctor told me that i might get tingling in my fingers and i might feel a little dopy but happy dopy he described it as, so I figure i can deal with that! If I start losing weight at a rapid pace i'll definitely post again!

Avatar n tn Hi everyone! I have been taking Effexor XR 150mg. for a month and I am experiencing weight loss. I went from weighing 169-172 lbs. to now weighing 155. I love this anti-depressant. I have found that it works for me when no other drug would. I have noticed that I get full fast and I have no desire to eat. I can only say that this drug has altered my sex drive considerably, but I was a bit over-sexed to begin with. The Effexor has made my sex drive more controllable.
Avatar m tn My sugar is still great but no more weight loss. I thought this was going to be my answer to weight loss prayers. I did have a lot of nausea and loss of appetite so I guess that had a lot to do with it. I have contacted the company but haven't gotten a reply. Let me know how you do.
471113 tn?1245112420 This was my 2nd time treating, and I did gain alot of weight after that . I mean alot. to the point became diabetic. So like I said.. I had it to lose. My sugar is perfect now. Just do not want to do it all over again. Exercise is helping, building some muscle too. So I guess 20 lbs is not so bad for 6 mos. I gained about an average of 1 lb per week.. Just gotta keep it here .. and do have to watch your eating habits after getting appetite back. Which I lost completely on tx.
Avatar n tn Glucomannan is a purified fiber from konjac root that is available as a bulk powder or in hard-gelatin capsules. For weight loss 1 to 3 grams before each meal has been effective. When using glucomannan and other dietary fiber supplements, it is best to start out with a small amount and increase gradually. It is recommended to drink at least 8 ounces of water each time any bulk-forming laxative, including glucomannan, is taken.
620923 tn?1452919248 LOL i never saw this thread before just now!! I started seeing a weight loss center here in erie 3 weeks ago today, and im 11 pounds down, with pretty much no exercise.. 48# to go!
Avatar n tn I don't even date because of the enormous weight gain. I found myself eating one meal a day now. Suddenly out of nowhere I ballooned and I won't even get on a scale. Nothing I wear fits me anymore and I don't want to go shopping for new clothing because I don't want to accept what is happening to my body. I need help because now depression is setting in. I am hungry and I am afraid to face the world. I even quit working because I don't want people to see me.
Avatar n tn I am now at my highest weight ever in my life time 200lbs. I paid a forturne to joined LA Weight Loss, I had had past success {30lb lost} with LA Weight Loss prior to the hysterectomy. I followed it to the letter for 12 weeks (which included a liquid fast, that I did twice) and lost NOTHING AT ALL. I was aggrevated, frustrated, humilated and I decided to give up on weight lost.
619345 tn?1310345021 About weight loss well I asked my doctor about losing weight and why cant I start before weight loss it is because the meds in the fridge are based on the weight before I gained weight he said get at least 8 kilos off but if I don't make the mark I will tx anyway with the meds I have made up my mind He said I most likely will not lose weight maybe he is just being him He now calls me Dr.
1406332 tn?1315966360 I would also try Googling exercise or weight loss plans for those with mobility impairments. There are also DVDs called sit and be fit. I think they focus on seniors but I am sure it would work for someone with limited mobility. Swimming and Water Aerobics might be another option. I found this site too http://exercise.about.com/cs/exdisabilities/a/disabilities.htm and it had links to Seated Strength Workouts. I hope that these suggestions help.
Avatar n tn It has been over the past month to month and a half that she has noticed some weight loss. I believe she is really watching her fat intake and carb intake, however, she is not doing anything like Atkins. When someone with diabetes is low, we all know they need carbs and in general need a certain amt. to balance out the blood sugars when insulin is taken. We know this disease called diabetes is a balancing act. Every time I have seen my sis take a shot, it has been in her arm.
Avatar n tn I understand that it takes a long time to get this drug out of your system and the weight loss is very slow. I think that most of the 4 pound weight loss is because I fasted for a few days and took UltraClear which is a powdered "metabolic detoxification" product you mix with water. I used to only be able to get it through a doctor but now it is avaibale on the internet. It is a de-tox flush that I thought would help get Lexapro out of my system. I think it has helped.
