dha

Avatar f tn It will provide you and your developing baby with the essential nitrients. Personally I use garden of life prenatals. You need to take a DHA supplement as well for your babies brain and nervous system development. One good option is Nordic naturals prenatal DHA.
Avatar f tn I work at a health food store and New Chapter is by far the best brand of vitamin you can buy its made from all whole foods so you can take on an empty stomache and it has probiotics in it which are great for any stomache ir digestive issues you might experience through out your pregnancy.
Avatar m tn Rainbow light complete prenatal & Nordic Naturals Prenatal dha!
Avatar f tn I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my 1st child. Just had my first prenatal visit over a week ago. Doc said he wanted me start omega pills & handed me a flyer with different brand name options. The one that stood out was Nordic Naturals. I went to their website, click the pregnancy tab & reviewed the options for pregnancy which were Cod liver oil & Prenatal DHA. My best friend who already has a child told me the cod liver oil was the best so I decided to buy it.
Avatar n tn A good one is Nordic Naturals marine algae EPA /DHA it is non gmo, and mercury free.hope this helps you!
Avatar f tn Flax oil isn't equivalent to fish oil. While both contain omega 3 oils, the oils they contain are quite different. The reason your shrink recommended fish oil is it's high quantity of EPA and DHA. DHA in particular is essential for proper brain function. Some people do feel lessened depression with a high dose of fish oil daily. I don't know about anxiety. Make sure you buy one from a good company that uses clean fish; I prefer Nordic Naturals.
Avatar f tn I also take Garden of life raw prenatal, raw Co q 10 (our bodies produce less as we get older ),raw iron,Nordic Naturals algae omega for EPA and DHA, these things will optimize pregnancy. Help the things you can control the rest is prayer and in God's hands ! I wish you the best! It could just be implantation bleeding. I am 46 and now happy to be at 29 weeks! Praise be to God!
Avatar f tn Another great supplement to take while pregnant along with your prenatal is omega-3. My doctor recommended Nordic Naturals prenatal dha tabs. They have 400 units in each tab of vitamin d. I take it twice a day along with my prenatals that also have 1000 units. Plus the dha is promotes healthy brain, eyes, & bones for baby as well as support a healthy mood for momma.
Avatar n tn Also I take Nordic Naturals Algae omega for DHA and EPA which is very important for babies brain development and in preventing post partum depression in moms. Get lots of rest. Be positive, stress is bad for you and baby! Best regards!
Avatar f tn The doctor was amazed with his muscle tone. I credit these results to taking these prenatals as well as Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA.
1225070 tn?1344709174 Btw, I am taking baby aspirin, which I just read was really bad to take with fish oil (glad I didn't take it yet) so is this DHA safe to take with b/a?
1355431 tn?1369975306 ve ever been in has Source Naturals fish oil on the shelf, but they always have Nordic Naturals and Carlson, plus some cheaper oils and now New Chapter, which is even more expensive but has low dosages because they use a very expensive lower heat process. It's all good.
Avatar n tn Has natural folate instead of lab created folic acid which can be toxic to your system. Also Nordic Naturals Algae Omega for EPA AND DHA important for babies brain development! VITACOST.COM HAS these at better price than most places!
Avatar m tn I don't know if the connection is there, but keep in mind until someone got the horrible idea of killing krill, on which the most endangered ocean species depend, so we can have another source of omega 3 oils, people have never consumed them. So who knows what sensitivities might be out there? Fish oil is pretty much as good, and maybe even better for DHA, so you should be fine using fish oil if you feel the krill oil is affecting you adversely.
871965 tn?1241833146 From what I get, the basic vitamins are for general good health so it is ok to simply take a multivitamin (my OB recommended flintstones) Flintstones have all the needed vitamins without having too much vitamin A which can cause birth defects. For pregnancy the most important things are folic acid, at least 800mg (prevents neural tube defects like spina bifida(sp?)), and DHA, a form of omega fish oil responsible for developing brain, nervous system and eyes.
Avatar n tn Try supplementing with EPA and DHA when mother's level is low (baby takes what it needs)is common to have post partum depression. Nordic Naturals makes one called Algae Omega, no mercury since not fish sourced, easy on stomach, no burps, etc. Good for pregnancy and after especially if breastfeeding!

Avatar f tn Nordic Naturals, in gel caps. That protects them from oxidizing. This company uses fish only from one dedicated fishery in a protected area of Norway; it's the reason the company was started.
Avatar f tn Dr. Fuhrman says this is more common in women when their EPA and DHA levels are lower, and if you didn't supplement these during pregnancy your levels could be low, baby takes what they need for brain development. I supplement with Nordic Naturals Algae Omega,it's mercury free. You can check out his website online. Hope it helps. Take care, God loves you and cares for you!
Avatar n tn I bought Garden of life whole foods prenatal and I take Nortic Naturals algae oil for DHA.
518994 tn?1212242047 We work with a company called Nordic Naturals, and I use their pet-specific liquid omega-3 product. We refer to dosing guidelines that have come from oncology, and we dose to the DHA at 30 mg/kg/day. ********************************* Here is that reference: nordicnaturals.
Avatar f tn Cod liver oil isn't the best fish oil for inflammation or for omega 3 oils. It comes in gel caps, which you don't taste at all. Nordic Naturals is a very good brand for omega 3 rich fish oil.
Avatar n tn a good brand is Nordic Naturals and you can buy it at health food stores or speciality vitamin stores. It';s really good. They have a website and they have done a lot of research on the products. very pure. Stay away from teh cheaper brands, they are often rancid and cause more harm than good.
Avatar m tn Yes! Try to find some high strength fish oil with D3. Nordic Naturals has a good combo, also some magnesium. It's helped me immensely with mood and energy levels.
