depression

Avatar f tn That is not like me, and I also had continual heart palpitations all day too. That scared me, has anyone else had the heart palpitations, does it go away eventually? I haven't taken anymore today yet. I have a history of heart palpitations due to anxiety. Any help or advice would be appreciated from anyone. Thankyou in advance!
2010625 tn?1329375656 Have any of you had heart palpitations without feeling anxious, or with no anxiety attack? I did an experiment and took an Ativan (I only take them as needed) to see if it would make them go away. That was an hour ago, and no change they are still there. I have been to the doctors a couple times recently, and they saw nothing abnormal. I guess anything is possible, but this just seems odd to me??? So what do you guys think?
Avatar n tn Hi, ive been getting palpitation type feelings for the last 5 months or so, my heart does not race or go any slower, its just a constant fluttering feeling in my chest which i find very distressing, iv also had feelings of passing out but havent actually passed out but was in tears over the feeling. Ive been to my doctors who did blood tests and an ECG but all came back no problems, was told it could be stress related so was put on propranolol, a medication to help the feeling.
Avatar n tn Somatic complaints, such as pain or palpitations, frequently accompany depression. Often, when the depression is gone, the other symptoms lessen or go away entirely. The combination of fatigue and palpitations, along with an otherwise normal cardiac exam, should prompt a search for depression. Q:"My heartrate seems to be always slow, like 50 beats a minute. I don't practice sports. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn If neither of these options work and you PVCs persist, you can try a medication like flecainide. This medication is only for significant symptoms and is used in conjuction with a beta blocker. It can only be used in people without coronary disease. There are some risks to flecainide. That is why it is the last choice of medications. 4. If these don’t work and the PVCs are frequent, ablation is an option. PVC ablation can be successful, but is always the last resort. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Could this be the reason for palpitations? No. 2. I usually get around 10 palpitations where it feels like my heart stops and starts again but last night I was thinking about palpitations when I was watching TV and it starting doing a rythum like this - normal beat, clunk, normal beat, clunk, normal beat, clunk. It did this for about 20 minutes. I have a stethascope and was laying there listing to it to this. Freaks me out. Is this normal???
1720325 tn?1327292256 Hi.I am 55 year old female.i have been suffering from palpitations for many years.I had a 3 week holter monitor done.It shows many pvc's,pac's and two events my heart doctor described as svt had a normal stress test about a year ago. have been on metropropol er 25mg once a day and it doesnt seem to be helping anymore.I have tryed rythmol but discontinued because of stabbing headaches. My doctor suggests a hospital stay to try sotalol since i seem to not be tolerating the other meds.
Avatar n tn I suffer from severe heart palpitations (female - age 39). Five to six times per day I feel funny things going on in my heart. Sometimes I get three hard beats followed by a pause and then a thump. Other times I just get a thump and yet other times a fluttering feeling. I have been through every test imaginable and the doctors cannot find anything wrong with me.
Avatar n tn I started having palpitations about a year ago. There is a thump in my chest followed by a short pause. A year ago they started infrequently......a few times per day and increased over the course of several days until they were several every few minutes. Then it seemed to resolve and I would only experience them evry once in a great while. Just last month, right around the beginning of my menstrual cycle, it started again. It started off with just a few and increased to very often.
Avatar m tn Have had palpitations for five years now and in the last 1/1/2 years has gotten much worse. Not much help from my different doctors. They have done many tests and said it won't kill me and calcium blocker one cardio prescribed helps sometimes but when I get a bad episode can't do much of anything all day is a ridiculous way to live. Any feed back will be appreciated and I'm 59 yrs. old. And no I'm not a nervous person. Can give more details if needed. Beta blockers don't help either.
Avatar m tn most of the time, pvc's and pac's are of no real concern and just like hiccups but in the heart - there is no "perfect" heart beat or rhythm we all have irregular ones just some of us are really unlucky and feel them all I've had some type of arrhythmia for over 35 years since I was 9 years old but didn't find out until I was 42 what they were because dr's told me what I was feeling was nothing to worry about and "normal".
Avatar n tn Palpitations are the sensation of feeling your heart beat and can come from premature atrial or ventricular contractions, anxiety/depression, among other rarer causes. The first step is usually an EKG and holter monitor to correlated the symptoms with possible arrhythmias. It is usually PAC/PVCs. Assuming it is PAC/PVCs, it is common to have the sensation of a pause then a thump often associated with a cough.
400867 tn?1371756694 I just started a medrol pack today and I'm having heart palpitations. I've heard that this can be a side effect of steroids but I wanted to make sure. Help! Thanks so much.
Avatar n tn This year instead of heart palpitations I have experienced dizziness nausea and muscle aches. It is now August and the heart palpitations along with dizziness have come back with seasonal allergy symptoms. I am going to start taking an all natural allergy medicine to see if that will help.
994817 tn?1249741878 I was getting horrible heart palpitations along with a racing heart for no reason at all...however my symptoms were accompanied by nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, sweats and feeling like I was going to pass out. Ended up in the hospital for it and was diagnosed with IST (inappropriate sinus tachycardia). It's an issue with the thymus gland and will cause the heart to race and have palpitations for no reason.