Avatar f tn Now with that being said I myself am considering bariatric aka weight loss surgery but as a tool to help me loose the weight that I have been unable to loose on my own but this is not even a cure not by a long shot However, it is something to consider. Now for every one that is reading this, think about this, what is causing the pcos? is it the chemicals in our food or in the water? is it our life styles?
Avatar n tn Hello Trixb, I have had the same problem for a long long time. I have had chronic sickness, loss of appetite, and was also told I could have BS or Crohn's Disease......I have been back and forth to the hospital for 2 years havin CT scans, X-Rays, Bariums, Ultrasounds, Camera's down my throat and up my back passage also. Still nothing!
Avatar n tn I went today for my first week weight check and my second shot.....my weight loss for my first week is 9.5 pounds!!!! Anyone else using Phentermine and B12? I would love to hear how other people have done on these meds. Good Luck to everyone trying...I want to hear your story!
Avatar n tn Also, if the bodygem said you needed roughly 1200 cals/d for weight loss, I really wouldn't go below that level because it can actually make it more difficult for you to lose weight. You also might want to consider seeing a Registered Dietitian but if you do, I'd make sure beforehand that they also have some type of exercise background (ACSM/ACE certification, Kinesiology Degree, etc.) I know it can be frustrating but don't lose hope.
Avatar n tn Hi ozarkskye, my advice is based on my own experience, as I'm not a physician but have been a diabetic for 11 years. There are many diet plans for diabetics, but the ones that work best are usually custom-made for individuals, tailored to their specific needs by their nutritionist/dietitian. Was the diet plan your doctor gave you created with your input and have you discussed your concerns with him?
Avatar n tn Maybe others will come along with additional insight. I'm not strongly versed on weight loss programs but do know diet fads are just that, fads. Injecting synthetic pregnancy hormones to lose weight is just weird and sounds dangerous. This link on hCG is a must read and contradicts all the marketing hype and mumbo-jumbo that is abound on the inet. http://tinyurl.com/hCG-hoax.
622845 tn?1280178034 If a person must eat only once a day, it is far better to eat a major breakfast and eat little or nothing at night. The trick to weight loss, however, is to NOT be hungry (for more than two hours in any case), to ensure that there is 'fuel' throughout the day. In this way, the body's metabolism stays at a steady hum and the person never gets too hungry. People who eat only once at night may over the long term be actually be inadvertently encouraging a food addiction.
988694 tn?1332363079 And I'm diabetic. It works for me, i usually have good weight loss and burn some fat off eating something like http://www.fatburnerdepot.com/healthy-1500-calorie-diet-meal-plan-for-any-fat-burner/ but i go to the gym and have a trainer too.
594189 tn?1386920207 I personally would not be able to go on a diet that didn't include all of the food groups. To me, a weight loss journey should be a life style change that a person can live with for the rest of their life, because if too many foods are restricted it's almost guaranteed that the weight will be gained back once "normal" eating is resumed. I wish you all the luck in the world with your new diet. Let us know how it works out for you.
225237 tn?1333142599 //www.atkins.com/Home.aspx read and understand how low carb nutrition plans cuts excess fat [lose weight] rapidly. Try the recipes. Plain and simple avoid foods that jack up your levels. Do not eat white foods or foods made with white flour as they are digested quickly and quickly enter your bloodstream as sugar; breads, crackers, potatoes, white rice and pasta. Always undercook whole wheat pasta. Overcooked pasta breaks down fast. Eat more vegetables, whole grains, poultry and fish.
649848 tn?1534637300 ), eat slower, eat more vegetables and fruit. Like you, I struggle with weight loss. It's been especially hard lately and seems to get more difficult as the months past. It's like my metabolism is winding to a stop. So I've set more realistic goals for myself, and I wonder if this may also help motivate you as well. I don't reward myself for weight loss, but I reward myself for healthy behavior. For instance, I have a new workout outfit hanging in my room.
