Causes diabetic weight loss

Common Questions and Answers about Causes diabetic weight loss

Avatar n tn If you were also complaining of excessive thirst and urination and loss of weight and muscle aches; the combination of symptoms might suggest that you get tested for diabetes. There may be other causes for your tiredness and headaches related to the IVF meds and I would talk with your doctor about this. Additionally, going through IVF can be a very tiring and stressful process in and of itself, so don't be too hard on yourself if you do tire easily.
Avatar n tn Doc says I'am borderline diabetic and need to lose weight. The drug was prescribed to help with the weight loss. However she stressed that you still need to watch your diet and exercise. I have been doing this for a long time but kept going up and down with my weight. I am 5 4" and currently weigh 235.5. I weigh in every Tuesday and after 4 days I lost 3 pounds. I am now starting to take the meds 2 xs a day so it will be interesting to see what happens next week.
Avatar f tn That would be an atypical side effect. For many people the opiate-like effect of Tramadol often causes drowsiness. Weight loss? I too have started to lose weight after only 6 weeks of taking between 50 and 100mg a day. The interesting thing is for the last two years I have exercised at least 3 times a week and pretty hard too. During the time I've been taking Tramadol, I have not been to the gym once.
Avatar n tn It should take about 2 months to get to that dosage but I'm getting kinda excited hearing about the benefit of weight loss especially since it was weight loss pills (metabolife and xenedrine) that caused me to find out that I was epileptic in the first place! The doctor told me that i might get tingling in my fingers and i might feel a little dopy but happy dopy he described it as, so I figure i can deal with that! If I start losing weight at a rapid pace i'll definitely post again!
604197 tn?1292308636 I was 43 when my accident occurred. I will probably not ever be the same again. I suffer from dizziness and loss of balance, loss of coordination and a tremor in my right hand whenever I try to write, eat or do anything that involves fine motor skills. But I still see small improvements after 4 yrs. so don't ever give up. Its a long road to recovery and I'm much better off than I was at first.
649848 tn?1534637300 we look forward to getting to know you and hope we can all be successful in our weight loss journey. I don't know about everyone else, but this past year has been a challenge for me, both physically and emotionally. I'm quite sure that I've gained and lost the same 5 lbs, at least weekly for the past couple years. Sometimes, frustration runs high, other times I look at lab results or my notes on how I felt at a given time and decide to "forgive" myself.
Avatar n tn I am concerned about weight gain from paxil because ive read alot of post fm others that claim paxil causes weight. Would love to hear some feedback. Thank You......
209227 tn?1242350345 Diabetic coma: Coma in a diabetic due to the buildup of ketones in the bloodstream. Ketones are a product of metabolizing (using) fats rather than the sugar glucose for energy. The best approach to diabetic coma is prevention. Careful diet, medication, and insulin dosing as needed should prevent ketone build-up. Patients with diabetes and their family members should be aware of the early signs of ketone build-up.
Avatar m tn My sugar is still great but no more weight loss. I thought this was going to be my answer to weight loss prayers. I did have a lot of nausea and loss of appetite so I guess that had a lot to do with it. I have contacted the company but haven't gotten a reply. Let me know how you do.
Avatar f tn He is post transplant and has cirrhosis again due to the recurrent Hep C and bile duct damage. I just wanted to know if this loss of weight is a typical side effect of the meds or if something else may be going on. I tried giving him Boost during treatment but the high protein drink worsened his HE so I had to stop it. I will contact his dr if he continues to lose weight. Thanks for your response and input.
Avatar n tn I am taking Wellbutrin and i wanted to know if it causes weight loss or gain. Also will it interact with my Lipo& B12 shots... please respond.
Avatar n tn I've been reading those threads related to the hCG shots for weight loss subject, and I suspect that once again (as it happened in 1974) the method will be misused by all those who only wish to grab a commercial profit from its use. Please let me remind you again, and again, and again, that hCG is a PRESCRIPTION drug that MUST be dispensed by a licensed Physician. hCG injections are PART of a comprehensive weight reduction program.
Avatar m tn if i had nerve damage due to this could it cause the muscle wasting and muscle twiching .could it eplain my vision loss and my hearing loss .back to staph can it infect the sinuses as well causing sinusitis?sorry i know i dont make it easy but hard for me to concentrate with the pain. also i was kind of vague but say mycoplasma was causing prostatitis ,and urethritis.
Avatar m tn More common symptoms for diabetes are increased thirst, increased urination, sometimes increased hunger and weight loss as well as low energy. My suggestion would be to take your daughter to her pediatrician to be checked and share these symptoms with him.
Avatar m tn Anxiety often causes us to eat less, and of course, alcohol is basically empty calories, so if you cut back on it, you could lose weight. It seems that you may be overly concerned about your weight. If I remember correctly, you mentioned that you suffer from hypochondria - you really do need to get some help with that.
Avatar m tn Hi Guys, here is an interesting and informational article... Weight Loss Surgery may keep diabetes and heart woes at bay for long periods of time -- and might even reverse some disease complications, new research suggests. Researchers at the Cleveland Clinic looked at a group of people with diabetes who underwent weight loss, or bariatric, surgery to treat their obesity.
