t feel like breast milk is a good source of nutrition as you guarantee the amount of vitamins and minerals in each feeding of breast milk. Where as with formula, I can look on the label and see exactly how many vitamins and minerals my baby is getting per serving. My theory is, if breast milk is so much better for a baby than formula, then why do you need to feed a every 2 to 3 hours on breast milk and every 3 to 4 hours on formula?

Most of the breast-fed babies develop lactose intolerance which usually self corrects but not always if it is a cow milk or a formula milk "problem" or allergy/intolrance with some dietary ingredient. Most babies with milk allergy are allergic to cow’s milk protein, while others are allergic to soy protein, and some to both.
Breast-fed infants normally have stools that look like watery, yellow cottage cheese.

My Doc prescribed me prenatal vitamins and prenatal vitamins with DHA.
I went to the pharmacy for a refill and the pharmacist was very surprised that I am taking both vitamins. She said that they both have the same ingredients, except that the one has DHA in it. It's like I am taking double dose.
Do you have any ideas if it's dangerous for my baby? I am in my 19th week. I wrote to my doc, he hasn't answered yet.
Yes it's a liquid that you take a tsp a day of while in your third trimester and for the next 18 mths if you nurse that long.
What brand of prenatal vitamins is everyone using? Im using nature made with dha. Just wondering if there is one kind of prenatals that are better than another.
Babies will eat until they're full and then they stop. But, sometimes a baby will eat to be soothed. It sounds like the cool milk must feel good on her tummy but then she ends up paying for it with pain because she's so full. I would have to research this because it's been awhile but a month old baby usually drinks about 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours. That would be at most 24 ounces in 24 hours. Yes, I agree. Your grand daughter is getting too much formula.
I'm going to breastfeed the first couple days when all the best stuff is there and then I'm going to formula. I honestly don't like the fact that only I could feed and I don't wanna be a cow and milk myself. Lol. Plus I'm doing school and all and when I'm in class the father is watching the baby and he wants to formula feed. So formula for us. That's what my mom did and I am fine.
