10939157 tn?1413971264 Nestle Good Start with DHA and ARA Natural Cultures had the highest review standing. DHA and ARA are important in the promotion of immune system function, growth and development, as well as, eyes and brain. This formula topped the list, as it contains "comfort proteins," 100 percent whey protein from cow's milk. It easily breaks down during digestion and is available in powder, concentrate, and ready-to-feed preparations.
6797455 tn?1391513860 m trying my best. I take prenatal vitamins that have folic acid and dha in them.
432779 tn?1364494875 I also have the plain Gerber cereal also in case the DHA/ARA irritates their stomachs. They make the DHA/ARA in the baby food also..Gerber. I have found Target to have the best prices on baby food.
1492421 tn?1290300515 personally i take a high quality prenatal vitamin ( Sisu expecting) , a folic acid and a dha. I buy from our local health food store and the ladies there said you can never get enough folic acid. I take the dha kinda for the same reason, most people are low in dha and its extremely important for brain development.
Avatar f tn It will provide you and your developing baby with the essential nitrients. Personally I use garden of life prenatals. You need to take a DHA supplement as well for your babies brain and nervous system development. One good option is Nordic naturals prenatal DHA.
1003723 tn?1306252350 I usually only give Peri about 1 bottle a week mostly on Sundays when I haven't pumped enough for church. Otherwise she's getting breastmilk.
Avatar n tn ve heard as long as you are eating healthy the baby is getting nutrients from your food, just needs the folic acid in tablets to prevent spina bifida and other defects. :) ask you're doc if you want to find out .
Avatar f tn Eirlis is correct, you need more than just the folic acid. Go to walmart or another large food chain and you can get a pregnancy vitamin with approx 800MCG (micrograms not milligrams) of folic acid. Dr's reccomend taking approx 2-5 milligrams of folic acid only if you have had a child with a neural tube defect (spina bifida, etc). the 5mg won't hurt you or the baby if you do get pregnant.
Avatar f tn Centrium prenatal- has the multi and dha. And nature valley with dha. Definitely get something with dha so important baby's brain development!
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
1192727 tn?1282735542 DHA is a omega fatty acid but buy it by itself in pharmacies and NOT as FISH IOL becase fish iol has ETA as well and it may affect the baby. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid. It is found in cold water fatty fish and fish oil supplements, along with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Vegetarian sources of DHA come from seaweed.
Avatar f tn You can try Flintstones also.
Avatar f tn Prenatal vits don't have DHA in them. So you do need to take the extra vit. It's very beneficial for you & baby. I've taken the extra DHA vit during all of my pregnancies. I also take a calcium vit before bed, the extra calcium is good for U and baby. I don't think my dr said anything to me either but I told him when at my 1st apt he wanted to know everything I was taking, vits & if any other medications.
Avatar f tn Best thing to do is ask your doctor for samples. They have plenty to give away. I survived off samples & never had to purchase vitamins during or after pregnancy. Plus, there's different types of vitamins some with dha, some that don't. I prefer dha. Then there's vitamins that contain stool softeners or nausea pills. I was nasuated in my firstttrimester, so the ones with nausea pills helped a lot.
1414887 tn?1287903364 If your not eating well try to make sure you at least take the vitamins, If you can get prenatal vitamins with DHA that is the best, if not you can also add DHA from fish oil or a DHA supplement. As for fruits and/or veggies can you have a few bucks to buy an apple or two (or other fruit or veggie) from the store every day so the family doesn't eat it on you? Try to relax and enjoy the pregnancy as much as you can!
Avatar f tn Why can you not do pills may I ask ...
Avatar f tn My prenatals don't have DHA, should I switch from rainbow light?
Avatar f tn t have iron in them and the baby needs iron. So my doctor told me to take a iron supplement called vitron c too.
548642 tn?1266179652 I was told to don't take any vitamins, only folic acid until month 4 and after that iron. I took them during the first three months because I got them in the farmacy and they were specific for pregnancy, but my doctor told me that its better to get the vitamins from the food. He said that sometimes its too much vitamin for the babies. in the pills Anyway I don't know if I agree with him.
Avatar f tn The one a day pill is but the dha is not.
Avatar f tn I love the nature made with dha. I take an extra folic acid of 400 mcg to equal the amount in a prescription prenatal. Never had an issue with sickness or nausea. Good luck!
Avatar f tn First pregnancy, I'm due in a week and still not feeling pain. What can I do to speed up the Britton my baby???
1225070 tn?1344709174 Quick question ladies, I threw up this morning literally 1 minutes after taking my chewable baby aspirin, I took it with my food and washed it down with my gatorade...I didn't throw up all of my food, just the gatorade first and then some of my grits (sorry tmi)...My question is should I take maybe a half a baby aspirin to make sure I get some in my system...