Avatar m tn However, it sounds like you have lowered your blood sugar with your weight loss and it would probably be better now. You are doing well and I would continue keeping your weight in the normal range and you might want to lower your carb intake a bit. Two sandwiches are a lot of carbs and orange juice is very carb intensive. You have a tendency towards diabetes and everything you can do to keep it from progressing is good. Keep up the good work!
Avatar n tn Hi I am new here and i hope i am not breaking any rules but my question ia about what effects smoking pot (marijuana) will have on my son (20yrs old) who is diabetic. I am not 100% sure that he is doing this but am sure he has tried it at least once and i want to be able to give him all the correct information about the dangers he is putting himself in before i speak with him about this.
Avatar f tn First of all I am not a nurse ot doctor but I wanted to comment on the hair loss. I have also been prescribed topamax for pain, mood stabilizer and weight loss so I have been looking a lot on the net. I have seen a few things about hair loss. I wanted to comment on that. I have been a hairstylist for 24 years and one thing that I have noticed without doubt is that when one of my customers loses a significant amount of weight (25 lbs or more) they always have a loss of hair.
Avatar f tn I have seen posts about diabetic weight loss and weight gain but never one that concerns extreme cases of both. I am a type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump. I have had diabetes since my late teens. I am 45 now. I also now have some complications from the diabetes one of which is gastroparesis of the stomach. I have fought my weight all my life and in the last few years my weight has started fluctuating wildly. I will weigh around 160 lbs.
Avatar n tn Well my thyroid has beena roller coaster and I was actually getting to the optimal ranges and started gaining despite the fact that I continue to follow my weight watchers points. I even dropped to weight loss points and continue to slowly gain. I had a set back in November and my tsh was high and T3 was low. We increase my synthroid and added just a 1/4 grain of armour and I still continue to gain. I refuse to starve myself and I eat an average of 1200 calories a day.
Avatar f tn I don't know if the weight loss will start to pick up perhaps...or if this is just how it goes the 2nd time around doing Atkins??? I've read that the weight doesn't come off as easy the 2nd time perhaps that's what is going on. I would like any advice or tips or ideas or suggestions from anyone else out there who's trying to do Atkins or has been successful on Atkins, etc. I would be so grateful for any ideas or tips. I just want to see the scale move...
365714 tn?1292202708 Oh to look after a diabetic cat requires alot of love and commitment you are both very dedicated ppl. I'm sorry I can't offer any suggestions MJ, I'm happy you have a good Vet that has treated this before and knows what to advise...I do wish Waldo all our love and wishes that he may soon feel so much better once again... Avatar f tn Nearly all weight loss programs center around counting calories because lowering our calorie intake is what causes weight loss. If you are truly allergic to gluten or dairy, I can understand eliminating those from your diet, however, if you are doing it only to lose weight, I don't recommend giving up entire food groups. Dairy is very important to a well balanced diet, as are whole grains.
215905 tn?1214505001 Before I was diagnosed with thyroid problems, looking back, I had all kinds of hyper symptoms EXCEPT the weight loss....just my luck too!!! I fought like he// to lose 35 lbs over the course of 1 1/2 years (only 4' 11 1/1" tall). Even though I was hyper, I had to literally exercise my butt off to lose any weight. After TT and RAI I got kicked into menopause at 46....again....just my luck. All this hormonal inbalance has caused insomnia for over a year and chronic fatigue.
Avatar f tn back pain due to digenerative disc and sciatica, obviously overweight, diabetic(take pills), hysterectomy 2004 due to pain and polycystic ovarian disorder(complete removal). Family history: breast cancer and non cancerous tumors, diabetes, non alcholic chirosis of the liver(native american). Since becoming ill with constant nausea and vomiting, I have almost stopped all meds including those for diabetes. My sugar is dropping even with not taking meds. I go many times days without eating.
Avatar n tn I am now at my highest weight ever in my life time 200lbs. I paid a forturne to joined LA Weight Loss, I had had past success {30lb lost} with LA Weight Loss prior to the hysterectomy. I followed it to the letter for 12 weeks (which included a liquid fast, that I did twice) and lost NOTHING AT ALL. I was aggrevated, frustrated, humilated and I decided to give up on weight lost.
Avatar n tn I joined a boot camp 3 days a week and it has helped immensly on the aching joints. I am seeing muscle tone but absolutley no weight loss....I even increase calories like they said......went to Doctor and he too said it is menopause and some women will gain and I was one of them....I thought no way! I quit WW and joined Jenny Craig and stuck to it except for the occasional far 3 lb. gain...FRUSTRATING, I'll give it 3 more weeks. I want to prove the doctor wrong...
Avatar f tn To my knowledge it has not been approved by FDA for weight loss. It could cause one to go hypER, increasing heart rate, etc to dangerous levels. Just remember - what works for one, may not work for everyone. For myself, right now, I'd love to be able to get rid of this 30 pounds, but I feel so much better than I did, I'll just be happy with being able to get out of bed in the morning for now. Right now, I'm concentrating on feeling the same 2 days in a row.
