Avatar f tn ve been diligent with taking my vitamins since. Has anyone else been Vitamin D deficient and had to take a supplement? If so, did baby come out healthy? Thx.
668044 tn?1225913014 I take One A Day Prenatal with DHA/EPA. The box (for $13) comes with one bottle of 30 prenatals and a bottle of 30 DHA/EPA pills. I have been taking them together through my pregnancy. My OB recommended them if the ones she prescribed didn't work out (they gave me a stomach ache so I went with One A Day). I have heard nothing but good things! I recommend them!
Avatar n tn check also vitamin d level, i also used to take a lot of paracetamol for bone pains but since i started vitamin d supplement because i was severely deficent (new normal values 30-100ng/ml optimal 50-60ng/ml) all pains are gone we might also suppose that hbvdna very low or und is the reason but i do think bone pains are related to vitamin d deficency which is made by cronic viral infections, on hbv more than 95% are deficent
Avatar f tn Make sure you take the vitamin with iron. You need the rest but you really need iron during pregnancy. Not taking the proper suppliments can lead to birth defects.
1885735 tn?1322375616 I take both, a prenatal vitamin and a dha supplement. I have been since I was 4 weeks (when I found out), and now I'm 27 1/2 weeks. I always take them with food though.
Avatar n tn What brand of prenatal vitamins is everyone using? Im using nature made with dha. Just wondering if there is one kind of prenatals that are better than another.
4326583 tn?1354714047 I was sort of skeptical about it @ first b/c even prenatal vitamins LACK amounts of some of the most vital vitamins pregnant women need...like calcium, vitamin d and iodine - and depending on the brand, sometimes even DHA and Iron!! So it was kind of a shocker to be told I could supplement 2 children's vitamins for 1 prenatal vitamin!
Avatar f tn My doctor is big on dha. I take preferaOB ONE they have pre/post-natal Nutritional Supplement+DHA they're pretty good but its prescribed without insure they cost $123.00 :/. They also sell milk with DHA its pretty good but expensive.
Avatar f tn Hi all. 27yr old healthy female. Recently found out my vitamin d level was 19nmol. Ideal levels are around 50. Been suffering from extreme brain fog, constant haziness, blurred vision, problems concentrating and fatigue. Can vitamin d really be the cause of all this? And if so, how long did it take to build your levels up and feel better? Been given 50000 IU once per week for 6 weeks and have gone to the Caribbean for a month's holiday to try to get my levels up faster.
Avatar f tn I started taking omega3 fish oil supplements, and my Dr was fine with it. I take that along with my prenatals and vitamin D, and a teaspoon of coconut oil..
1492421 tn?1290300515 personally i take a high quality prenatal vitamin ( Sisu expecting) , a folic acid and a dha. I buy from our local health food store and the ladies there said you can never get enough folic acid. I take the dha kinda for the same reason, most people are low in dha and its extremely important for brain development.
13663674 tn?1431713461 Thank u ill get them tomorrow mornin, thought my midwife would have told me she only mentioned to keep taking folic acid and vitamin d as I'm low on that, thanks again x
Avatar f tn I take for my current pregnancy MorDHA Prenatal supplement which is highly purified. My youngest son was given DHA free formula once breastfeeding stopped and then supplemented with Babies Only DHA from egg phospholipids because I refused to give him vegetable sources of DHA.
Monkey If you were my patient, I would advise you to go ahead and use your calcium supplement, but to discontinue your other multivitamin IF it contains vitamin D. You should probably try to find a supplement that does not contain vitamin D, but has all of the other components in your current one. Too much vitamin D can be harmful. Good luck!
628735 tn?1273875777 I had actually never looked in Vitamin shoppe for the childrens omega-3 supplement.
Avatar f tn What you want is a whole food sourced organic prenatal vitamin. Typically rainbow light prenatal are good for those who want an easy 1 a day whole food based vitamin. It will provide you and your developing baby with the essential nitrients. Personally I use garden of life prenatals. You need to take a DHA supplement as well for your babies brain and nervous system development. One good option is Nordic naturals prenatal DHA.
Avatar n tn Repair mucosal lining by supporting healthy intestinal mucosal cells, goblet cells and overall immune function with extra essential fatty acids, zinc, vitamin C and natural vitamin A and D from cod liver oil. Additionally, consider checking for adrenal stress. There are saliva tests available that check levels throughout the day. Adrenal stress can contribute to GI stress and low IgA levels. Lastly, exercise and relaxtion techniques can help increase IgA levels. Good luck.
Avatar f tn It's not usually due to something as serious as cancer.....I live in Oregon and was told that it's due to the latitude and longitude of where I live as well as the lack of sunshine here........and a poor diet. The supplement pills had no noticable side effects and corrected my level in 12 weeks. I've had to repeat the treatment about once a year though. I think one thing that can be problematic is if you need surgery......
Avatar f tn Thanks dearies
Avatar f tn Theyre called VitaFusion. Theyre awesome and taste a lot better than the regular ones.
1515564 tn?1431383300 Hi Eluriajen: I had mine tested and they were normal, however they recommend everyone in Canada now take Vitamin D supplements due to our lack of sunshine. I take 4000 mg a day. Canada has a high rate of certain autoimmune diseases such as MS, and there is some theory it is due to lack of sunshine (Vitamin D). I have shown low B12 on my last two blood tests which seems funny to me and I am now supplementing for that as well.

541196 tn?1293552936 I take a multivitamin daily with 800 iu of Vitamin D. I also recently added 4 gummy vitamin D's that total an addition 1200. I have been hovering with a deficiancy of around 19... today I got the labs back and now I am down to 14. My dr. said she needed me to add 50,000 iu weekly and then after a month go to doing the 50,000 iu once a month in addition to my normal daily 2,000. I am frustrated. I have hashimotos. I was just increased from 88 to 100 mcg of Synthroid this week.
