Avatar f tn if anything I probably need to lose a few haha. I know weight loss is a sign of diabetes...I'm not losing any weight though. I'm not sure if maintaining a healthy lifestyle affects symptoms of diabetes? My question is, can Type I diabetes show up as late as 25 years? What are some of the early signs? My doctor ordered some blood work which included a fasting blood sugar test. I got that done a few days ago, so I'm awaiting the results.

I'm always slightly shakey, and cant seem to keep my hand steady if i hold it out in front of me. 5.

Avatar m tn my husband had signs and symptoms of diabetes for 15years before he went to see a doctor. After all the usual tests it was confirmed and he has started on medication. He has diabetic retinopathy for which he is getting treatment and regular B12 injections and the doctor has given him all the usual checks. He last saw him in July last year but has seen the nurse for a blood test twice and his b12 injections. My worry is that he hates going to the doctor but he is getting increasingly weak .
Avatar n tn I'm not well versed on the symptoms of Diabetes, I don't know my father well enough to talk to him about it. I have a twin sister who also has these feelings in her legs and bones. Avatar n tn It should take about 2 months to get to that dosage but I'm getting kinda excited hearing about the benefit of weight loss especially since it was weight loss pills (metabolife and xenedrine) that caused me to find out that I was epileptic in the first place! The doctor told me that i might get tingling in my fingers and i might feel a little dopy but happy dopy he described it as, so I figure i can deal with that! If I start losing weight at a rapid pace i'll definitely post again!

Avatar n tn Hi everyone! I have been taking Effexor XR 150mg. for a month and I am experiencing weight loss. I went from weighing 169-172 lbs. to now weighing 155. I love this anti-depressant. I have found that it works for me when no other drug would. I have noticed that I get full fast and I have no desire to eat. I can only say that this drug has altered my sex drive considerably, but I was a bit over-sexed to begin with. The Effexor has made my sex drive more controllable.

Avatar m tn (He was always buff and muscular) Now he looks like an old man. Can blood clots cause extreme weight loss and muscle atrophy? BTW, he has been HIV+ since 1995, but had his last blood workup taken two weeks ago and it showed high t-cell counts (actual number and percentage) and NO detectable viral load. I am so afraid something else is going on in his body, but his doctor says it is just the blood clots. Can this be???
922048 tn?1387946184 All of my symptoms are pretty awful, but I think the most disconcerting is the rapid and severe weight loss I've had in the last few weeks. Avatar f tn You need to go the doctor. One of the symptoms of diabetes is weight loss. And really, since you were working out hardcore, your body weight should have really gone up since muscle weighs more than fat. One of the signs that I ignored was when my 13 year old lost weight. He was a tad on the chunky side and I attributed his weight loss to puberty and biking around the neighborhood more since it was summer.
Avatar n tn Thanks for taking my question: I'm a 26 y.o. healthy female. June 2003 my symptoms appeared as follows: Day 1 - pins and needles in left hand and arm, Day 2- spread to left leg, Day 3 - spread to all extremities and face. Symptoms lasted for about 8 days after which I was left with slight weakness feeling in left leg and left arm that presently comes and goes on a daily basis.
Avatar n tn So yes, you should get tested (A1C and/or OGTT) and meanwhile you should read up a bit on diabetes and watch for symptoms such as frequent urination and thirst as well as weight loss. But if you are pre-diabetic you might not have any symptoms. Eat regularly, get some exercise and if you have excess weight work on a moderate plan to lose the weight.
