Actually, there is quite a bit of literature on the benefits of DHEA. The "catch 22" is that any makers of DHEA cannot make any solid claims when it is sold as a supplement. If they do it opens the door for government medical boards to regulate it and cause a legal hassle. So when you go to any vitamin store and carefully read the labels on any supplement, note that they won't make any solid claims like prescription medicines do.
I have been reading tons on DHEA and have decided to try it myself. I am 42 also. My FSH is good at 7.2, but I think there's always room for improvement. I have read a lot of impressive clinical studies on DHEA and think it's a good thing. It does take 4 mos to get the benefits from it. Good luck!
Hi all, I have started taking DHEA for just over a week now my doctor recommended I take 25mg in the morning and 25 mg at night.My AMH levels are low, but I have not started ivf yet and just wandered if you can conceive naturally taking DHEA cause everything im reading about it seems to be related to ivf..

Sounds about right and his energy levels, he could give himself a boost by taken some DHEA, its a hormon that us men need, but as we get older it reduces, it will boost his testosterone, his libido and his enegy levels, get these going right and he should be back to his old self in the bedroom.

The Dr. had me take a test for my DHEA level which came back at 58. I do not know exactly what the DHEA level is and I won't be able to talk to my dr. until tomorrow night. They mentioned 58 was on the low side, so they want me to take DHEA pills. Has anyone taken these pills before? Did you get your levels checked? Is this a new thing fertilty clinics are testing for? I read the side effects and it kind of scares me.
With this you could either try some Tribulus a herb ,or some DHEA a hormon, the DHEA you read up about, as it can have some funny side effects with the odd person, and they both will help with your testosterone, boost your libido and energy levels.
Look Iknow you say your testosterone is OK, but these are both well known help for ED.
A very expensive womens hormone menopausal forumla, or one for men that was at least a 1/4 of the price, and was pure DHEA without all the other fluff products added.
I took the DHEA, but as i was on clomid and HCG shot, and nearly had my cycle cancelled due to ovarian hyperstimulation, so i since have held off on taking anymore.
Hi Nester, Not such a big problem to worry you to much, but yes you tank could be running low, You could try some DHEA to help boost things up, its just a hormon that we do have in our bodys but starts to run low as wqe get older, but please read up about before you take it, as it can have the odd funny side effect with the odd person, but it is said to incress our load, so it may help you in your quest.

Also is taking DHEA something new? Is there or has there been a medical tested need to supplement with DHEA?
Reason why I ask is that DHEA can cause aggressivness. And many weight lifters etc who take DHEA have reported getting overly aggressive and potentially even violent. This would be similar to "roid rage" that occurres when athletes take steroids to gain weight/strength.
So my first thought would be to try to stop or reduce taking the DHEA and see if that helps.