Avatar n tn Could you please tell me if there is any signifance to the amount and hardness of heart palpitations. I am a 38 year old female who suffers from heart palpitations almost daily. I usually have between 10 - 20 skips or strange sensations in my heart per day. Sometimes the skips are REALLY hard. I have no heart disease and a completely normal heart so I am told not to worry. My question is 10 - 20 abnormal beats a lot during one day and is there any significance to how hard the skips are.
909086 tn?1242664364 , but my biggest complaint (that doesn't fit symptoms of hypo) is heart palpitations. At their worst, I was having them for sometimes 5 - 6 hours a day. I did see a cardiologist, who did an EKG, echocardiogram, and also had me a wear an 24-hour heart monitor. After reviewing all of the tests, the cardiologist said that I had a perfectly healthy heart, and that the palpitations were most likely a result of hypothyroidism.
Avatar n tn I am also having heart palpatations. Also having pains in left side of chest. I was in ER in a-fib with 180 beats for 4 hours. Doctors did c-scan found no problems with heart. Blood pressure never went up, reading from blood were great and since I do not smoke or drink, and I had a heart cath 6 years ago, they ruled out blocked arteries. They gave me lanoxin to keep heart regular and axid for butterfly and skipping beats. Question is when do you know to go to hospital?
Avatar n tn My doc says it deals with my stress, anxiety and little bit of depression but can;t understand how that can affect me feeling my heart beat..I get a little bit of loss of breath but its no big deal..I am chlostaphobic and sometimes when i am in a normal place it feels like i need to go outside and catch my breath..Also i quit smoking like a week ago and going through that and all the anxiety i guess its too much for me right now...
Avatar f tn After two weeks the results came back, and I was treated with new antibiotics. I complained to my Doc that my heart was racing severely, he gave me Atenolol ( to quiet the heart rate) and Apo Lorazapam( as he thought I was anxious) to take together with the antibiotics. I purchased the medication by the pharmacy and pharmacist wrote the wrong direction on prescription for apo lorazapam. I slept well for days and nights. i was overdosed but did not know.
1427932 tn?1282989817 GERD and cardiac problems have a lot of the same symptoms and heart problems should always be ruled out first. Palpitations that wake you from sleep could be an indication of an irregular heart rhythm, it may be normal for you but you need to have your doctor make that call. Neck pain, abdominal pain, cold extremities from circulation issues, fatigue can all be cardiac as well, different medications can cause issues. You didn't mention if your doctor was aware of all of your symptoms.
416178 tn?1215764590 I was curious whether or not anyone else out there experiences heart palpitations out of the blue? I have had chest x-rays, echocardiograph and worn a 24hr holster...everything came back normal. Yet I experience heart palpitations and an almost tingling or excited feeling in my chest at times. They were beginning to improve untill I tried meds for a day and now I'm just about back at square one. My doctor says hes not worried about me...
687079 tn?1230952212 Finally, after another 6 months, he ran another thyroid test (at my insistence) and found out I was hypo. After, being on thyroid medication for 2 weeks, the heart palpitations went away and have been gone until now. My doctor never ran any other tests on my thyroid to know what was causing the problem so I am assuming that my thyroid is now getting worse. As far as the palpitations being related to lack of sleep, how can that be when I sleep very deep and every chance I get?
Avatar n tn I hope this might help someone that had this health issues, I had heart palpitations my entire body would shake, dizzy, foggy headed, felt like something was in my throat light headed, nausea , itchy skin even hives, well went to the big medical facility here had full work up saw MD cardiologist they did the monitor/holter, stress test, ultrasound ran test and thought it was pvc gave me some meds made me so sick in three days .
Avatar n tn hello im 27 yrs old and suffer from heart palpitations, i wondered if these can be linked to the menstrul cycle as i tend to get them mostly around this time and only occasionally inbetween its quite scary as i have to breath deep to get my breath, i have not been to my local gp about this yet as im afraid of what he will say. This discussion is related to Heart Palpitations.
Avatar n tn I would also notice that if I ate too much food or if my stomach was empty, I would get more frequent palpitations. My palpitations would then start this SVT and my heart would beat at 150-200 beats a minute for hours. It would start and stop instantly. I never actually felt bad during these episodes but they did scare me. Eventually in my late 20's I began having panic attacks that were related to my heart issue. I was very conscious of my heartbeat at all times..pretty annoying.
Avatar n tn If I were you, I'd ask the doc if the Cipralex could make the heart palpitations and anxiety worse, and I would also ask if he/she has ever used a betablocker to help treat symptoms of anxiety and whether or not you might benefit from one. Low-dose betablocker is frequently prescribed to help treat symptoms of anxiety (fast heart rate, palpitations, premature beats, anxiety attacks). If you do not want to take the SSRI or the Xanax, ask about the betablocker.
Avatar f tn I would just like for the nervous/anxious feeling to ease up and my palpitations to stop. The palpitations are my biggest complaint and I feel as if it's just a cycle. Anxious/palps/anxious/palps etc. What is ashwagandha and what does it do??
