Avatar f tn It seems to me, at least talking about the UK, that the HIV bandwagon is so well established that any mainstream respectable politician just about has to be on it. In addition, people in this country have access to antivirals which work, therefore are not dropping dead so much, so the horror and death is not among the voting public. It has become sanitised, acceptable.

Avatar n tn Mayo Clinic has reported some research findings based on a study in Russia where ALA was shown to ease diabetic neuropathy. At least at the time the article was written, the IV-formulation used in that study was not available in US. The article is a bit dated (April2003) but might shed some light. http://www.defeatdiabetes.org/Articles/neuropathy030416.
147172 tn?1226761778 I dont' understand your comments. Can you give some details? "Societies have collapsed under the weight of it (i.e. Russia). It breeds crime, illness, and collapse of family values. Its the reason that the United States penal system is violent and overcrowded. Its the reason that our health care system is burdened by a populace riddled with heart disease, mental illness and some cancers. " Regarding Russia and collapse? Penal system and heart disease and cancers?
Avatar m tn scientists discovered that gut microorganisms not only influence immune cell function, but actually support the production of immune cells that form the first line of defense against infection. About 80 percent of the neurotransmitter serotonin is produced in the gastrointestinal tract—not the brain. Since large quantities of neurotransmitters are manufactured in the gut, that means your GI tract is largely responsible for your general physical and mental well being.

A friend just told me about a new drug, that comes out of Russia, trade name "Muraglycine" (N-actylglucosaminlmurlpeptide???), supposedly it has been used to treat Hep-C very successfully without the side effects that go with the Interferon.
Avatar n tn The active ingredient in Supraglan is Eleutherococcus senticosus and the herb is currently being researched in Russia and Korea. Thus far, in human studies, when Eleutherococcus senticosus is taken regularly, it enhances immune function, decreases cortisol levels and the inflammatory response. The human subjects of this research, I believe, did not have Cushing’s disease, however.

Avatar m tn 2000 is copies in iU it should be around 400? As for the trials, I thought that since I am more or less ok now (fibroscan is good and the viral load os not too high) I had better wait until they get approval rather then test it on myself .... Who knows maybe the trials uncover some side effects...
Avatar f tn They are planning to do large clinical trials all over Russia. Not like here in USA 6 people and years in between stages. Funds are provided in part by the government there so there will be control over quality and accessibility to the medicine for people that need it. I really hope they succeed.
Avatar n tn Such wounds can also be treated by phage poultices, however this treatment is only available in the Republic of Georgia and some parts of Russia. It works very well with wounds such as you describe. It was a standard treatment for infections in the former Soviet Army. Soldiers were supplied with "phage packets" rather than anti-biotics. One of the pioneers in phage therapy was one of the two people who recieved the Nobel Prize for DNA, Watson and Crick.
Avatar m tn Sorry to be so sarcastic, but there is no significant country in which I have not worked, after college I worked only 4 years in the US, the remaining 40 were selling U.S. everything. Sort of scary, but 2 years in Russia, 3 in China, 1 in Australia, 1 in India, 2 in Canada, 2 in Great Britain, 8 in South America, Japan, Germany, Indonesia, Turkey and many others and finally Italy so I have had an odd diet and have seen some odd things.
Avatar n tn Nothing in the biopsy was of any concern to him because of my age and being in perimenopause, but he was concerned about the excessive bleeding I do and the drop in my blood values, being anemic and b-12 deficient again. I take supplements and get monthly shots. I shouldn't be deficient.
Avatar n tn Health care for profit is not very popular there. Because of it in Russia there became so much hepatitis b - because people were not checked routinely and many could not afford care like people in the US. That is why hbv spread. If HBV is caught early during the so called 30 day window and people are given interferon and their fluids are maintained along with needed minerals and vitamins hbv would never get chronic. In the west this practise is not done and seems like a phantasy too.

139792 tn?1498589250 i would add that effect ot trauma can be nullified if we learn to witness the traumatic event in the reverse form.I.e in you are insulted by somebody, visualize that you were apriciated.. Of cource this will be faking. Fake it till you make it. that should be the sloggan. In this way one can reduce the effect of trauatic events and be from the past garbage. Similarly all the failures should be turned into successful. Here also faking is used to vonvert the failures into cuccess.

931217 tn?1283484935 If it is false, which I believe it is, it is at best a benign placebo, but as you shall read in the embedded link, it is at worst a harmful form of charlatanism, perpetrated on people (and animals owned by like minded people) who are at their most vulnerable and at risk. That is an immoral circumstance. The fact that all is not known in medical science, and that some disease cannot be cured, much less palliated, does not justify selling fraud infused with false hope.
Avatar f tn This is sort of a long story but the short version is i've been sick for 7 months with facial numbness and head pressure and tingling. I had a CT scan back in October which only showed an acute mucosal change in maxillary sinus or something simliar to that. I was after just taking antibiodics though so i'm assuming there was probably an infection that at the time of the CT scan was cleared up enough to just show as inflammation.
Avatar f tn What do I do if my parents and my boyfriend want me to go back to AA, but I'm in fact not an alcoholic? Does anyone have experience with this? Please respond, I'm in a foreign country with a group I don't know well and no access to a telephone. I'm too afraid to tell anyone I know, this is the first time I'm "telling" anyone.
Avatar n tn Now let me tell you that there are plenty people in many countries have the same thing going on - I know about 40 people at least in Russia. I was trying to research this and went through every disease, and every symptoms. Tried many empiric treatments and I can say - this disease does react to certain antibiotics but long period treatment is needed.
131817 tn?1209532911 I've been a Kaiser patient for a quarter of a century, and yes, sometimes I've had to request a procedure several times before they caved in, but they have always caved in. I'm told that Kaiser is run differently than any other HMO in that their doctors are salaried and therefore find no advantage in denying care because their paychecks remain the same. However, I know about the transplant scandal in their Northern Cal operation, so maybe it's different where you live.
Avatar f tn The herb grows at high altitudes in the arctic areas of Europe and Asia, and its root has been used in traditional medicine in Russia and the Scandinavian countries for centuries. Studies of its medicinal applications have appeared in the scientific literature of Sweden, Norway, France, Germany, the Soviet Union and Iceland. Rhodiola is still widely used in Russia as a tonic and remedy for fatigue, poor attention span, and decreased memory; it is also believed to make workers more productive.

Avatar f tn I was toking and smoking at one point in my life. But, that's all in my past. I have smoked in appprox. 11 years and only had 1 glass of wine in the past 11 years(not on treatment) and haven't toked in 20 years. I really have gotten used to having that part of my life as history and this part of my life as a new chapter. Look at the bright side of things, I'm a designated driver if that situation ever came up.
Avatar n tn I am also 100% sure she has also not had sexual contact with anyone but me during our entire relationship. The complication of our marriage stems from us both living in separate countries, she in Russia, me in England. With the exception of her staying with me for the first five months of this year, we usually only get to see each other for a week or two, two or three times a year. We have now been together for almost three years.
Avatar m tn Ozone is used to treat viral infections in Cuba. In Russia they do UBI therapy with plasmafaresis sometimes along with antiviral therapy. Helps some patients. But I have not heard of cures of hbv. It is true that ozone will kill any viral particle in test tubes. But we have here in our situation a virus hiding inside a human cell/s. I think it is a good option for us. In cuba it is widely used.
